hey guys and welcome back to crowd in faith glory to God I have not seen you for a while but it's my pleasure to see you again and I'm inviting you guys to click that subscribe button and join the family you're welcome you're invited and I just want to talk with you guys catch up and talk to you about how wonderful Jesus Christ has been in my life so I've come on here to share a testimony with you today about how God supernaturally got me into the University of Cambridge can we just clap for Jesus because God is good and I am still in awe of his testimony I'm gonna try and be quick so I'm really gonna try my hardest to speak as fast as I can to get this message out so you guys you guys know what's going on what the deal is so let's begin over some important information my interests I have always been interested in race education and theater race I was the ethnic minorities officer at my university and Students Union I haven't organized the Black History Month out at university we had amazing speakers it was fantastic this was a few years ago I also started up an organization a collective of a few friends it's called let's talk black where we educated and spoke on black issues we had conversations debate on top of that education the same passion about education for a long time and I did an education module this year I was part of the educational conference at my university this year I went to India a few years ago to teach English I went to Ghana a few years ago as well to teach English for a month there I planning to go to Connor again to teach again you're getting the deal you're getting the gist fugly theater so my interest in theater I've always been very interested in theater but in most recent times I have been more interested in using the arts as a form to educate as a means to educate rather I did a placement in Coventry this year where I was working with the youth of black youth theatre in Coventry and we were educating on social injustice or social issues so we were talking about knife crime and creating theatre to expose that and to kind of engage event get the youth to engage with these things so my desire is using theatre as a means to educate to fight against social injustice to respond to community issues so passion about that so there those are mine race education theatre my three passions that I have been just after Jesus I'm really really really into that stuff so now that you know the information let's go of the rest of the testimony three years ago the 15th of September 2016 to be exact I had a dream that I was getting a letter back from Cambridge University finding out whether I had gotten accepted brushed off didn't think too much about it kind of laughed because at that point I was really struggling with my previous degree that I was doing that I don't do anymore and I was like god you're funny I'm having a dream that game you know a letter back from Cambridge University and I don't even know if I'm gonna finish this degree if you guys haven't seen my university testimony I suggest you go and watch that as well because God just came through on that okay and and so I had this dream and then I would go on to in the next few years have continual dreams of my father driving me to Cambridge University for me to do theater and I would look at God and say God why do I keep having this dream is this just something of my soul because we really know that kind study theater no they don't do that and they do not do that so what's going on here and I just have this string do not take it you know too seriously until 2019 January 2019 so over the past few months with in 2018 I'm going into 2019 and I have been romanticizing and toying with the idea of doing a masters at this point the degree that I was on I was doing really well I was enjoying it so much and I was like maybe I should further my education a desire that culture is just like putting there and you know just increasing increasing it I meant a in January 19 I went to sleep and had a dream and now in this dream I was doing a master's degree but I hated it like it was horrendous like I was like get me out of this degree it's horrendous but I was only doing it because I knew that for other it sounded cool it's not cool it sounded and maybe more academic it sounded more you know what maybe other people would find like more interesting and I was only doing it for you know people the audience or I guess family or friends worked you know say sounds amazing incredible and then I well know enough is enough so I went onto the oxford website in the dream I went into the Aqsa website and i typed in theater but nothing came up zero so then the next part of the dream I just knew I had to go into K which is website I had to type in filter so I type in like well I go to type in theater but I wake up so it's like home I woke up from that dream and in that moment gorgeous began speaking to me and he was talking to me about how the fact that he's arousing the desires inside of me for me to do a master's degree but I cannot afford to do a degree that I don't want to do that I'm not passionate about and most of all that I'm not called to do by him God said I made you a creative I made you someone here you know you're going to you're passionate about race education and ask for a reason you know he was like don't go on to do a master's that you know you're gonna regret doing do something that you know that iron core needs to have place of passion inside of me to do so I was like okay Lord and then he sends me mysteries in that dream you went on to the Aqsa website and you typed in bitch I want you to go and do that right now so just like my dream like below instruction go into the Oxford University website click on it and you know scroll about and try and find the postgraduate page click on graduate I'm looking at their admissions I'm looking at their courses I'm like let me go on the eh-2-zed listings and I'm like let's type in theater let's see what happens will it be like my dream and I type it in lo and behold sorry there are no courses that matter sure your search criteria and I'm like oh my gosh this is just like my dream guys it's just like my dream learn behold nothing came up and then I was like in the dream I never actually got to see if anything did actually come up on the Cambridge website because I woke up God said that's your next step go and type it the Cambridge website and you'll see what comes up I type in theatres guys and literally so right now I'm really excited so I'm typing in Cambridge University really quickly and I'm like oh my gosh I need to go to the Graduate Admissions page and type in theatres and see if anything is about to come up so I type in and guys the holds the degree of my dreams appears on this website education arts and creativity oh my god I gasped I wish you was like I was like what I was at relations like Jesus what's going on clicked on to that degree guys initially I kicks on to that degree he says lord please reach that degree and started reading it my jaw progressively began to widen and widen and widen I began to literally read this incredible degree about education and yards and how we can use the arts as an education tool and how we can integrate both for education for creative pedagogy is for all of these types of stuff and I was thinking to myself this is literally everything and more that I am passionate about I was like what is going on in a god I didn't know about this degree five minutes ago but through this dream and to me being obedient and through me following your steps I have supernaturally discovered this degree that I never knew even existed so the Holy Spirit was like honey just just chill just just keep scrolling just you write below just your way on Monday okay so guys literally I was scrolling on the website and I came across the course director and I was thinking to myself okay so what his research topics and so I went on to his research topics and I've just started to lurk and I started to look at his academic areas of like special ed he specializes in and they certainly overrun his research topics were humans okay let's listen again community-based arts education I was like okay but that's my interest race and arts education I was like wow like what is going on here another research topic of his was decolonizing the arts education curriculum I literally wanted to fall over my seat like this year I've also been partnering with an academic in my department and we've been going into a school in London while we were basically engaging with students we were getting them to learn about black playwrights who were getting them to be exposed to writers who were not simply white only white and my heart is for decolonizing the curriculum and because I was also part of a board at my university and which were which also constituted of students staff academics from the Uni and where we discuss how we can close the attainment gap and decolonize the curriculum I hope God I think wow like so he's actually really interested in these topics I'm interested in as well and I was not expecting that from a Cambridge lecturer but I still always like okay I want to meet this guy I was like god I want to meet this guy if you want me to apply to this Jesus it sounds incredible it sounds amazing but I want to meet this guy I talked to him I really want to see where he hires so I went to the University Guide we hit it off we hit it off we I expected to be there for like 45 minutes and there guys I was literally there for almost two hours I almost missed my train home because we were getting on so well and we were just discussing books that were so passionate about and he was like so excited about his books he showed me I was excited about my books to show him and then he would show me some of his books and then I'd be like oh my gosh I was reading that last week and that we would just be like oh my gosh and then he was like looking at through my work he was like this is so impressive and then guys he said he said to me when you come here he said to me when you come here and I was like Jesus is Lord is do not deceive me right now in the name of Jesus don't deceive me did he just say when I come here nor if he said when I come here okay Lord what is going on he literally was asking me I'm gonna do a PhD he was saying I should work even in Cambridge like I think they need people like me to be working in the institution he said to me it would be an absolute pleasure for me to be on this course and I was like God like what it's actually happening here like this is beyond like this is actually favor two times 100 like it was crazy guys let me just tell you something it is even difficult for me to stay in contact with my university lecturers at my current uni this guy that either out with who is the course convener literally said to me he was like to me stay in contact with me he literally asked me to remain in contact of him we remain in contact and even extra exchanging emails after we even met we even had a phone conversation where we were speaking about education and he was guiding me in helping me with queries I had on how we can better bring education and arts education into schools and this and that the other he was literally he was literally just I don't even know like God just person grace you know just we got on so well we still got on world like it's actually crazy guys then okay just like but Jesus sitters take up another level God was pouring out dream off to dream after dream after dream after dream after dream I had a dream of Jesus literally telling me that I needed to make a youtube video our movement of my testimony of getting into the University before I even got an acceptance letter in fact I even dreamt of the acceptance letter I think three days before I received it Jesus was literally showing me I mean being in the university I was actually there like it was just all like it was all just kicking off my position as a student at the Uni like I'm just like yeah yo you're getting in I remember had another dream someone comes up to me and said there's God giving you enough signs that you're going to get into Cambridge University and in the dream I went yes I was it shouting yes yes yeah like literally shouting then people were having dreams of me being accepted into the university okay just just to another another level guys someone came up to me I was like yeah like so I had a dream that you are literally graduating from Cambridge University there was another there's another experience I had where a prophet prayed for me about the University and they prayed for me for three seconds and they just literally took the hand of me and was like yeah you're in like godless she just told me like you're there I special you there you're in and he said to me that this this degree having this name on your on your CV having this name with you the fact that you've actually gone to the University of Cambridge which is a top institution and I think one of the top in Oxford Cambridge or the top institutions in the United Kingdom and these universities are also world renowned and known globally around the world and he said to me that this is now gonna stand as a passport for you you will have access and you will have the ability to go and get through barriers that other people would find difficult simply because you have that name with you and they said you're gonna have access and license to do things and things going to be a lot easier for you simply because of this name that you are now going to have attached to you Cambridge University and I was like glory to God and God was not here lying like I was having dreams of literally people coming up to me and speaking to me about their testimony of graduating from the University of Cambridge and explaining to me that they were getting contacted from linked in and from employers who were interested them simply because they had the name they were telling me all of the open doors that would occur guys obvious here how good like I believe you I know that you're like after the third the fourth dream you're like good you've confirmed through Lord the dream the omission in just the initial one you confirmed you showed me that a degree that I didn't even know existed and I'm applying for that degree you showing me through the grace that he even showed through the man who favoured me like never before here's the course director I was like you have literally given me people who have also spoken into my life and also continue or do not the person I thank God I know I get it like I was like you don't even have to do this he is God alone you don't have does not have to send you and these dreams he doesn't have to keep on talking to you and this on the other I was like God I believe but he was just showing his love for me like this is what I wanted to feel this is what I have for you mysteries I was like what one time I literally was in my bed and I literally felt the presence of the Lord come upon me so strongly and I heard the Holy Spirit say to me I am a promise keeper and he said you will get into Cambridge University then I suddenly felt filled with with filled with faith that's the best we can shred it a feeling of faith came within me to the point it was almost tangibly like it was tangible I could feel it like I could feel it there was literally nothing inside of me I could tell me that this is not for me like every part of this was telling me this is God's will for your life like it was absolutely crazy on top of that when I would literally be I'm like getting ready for bed like I like have a nap and let you know that sorry I'd sleep and you know when you go up because you like made me to go to the toilet or like something like that so I'd wake up and then I would literally here I've got open my ears I had prophetic is Latricia prophetic insight well God look I could hear them Tony in the boardroom about my work I heard the voices of the academic saying mmm I like this though they should say yeah I like this piece of work because guys when you're practically average for a piece for a master's degree that they want you to hand in exemplar work they want you to write an essay they want you to write an entire application as well as your research firm options and in the sense of sorry what your research interests as well in a lot this quite a long process so literally guys like I could hear them and they were literally reading over my application and they were just like mmm this is good like they're saying it's and I was thinking god what on earth like it was so supernatural from beginning to the end I'm even sit in shock and listen because yeah I've gotten so high and I literally had gotten so high on my education module that I did within my degree this year my course couldn't be in out of that course was absolutely delighted she loved me if she was niche she liked to me if you don't get in I would even be surprised because the reference I gave you is amazing and the other man who did my reference said to me he said you've got one of my lecturers and he's a head of my department wonderful sorry he's I think deputy head of my department he was it she like he said your reference I wrote for you is so it's almost radioactive that can also go up because we have such a good relationship so I was just experiencing favor from every single corner literally and then it came out that I got on to the degree I got the email and I was literally like like I was just so excited but I just took time to praise God's her bless His name and to worship Him and I just wanted to release his testimony because I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that I would go to Cambridge University and when I went onto my iCloud and saw that Jesus had spoken to me in 2016 I didn't understand the bishop I didn't understand his vision I didn't understand what was going on God has done yes exceedingly more than I could ask and think or even imagine why because I never even knew that degree existed nor did I think I would ever be qualified enough to even get into an institution that incredible and what God is saying is that he is quantifying those who feel unqualified and he is placing and positioning his people in places they would never expect to go to him there is an ester anointing in the sense that she literally was unqualified she was a woman Sheila she was the wrong race she was Jewish she had no parents and yet she ended up in the best place the Bible says the best place go took her from the low of the low to the highest of the high God took her to the place a high place where she even had governmental impact listen God is so good and I'm sharing this testimony not to show off I'm trying to reiterate to you today that Jesus Christ came and gave me a dream he gave me a dream where I literally didn't know that a degree sister but he put the vision in my heart and gave me the instruction to discover and find it so the Bible says that he is hidden treasure in secret places so the Lord wants to do the same thing and more with you listen this testimony is not just for me the Bible says that the testimony of Jesus is a spirit of prophecy every single time that you release a testimony you're not only you know glorify your God your prophesied to the people that he can do the same to you you ever had someone show a yielding testimony they shown that healing testimony so the faith of the listener can jump within that belly and they can seize on to the fact that Jesus is the waymaker Jesus is a healer Jesus is deliverer I'm on my way to Cambridge University not by my power not by my life but by the strength of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit alone there's no mic Amburg there's no I can say this and the other if I have not had that dream at the beginning best believe I would have never applied to Cambridge University I would have never apply to that uni but good paved the way and God said this is the way walk in here listen God is saying right now right here but if you know that he has shown you stuff in dreams he's showing you things showing you visions he said this this corner of your life this being prophecy that I've been spoken over you do not despise prophecy do not despise those vision the Bible says though the vision may Terry listen listen what does that mean sometimes you're not going to have an immediate immediate fulfillment the vision can in my place take three years to come to pass continue to believe that God has a literally brought his hand over your eye and when he speaks he don't speak for no reason see when he spoke to me I was too much in my flesh to be able to hear what the Spirit was saying so some of you listening right now the Holy Spirit's been speaking to you but you've been in your flesh because you're looking at your circumstances and your situations so you're so quiet in it that you can't hear what God has to say it's not a thing where you try to give God is thing when you speak them but you're not listening because you're too focused on the carnal the things that you can't see rather than the unseen but is saying come a final look at the things are under Stephen I will show you great and mighty things but is saying that if you will look at him if you would listen to him if you would literally understand that he is the one who will make away he is the one who can take you to those places then you understand you don't have to fight through it you don't have to do things in your flesh to try and get you to where you need to be cause we'll get either God will get you that don't despise that vision and don't doubt it we're gonna show you the long has he been saying something you know the Lord has shown you people in your dreams have told you what how the Lord is gonna use you you even hide our men and women of God visit you and your dreams and they've laid hands on you or they've touched you and they've impacted something on you or they said something about your how God is going to use you might Neos learn you know right now do not do not ignore those signs write it down pray into it you may not see the manifestation today but God is faithful to bring to possible to show you think about Joseph got them in a vision of who he was going to be it took years before that came to fulfillment but I even speak to find acceleration even right now in Jesus name and that God when he shows you these things you will obey you would say yes God I believe what you have shown me I believe it father God so guys I literally I'm really thankful and really happy – yeah I've shared my testimony with you guys to take this crazy who knows what's gonna happen in the future I don't even know but what I do know is that Jesus's thought and what I do know is that he's a good good father and what I do know is that if he's on it in me do the same year more I said and more amen amen god bless you folks bye you

hey guys and welcome to today's study with me so this is a full day of me powering through work at University and you're just watching me set up my desk first thing in the morning to get ready to crack on with some wack so I was going to start with making some notes from a lecture that we'd had the previous day so I was just getting up pens I was gonna use so all my four different colors my ruler I got up the PowerPoint slides on my macbook and obviously I was making notes on plain paper because that is just how we were all and yeah we just cracked on essentially so I have made a whole video dedicated to how I make notes I've made a couple actually but I was just going through the notes I made in the lecture and then filling in any gaps that I'd lacked the pens that I'm using are zebra the black one is a zebra pen and the colored ones are paper me and they are actually really good i don't use bic pans anymore since i have started to make notes on plain paper i've just loved sticking to my color coding scheme so I write predominantly in black and then I use green red and blue to just highlight key information or the most important information or separate out something else and so yeah I essentially got all those notes done pretty quickly because I'd done the majority of it in the lecture and then I decided it was about time to open the curtains because the Sun had definitely arisen by then okay so before I got onto something else I decided that I would do a quick five-minute meditation and I used the app called simple habit to help me the app is really easy to use it's available on iOS Android and online on the web and I picked a meditation called enhance your workflow so you guys know that I'm always going on about productivity but I've never really put meditation into practice but with simple habit I was just forced to sit down take a break and clear my mind as a really busy person I am really gonna start using this app to see if it makes a difference and even with the first meditation I did I really felt more productive afterwards so it's a paid full subscription but using the link below you can get a free 7-day trial and I really highly recommend you just try it because getting the Apple for she to just take these small five-minute breaks and I really think it's something we should be doing more of so I made my breakfast afterwards because I was getting very hungry at this point and then I also had a hot lemon because it was quite cold this morning winter is definitely coming and I had just updated my to-do list as you saw even though I'd made it the previous day whilst I was eating my breakfast I quickly did some emails that came in but I wasn't too overburdened today which was quite nice and so I can quickly move on to my dissertation so as I mentioned in one of my previous videos I've done quite a lot of the reading for my dissertation so it's just about writing it now and I like to write sections at a time so I focus on one and then I'll move on to doing something completely different for example today I got one section done and then I had a lecture at 10 a.m. so I packed my bag and yes it is incredibly muddy that is not the design of my bag it's because I don't have a mud guard but I had to pack my bag because I was going to my lecture at 10 a.m. this morning and I was also gonna do some other bits and bobs after my lecture so just run some errands but anyway in the lecture I was making my notes as usual as you can see I'm using plain paper as I mentioned at the start and this is how I kind of make and lectures if I can't sometimes they will go incredibly fast and I'm forced to make notes on the PowerPoint slides that they often give us but today I was able to make my own notes from scratch and then that would mean that I can fill them in later which is why I prefer these these are my old ballet shoes they have holes in both feet and they stink so bad and these which I got today actually went before the make so dancer I normally go for block these they were cheaper and they feel like slippers or might be there for me so well I don't know why I've never gone for them and they had the elastic already sewn on I don't have time to sew elastics right now yeah like they just hug your feet really nice right when you press that so [Applause] I really don't think I have any common sense sometimes but anyway I had been to the shops after my lecture I did a full on out eShop which was a bit spontaneous but I'm glad I brought my big rucksack with me and I also got ballet shoes as I showed you and then I essentially got to work on this essay that I was writing so I had pretty much completed it but I needed to read through it add some extra stuff and just make sure it was ready for kind of handing him for the supervisor to look at this was for my CJD module and it was a topic that required me to really focus on what I was writing because sometimes it's quite confusing when I am I hired a plan it's just my back especially the bubble when I don't have a jumper on especially it's super annoying and I just can't do my hair we just wrap it around we like try it in some of this thing then the plot just hangs well the plot doesn't touch my back it's like the best thing even though I look like an idiot but it's the life no one's ever gonna really see you when you're walking I'm just such a strange person after I'd done my essay I decided that it was a good time to take a break and have lunch and then afterwards I moved on to writing another section of my dissertation so working on my back again and at this point in the day it usually runs out of battery but anyway so my decision is only six thousand words and I am trying to write as concisely as possible but I am realizing that I'm already over the word limit by quite a lot so yeah I am still writing things and I want to include a lot more but I'm just gonna have to be really concise in the way I write things not waffle at all because there is no room for waffling in this dissertation and my topic is quite broad even though I have already narrowed it down slightly because we are able to modify our title we were even able to make up our own side to us I decided not to do that I've just modified my slightly so far but it might even need further tweaking and yes I talk to myself all the time okay so I'm guessing it's not just me but when I am writing things like writing an essay or writing my dissertation as I was doing then I just have to talk to myself I have to see if it makes sense and that's the way I can do it but yeah and the evening I had a hat rehearsal so this was in late afternoon actually I think from four til five or something like that so I had to cycle out of City Center and go to my tap rehearsal which was good and it was getting quite cold as I've said so I've wacked out my scarf recently and whenever I go out on my bike I have to really make sure that I wrap up warm and put on gloves because my hands are starting to dry out really quickly and get really sore so yeah that's my life in the winter unfortunately when I got back I still had time before I was gonna make dinner to do some work and I was just going to finish this section of my dissertation that I didn't finish before I went to the tap rehearsal so as before I was just on my Mac Burke I had my checklist next to me which has a color code which I've mentioned in a previous video so I'm using different colored text to designate different sections for my dissertation and this is actually making it so much easier when I'm writing it I didn't really know whether this was gonna help but it actually is turning out to be quite useful so I do recommend it and if you would like me to talk further about it then definitely like this video and I can do that very soon as you can see I had finished my dinner and I was just doing a tiny bit more of my dissertation before I had a shower and then decided it was time to go to bed so I just essentially reverse what I did in the morning I just put everything away on my huge desk which I can honestly love I looked at my to-do list didn't have to update it and then I just had some almond milk and went to bed thank you for watching this video as usual guys I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see T see you

MUSIC CREDITS | By My Side – Craves

I have way too many to do this right now I need to condense it all until one to do next I need my to do this if I have two functions what we need to do we just need to do it as if that's good now what happened today hello people why do I look shiny anyway hey guys good morning people wherever you are I don't know where you are but I hope you're gay I am gonna head off to my 9 here make sure this morning I talked to you guys for too long I will be pushing it but I always am kind of pushing it and then I have a lecture an evening at 5 no the only set thing to have this day other than dance really late in the evening but yeah I've got a lot to do today I'm gonna be trying to fake somewhat dissertation and I'm gonna talk to you guys a bit about my dissertation give you a little update and talk to you about that because we have made progress on that front we're not this morning doing you know the usual geo work or any stuff like that I had my breakfast now I just need to pack my bag Nina's carnie 8:45 if I leave it too late I'm gonna have to like grab my bike and go the other day I broke my whole punch the lecture notes was slow of that I'm also really ambitious when it comes to hole punching things it's the same with blending things and my smoothie makeup I blend a lot of frozen stuff and I'm quite over ambitious the same goes with hole punches so I tried to shove it in you know just rammed it in and I was like yeah I'll be fine but no we've ended up with a broken hole punch it now it just doesn't work I don't understand how it breaks it but I've done it multiple times before it's not the first time I've broken a hole punch let's say that but I think that the fact that I break the whole bunch just goes to show but the lecture notes it's just you know too dense speaks for itself so yeah I haven't been able to hold punch anything recently that's why my paper is everywhere and I can't deal with lose paper it has to be organized in a folder almost it is also super super cold in my room today and so I'm wearing this a really big jumper there's something wrong with my window I don't know what has happened to it but it just won't close I'm just wearing my black skinny jeans which are pretty cropped here and then this really nice oversized Coon jumper I haven't actually locked myself out since I put this on my door so it's a good side it's working good morning river car I hate this Junction there are so many bikes ok many cyclists everywhere I feel so English you get to get hit by cyclists I can which is not the first time I've been hit by cyclists I feel it's that broad rushing to the my knee and my shoelace is coming undone and I starts coming down that's all I can think of right now it's so insignificant but when I'm walking along I'm like my socks are falling down and it's really annoying me I'd like to just have an overload of diagrams and it wasn't as if they were simple diagrams of a very complex diagrams with so many names that aren't proteins on that's like what's going on whizzing through these slides there is no paper everywhere I need to get whole bunch today it's almost silly I've got my hot lemon do not spill on my back I'm going to do some dissertation reading this morning and then this afternoon evening I want to go over lecture kind of notes do an essay so now my two major plans for the day and then do all of a sudden between let's crack on with some dissertation reading this Sun is super annoying you know I'm gonna have to close the Carter pink light in case you're wondering I still need to change my bomb shaped pictures okay I don't really like it still but well but we haven't changed it yet I can't believe I've not actually done this before on that computers you can have obviously the full screen window which I love but I didn't know how you get the to full screen windows next to each other I've recently discovered how you do and it's life changing okay so I'm getting really hungry and I'm gonna have lunch but I thought I would update you guys a bit about my dissertation so I'm doing it ascension I'm writing a science dissertation it's an extended piece of where I think I suppose I don't really know how you define dissertation you can either do your dissertation in your major subject or your minor subject so for me because my major subject is pathology and I don't start my minor subject until next time I've just decided to do it in pathology and I'm totally fine with that I was planning to do that anyway so we were given titles and they were split into the different modules that you choose to do in pathology so because I do cancer as one of my modules so cancer in genetic disease and immunology is my second module I was looking at the titles in those two sections the deadline titles is the 9th of November so it has not gone past yet people are still deciding that titles they're so choosing titles we've got quite a lot of time and a lot of flexibility which is nice because you're doing your dissertation it's quite a big thing you want to find a topic that you're interested in I suppose and you want to make sure that it's right for you so it took me quite a long time to decide I thought that I'd see one straightaway and be like oh yes I want to do that one but it wasn't actually a case and I am awful at decision I am so indecisive I must be the world's worst because I overthink things and when I think I've come to a decision I'm like oh no I should do this and I can maybe do this I'm lying there on my bed and I'm trying to sleep and I'm thinking about these things it's just ridiculous but anyway I finally come to a decision let's say on Sunday evening or something a couple of days ago I was facetiming Emily just before I was going to bed so I was lying in bed literally like this Emily please help me this is literally what I look like on FaceTime the title has made no sense to have I didn't mean anything to her but often I think it helps if you can talk to someone about things just to tell them how you're feeling and on Sunday when I'll speak to Emily I chosen my title and I was meeting my supervisor on Monday so I essentially made a decision and I'd already done some reading for it however I was overthinking things on Sunday I was stressed I was like I need your help I don't know what to do I don't know if change my title and I was super worried kind of semi stressing but I now feel so much better that's the good news I stuck with my decision because I'd done a lot of reading for it anyway it made no sense for me to suddenly change but I was just in that mode of overthinking things and I met with my supervisor on Monday as I just said at 6,000 worth I was originally gonna do it on cancer and stuff but my title is actually an overlap between cancer and immunology so that's really cool I really like this field I am really interested in it I don't know why I was suddenly doubting all this on Sunday I just do this and I get really stressed once again to it things will start clicking into place hungry I'm such an idiot sometimes well all the time who we all know that but I said this morning my rooms really cold and I thought the window broken but it turns out the window was not broken at all I emailed maintenance being like I tried to leave my window open all night there's a draft of my room I'm really cold so any help would be greatly appreciated so they came and he looked at it and they were like oh it's just to do with this thing here so I was like oh no wonder panic over the window is fine I just wanted to talk a bit about this jumper because it is new and I will send some stuff from this company called Shekau it's one of Sweden's biggest online fashion stores or something they do ship to the UK and stuff comes really quickly they sent me some of that clothes I know what you're thinking right now you're like oh you see you have your own brand as Nana which is true and I'm all about ethical fashion and trying to move away from fast fashion so I am very wary and cautious when I work with companies I do try to do some research before I work them and find out if there's something that I want to support or not if the campaign is a good message behind it if you go get a benefit from it in any way I asked shakal and I was like what do you do for the environment is your stuff sustainable stuff like this in a nutshell let me get up what they said they say that shakal works in a sustainable way they were actually awarded for that work being sustainable and 2017 they said it says that they work and produce mostly in Turkey ninety percent of the production therefore strict in regulations the employee environment commitments of Manas is Matt's on European level they work with fair trade only it produces on demand it doesn't have mass productions overstock and too much inventory so on their website I couldn't really find this information that's why I emailed so I'd say that they don't really talk about that much they're not promoting themselves as an ethical brand which is unlike myself and my sister's brand Nana we want it to be an ethical inspired apparel clothing line who knows but I think it was nice because they did give me these answers and it was there was a lot of transparency like its bordering on a fast fashion store but I thought that that sounded good to me I suppose it sounds like one of the better fashion companies out there so there were four things and all the links to all the items will be below you can also get 50% off using holy 15 five days after I post the video this jumper which I obviously love it is one size but I really like that so yeah it's just like a cream kind of ribbed knitted jumper can't go wrong with the cream knitted jumper I was down also sent this jumper which I will show you when I put it on you'll see what it's like it's got a high neck it's kind of a brownie orange color which I honestly love iris themselves so shorts some kind of posh looking black shorts so you can see that's a label ruffled paper bag kind of waste thinking that's what you call it with a little tie you might be able to wear it with tights long black Porsche kind of trousers I already hung up they're really kind of meaty trousers I don't think though these are gonna fit me very well to be honest with you but they're like black long posh trousers I thought they looked quite cool we show you this jumper boo oh I love this I don't normally wear things with like a high neck as I said it's like brown it's again one size so it's pretty oversized I have these pockets here in front as well you can kind of see the color a bit better in this light high kind of neck pockets very nice these shoes are actually super super nice and I just put this top on so that you can kind of just see the shorts so they have a bow which you can tie and then it's a zipper and then they just like fit really nice and snug on my waist they're really soft as well and I really like the lightness of these shorts are really nice and light and just floaty tights would actually probably get really nice with these maybe would like some boots um heeled boots it's so sad that about these shadows my hair is a mess with a jumper the length is way too long I will show you the mirror but so hard to find closer fee sometimes they think this is the look they were going for they're supposed to be high-waisted they're just way too long for me yeah thank you to shakal it's not about the trousers but the other three things were good so I've just been working on the essay that I wanted to get done today to do this is going send me okay anyway okay this is what we'd want Brian oh yes student discount Oh ronzo so much stationary this is lecture like a stationary heaven so many pens so many pencils but I can't find hole punches right now I really want this one looks so sturdy I could hole punch anything with that look 40 pounds or a whole bunch they're quite expensive as well so I'm not gonna get those I'm not gonna get this one cuz that just looks like it's gonna break with one bit of paper so I think I'm gonna go for this one this one looks good to me he says apparently has a ten sheet capacity it's getting so dark so early so no i pushing Muhammad down take it off I came out of that lecture before my notes were so neat at the start and then the slides are just bombarded with so much information and so many more diagrams now I'm ready for dance it got changed when I go back straightaway and I'm gonna go to dance it's a buyer house for today so wow that light is bright I kind of semi forgot it was ballet so I just turned out with my hair in a plot that was only rehearsal we're in the long room for no reason I mean it's really long say hi to the blog everyone oh hey Lucy hey when I was cycling up the hill to get here I saw people on scooters is that one listening to me scooters that lets you were going up so quickly this hill the dodgy hill ice I actually started up it really quickly let's put these truck keys on learn to the awesome Atlanta I sure know how different it made in a different situation we've not just come on balance so we're kind of a bit like tired right right yeah we look fabulous in our tracks you bottom classical dancer live here is my bed she can clean detail enjoyed this video you guys like if you did I'll go Martina them so they taught us so strangely with Martina then if you want like morning and evening routines updated give this video a thumbs up and yes I all speak to you My 2018 university Desk Setup – Cambridge medical student

Views:294252|Rating:4.88|View Time:5:25Minutes|Likes:7639|Dislikes:190
As promised, here’s the long-awaited video about my 2018 university desk setup. I use it for work (I’m a medical student in case you haven’t heard), video editing, web design and development (www.6med.co.uk), watching stuff on the internet and pretty much everything else.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but doesn’t neatly fit into the usual ‘medicine application advice’ or ‘life of a medical student vlog’ that the rest of my videos fall under.

hey guys and welcome to today's video as you can tell from the title it's very obvious it is a study with me video and even though it's like midway through the day I just thought I wanted to introduce this video because I needed to kind of like contextualized where I am right now my first idea with me video was at home because it was winter holidays the Christmas holidays and I was studying because I had mock exams at the start this time but now it's the New Year's new term and so I'm back already time has gone so fast but anyway that happens it's currently Wednesday today and I've been back I came back on Saturday so I haven't been here for that long but I finished my marks I had two exams yesterday and on Monday lectures and Tom officially starts tomorrow on Thursday it always starts on Thursday that's like official start of week one but because my course is the way it is we start two days early we've started lectures yesterday so I've already had three lectures which is great so basically I've already kind of started working in terms of lectures and staff I have my first division tomorrow anyway I hope this makes sense I hope you enjoyed this video please like if you did and subscribe for new and you want to see more study with me videos as well as other stuff like that uni blogs you know the drill hey guys so I should probably say good morning because it was the morning when I woke up probably like 8 o'clock I don't really know but it was kind of still dark so I had to tell my lights on and as you can clearly tell I was quite tired after a couple of days of mock exams I got up I got dressed went in the bathroom and yes you know reappeared fully clothed well I was wearing shorts and I was bad idea because it was actually quite cold I shoved on my fluffy boots which I've actually got quite recently I got them over the Christmas holidays and I basically then sat down and started to work I don't know what time this was but obviously I started my day with making my to-do list because personally I find that making to do this helped me structure my day and plan out what I'm gonna do so that I can maximize my time and be as productive as possible like in my other study video I was kind of transferring some stuff onto a new to-do list because the other one was getting a bit too crowded and yes as we're gonna highlight here I wanted to organize my folders pan that is what I'm gonna show you in this video which will come about halfway through so stay tuned for that okay so to do this and a bit of diary organization was done and then I just started to work or maybe not so I thought that I would start my day before eating breakfast I just wanted to read these lecture notes because I had a lecture that day at 12 and I like to try and read my notes before so that I know what's going on in the lectures because often they'll go quite fast and you might miss things oh it's too far I need to take out staples and often when you're like in the middle of the booklet it doesn't stay open you know what I mean like you have to press it down and you can't really write that well well I get into the corners which I don't really like so I kind of dismantle where I did last time it works pretty well and then that way I can just take the lectures irrelevant instead of carrying hopping around so yeah as I just said I decided to like dismantle this but clerk which is a booklet for the whole term containing all the lecture notes for every lecture of Lent term which is the second term you need for me so yeah it was a quite struggle because the booklet is really fat and the staples were really well jammed in but anyway we were successful and then we finished ringing through the notes so what I do is I use a colored bic pen I love Bic pens they're so easy to write with in this case I was using a blue one if you couldn't see just thought I'd point out the obvious and I just go along with a ruler I don't know why I like to underline things with a ruler and I just got into this habit of doing it and it's kind of Holly's little way of highlighting the key points in the text so I think that took me about like 30 to 40 minutes and by this time I was getting really hungry so I then decided to make breakfast and I just thought I'd show you cutting my mango because I think it's quite therapeutic to watch and if you were paying quite close attention you will have seen me grab up my blanket because I was wearing shorts and that was bad I did because it was cold whilst eating breakfast I then just checked my emails and one of my computer for the first thing that day because when time starts you get a bombardment of emails and then after that I'd finished my breakfast and I got back to work I had to close the curtain as you just saw because the light was so bright it was just reflecting off the screen and I couldn't work but we'd set herself up and we first started off with writing out some of the notes from the lecture that I'd had the day before this so I made notes on this really scrap old bit of paper and I didn't really like that so I just thought in my time this morning I would just write out those notes and I thought that by writing them out I could check that I understood everything add any extra details if I'd miss them in the lecture so I went online I used our Moodle or VLE that we have access to got out the PowerPoint and just made sure that my notes were comprehensive and I'd understood everything I did a bit of research on the side because something I was a bit confused about it was this experiment they were going on about in the lecture so I searched that on the web Google which like always came to the rescue so because I had some questions about my color coordination for the notes that I make I thought I just mentioned here briefly because I will make a video about full revision notes and how I make those in the future but here I was using my blue big pan to write the bulk of the content out and then the green was just to write about the experiments that had been done so it was the experimental evidence because obviously I do a science degree and this year especially more so than first year the lectures focus not only on the content and the stuff that we're trying to understand but they like to see how we know things and find out where this evidence came from so that's quite important for me as a science student and in second year I'm suicide because my red pick pen run out just bash my elbow so I'll have to use this stuff below because I just need a bit of red to finish my notes okay so it was probably about 11:30 because I had a lecture at 12:00 so I needed to start sorting myself out for that great – my lecture now it's the furthest out signing cycle but should be okay and my neighbor has just started playing the piano so are we gonna get dressed open this Oh rocking up in shorts and my fluffy boots and I would just be great by OBT code and people how's she doing yes so I had to change into something other than shorts and I quickly packed my bag and actually remembered my glasses show me my bag because you're common as hell so especially at the start of town because I don't wear my glasses that often when I'm at home and I need them for lectures mostly I actually forget the I wear glasses but today I didn't forget anyway so we went to our lecture it was a pathology lecture as you can see we're doing bacteriology all about bacteria and I just saw my phone before the lecture started because I hadn't checked with the Instagram feed that day so that was something that I did quickly and then I basically sat through the lecture okay so one o'clock it's not lunchtime because Holly is very hungry at this point and obviously the head goes back in a bun because I cannot really work with my head down and on my neck actually yeah we figured that the Sun had decided to go in a bit so it was a bit easier to see my screen and to work at this point in time oh say hello of the Instagram boomerang people anyway so I ate my lunch and just for your information here I just want to tell you I'm not showing you everything that I'm eating during this day I will do maybe a study with me why in the day video at some point but just to you know I do snack all the time so this is not everything I'm eating during the day anyway so we've been like cept some papers to read for this thing called journal Club we're doing this term and we had to we have to like read three papers that they've given us and we have to we had to pick one from like loads that they sent across so so they sent across loads of these papers all in this folder here with like these ones here and then there are loads and like folders as well so yesterday evening I basically went through the most of these papers read the titles read some of the introductions or whatever like the first few lines to see what they were about um just so I get a lot of flavor so I'm like not the best at making decisions so busy takes me a while but at this decision actually it wasn't too bad because I found this paper and you know why I chose it so this one paper that I've just been reading now and I've been making some notes on here is about plant immunity so I read this and you know the first word in the paper was rice and I was like yes please this is Holly's type of article so yeah it's been quite a good one I was like that is definitely up my street or ease Oryza sativa o ry is it a fun fact of the day is mine diffic named Rhys and so yeah I was just basically talking about how rice is threatened by like bacterial and fungal diseases and stuff imagine if we could have rice sauce I'd definitely generate these people because I need to know how to fix this problem see ya gonna raise another article now so I'll pipe in my Gardens just finished reading the article wrote out the notes and now I want to just sit down just talk to you guys about the folders and my old organization and now I have actual ring binders and I started to like put my stuff away and file it away I thought I would tell you guys how I do it yeah I do it in kind of a that way I've done it all throughout my school years I continue to do it now because I love folders I love using them they work pretty well for me so I use these these are like smaller ones as like wow they just falling off my lap so I just use like these kind of regular sized ones like your average ring binders to file the work in that I am currently working on so for example well my CD B module say like this one here we had one lecture and we've been given the lecture notes for like the next six lectures apparently according to this thing that's here so this folder will be used for like this lecture series and then it will I will put all like the work from the practicals related to this lecture series and the supervision work that I do related to this in this folder because I'll be taking it around with me for the next week or so so like this is my one for biology which has got this massive booklet in it and this one as you can see like it's so ratty because I literally take them everywhere with me and this is the one that I'm starting for new Roy I talked more about the modules I'm doing this year in my latest Q&A video and then if I have things that are just like have a mint hole punch or some extra booklets I'll often use just these like standard pop our folder things so basically that's my stuff that I use when I'm going out about and the stuff I'm actively working on and then the main event most of my organization that takes place in my ring binder so like the bigger folders so because I'm doing three modules this year and make sense for me top three when I did like a levels and I was doing four aces I had four obviously here they are now and these are organized using dividers and stuff so I organized these at home before it came because I've kind of only just moved back to uni so I'm gonna like show what I do who's messaging me now I'm gonna show I do in terms of like organizing them so here we are back again with the boys over I bet you missed me anyway here we go so I'm just labeling up my dividers and for this folder it was my CD b1 I was labeling them accordingly so I had a section for my revision notes I like a separate section for my practical revision notes one was essays as I'm showing you here I have another for passed papers one that would be for my practical notes and the lecture notes that we are actually given like the handbooks as a post in mine revision notes I've made so here we go this is the full list and then is just the case of putting everything into the correct sections so because they didn't have ring binders for my first term I wasn't doing this as I go along which I would normally do so it just meant that over the whole days I just had to put it all in sections and really organize my photos which were overflowing and this was the smaller ones I just showed you before so yeah empty folder yeah it was just a case of going through and sectioning out my work putting it in the big ring binders and that was okay so this is my one full like CBB and you can see down the side so it's got dividers in it there's more folders I never put dividers in because I will often like transfer all my work into these ones quite soon so you know and literally before I make you board a photo organization I just wanted to show you some little hacks that I was taught by my sister actually so these are courtesy of my sister thanks em so basically if you're using paper dividers and you want them to be a bit more durable then what you can do is you can grab some sellotape and just stick over the edge as I'm showing you here cut down and trim down the sides and it means that they don't represent and I also put sellotape sometimes over the holes where it like inserts into your folder because they can become a ratty and they might rip sometimes so just do I do that but yeah my photo organization is just portable folders like storage folders and some dividers and my storage folders and regular kind of weekly organization and sessions which doesn't take more than like 10 minutes so it's most important when it comes to her vision because oh you're one who filed away in one place okay and now so photo organization is coming into practices so I needed to find my practical notes because that is what I wanted to work on so I quickly whip those out and I should say actually this is for my pathology module or bulge of disease and they better work I was doing this afternoon was something I'd been set to do over the holidays I'd done most of it over the Christmas holidays and that was to like organize my practical notes from last term to make sure that they were ready for when I came to revise everything nearer towards the exam so I just had to finish up a few questions that were incomplete still and I'm now in the print room okay so that sudden panic was because I basically put my paper in and the printer just decided to start printing well I thought it was gonna start printing anyway and I always get really worried that somebody is gonna open not put paper in and they're a hundred page essay or something is gonna start using my paper so I get quite worried about that but anyways I it didn't print that and I managed to sort it out and I did my printing and then I went straight back to my room because I had danced today so at four o'clock I think I had to be a rehearsal actually not four o'clock didn't see the time yeah I needed to be at rehearsal at five o'clock so I was just filing my work back into its appropriate folders and I got dressed and I which dance I first had at our rehearsal at Hamilton so I had to cycle pretty far out so I was just showing on my tap shoes as you do warmed up a bit did the rehearsal and that we cycled back after the rehearsal this is not my helmet actually it's my friend Izzy's it's a lot nicer than my helmet can we just appreciate that I shoved on my scarf yeah I know it's not the most fashionable way to start wear a scarf but it keeps food this lump make this really weird noise I need to go and sort out with housekeeping because I can't work and have my loved one on my desk because it makes this horrible noise it's like a be like a constant B yeah so you couldn't actually hear the noise it was making so it sounds as if I'm just complaining about something that's non-existent but it does actually make this really really strange buzzing B sound which is so irritating when you're trying to work but anyway so I had my data so I had then two hours of conditioning and other rehearsals I came back and I had my dinner my face is the reaction just like my mum was talking about on FaceTime so I called home and I then decided to get some what I was gonna do after I'd finished my dinner quickly which I didn't actually work on very long because it was getting quite late and you know my bed was calling for me and you have to be a priority straight when you need so in my face is pretty well I just literally stepped out the shop because I put I started at 10:00 tomorrow and I just realized in the shower I just had this revelation suddenly remembered I was like I have a super vision tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. that start time is quite different so I have a super vision at 8:30 tomorrow I'm greeted on the first official day of turn back with a super vision two lectures a practical and then police going clubbing Wow I've been convinced by the dance girls to go out like I need to like store my stuff out I need to sort my life out of this super vision tomorrow all right I'm supposed to know what questions I had about this practical stuff we did in the holidays it's half 11:00 because I got back like not good and I maybe decided to watch some YouTube but that's totally okay you need downtime people we need to appreciate this but maybe it would have been a better idea to do that when it was so so late but anyways I quickly sort out my folder for my 8:30 supervision and I should be going to bed but I mean guys we have to appreciate this we hit 40k on YouTube cheeky little boomerang why not yeah I just wanted to say I'll throw it in and out thank you so much guys for 40k on YouTube it did make my day anyway thank you guys for watching and I will speak to you in my next video goodbye

let's see this then Oh microeconomics I can produce more need to do some forms probably them tomorrow washing washing I'll do that tomorrow as well wash up tomorrow who's my room tomorrow pack the ski in tomorrow a YouTube video the book of ideas what should we do today watch really is 10 myths about University expectations vs. reality then guys so guys welcome back to another video on my channel now today in case you ting guess from the skit I've been looking in my book of ideas and we're doing expectations vs. reality at university because obviously I've been at University for two times now it's coming up to the end of the time and I kind of know the reality of university and put it this way my expectations they were a bit different now there are a few updates that need to be said before we get into the video basically recently I was helping out on this second year's film it's towards their final degree I was a lead actor in a in the short film because I'm just trying to figure out what I want to be in a life like I'm not sure I don't really think I want to be stuck behind a desk a whole day kind of thing even though I'm studying economics swiftly move on from that one I'm also going on the university ski trip this week for the whole week and I've been working harder overall this term since I got the motivation in the sense that if I get 60% and above in June time I'll be heading to the University of Sydney I should be working right now I feel bad every time I'm not revising probably a lot people do fail ofwell and the other day me and the boys went out and we took this photo basically was doing some case sided challenge I don't got as much anymore now I'm focusing on whole black et cetera but there was just this one picture that summed up University and I'm gonna leave that links down in the description below so click the link to student here and you'll be able to see that photo that accurately sums up University and obviously before my Instagram you'll all you've seen that and I'm going to be doing a Q&A very soon a snapchat video Q&A send your snapchats video questions the student vlogs on snapchat you know how my name is no stupid books that are just do drugs and you should be featured in next week's Q&A without any further ado let's get into the expectations at University versus the reality so as many of you guys know I'm actually in cated accommodation and it's shared bathrooms and I share a house with 16 other people now obviously whether it be in 16 other people you sometimes think oh god it must be a nightmare to have a shower in that place and truth be told before I came to uni that is exactly I was thinking the actual reality is that the showers free ninety-nine percent of the time there's three showers in our house one on each floor and pretty much I mean let's go have a shower now because I'm sure we'll be free it's never ever a problem to have a shower there's always one free like shared bathrooms and stuff isn't even that bad plus they you get clean like most days view as well so yeah I can confirm this completely fine you can have a shower whenever you like it unis there's no waiting around or anything oh go on let me go back to my memories going nowadays now that I'm almost not teenager in two years Brenda this one is a myth so basically before I came to uni I was like god I better learn to cook I better learn to you know I am my clothes so I learned to iron I haven't ironed once so when everyone tells you you need to learn to iron to go to university you fully don't I haven't ironed in that cupboard right up there and I just haven't even used it once like I'm leaving and just set on depop however why is lately my college basically told me that if you hang up on a coat hanger your clothes that need ironing into the bathroom turn on the shower the steam just like basically ironed your clothes for you so we might as well just do a live test cuz that will confirm you definitely don't even need to iron if you need to iron so it's like I was prepared for this video I've got the shirt here and it's fair to say it's a bit kind of wrinkly let's go see what the shower and hanging it up with this theme does now I'm gonna hang out like this and a turn-on for heat put it over there and then we'll be able to see if it gets all the wrinkles out I'll probably come back in about 10 minutes though if he's with it so while my t-shirts iron in itself in the shower I mean if everybody did use this lie fact though the showers probably would start to get a bit busy there's a few other misconceptions about you neither I myself kind of had and you guys may have them first up is that you know I thought I would do a lot more work than actually do now don't get me wrong since I've had this motivation I've started working a lot harder with the journey to Sydney and everything but if I didn't have that motivation I genuinely would do literally no work outside of my lectures unless I had the old question must one revise basically and another thing is that at school you never really bunked a lesson and you wasn't paying for a better uni if you just are you just miss your lecture then no one really cares it's just kind of seen as a normal thing miss your lecture even though you're paying for it that I personally I go to my lectures but I know a lot of people just kind of don't get me wrong I have missed a few lights sometime just like CBA for this especially when you've been out the night before damn it's so easy to just alike and miss a lecture oh I can watch our lecture capture yeah that's all right and then you say that you don't watch it and then it comes round to the the next lecture in that module you're like oh I didn't go to that last lecture so I probably shouldn't go to this one because I haven't caught up yeah just gets into a cycle and then before you know you've missed the whole time hello oh hi mum yeah lectures are fine yeah no I've never missed one no it's a hundred percent oh yeah yeah yeah yeah asteroids about it ten mum wake up at seven yeah I'm doing my washing on time top that up you're breaking up and that's another thing you never really have a good sleep schedule at uni your sleep schedules just permanently messed up you're just tired most of the time now is a fairly accurate thing I thought I'd have some kind of level of pattern where I go to bed at 12 then wake up a like nine everyday but it just doesn't mind like that because they're going out just completely changes your sleep cycle yeah so this is the house parties another thing at uni I was like down there's gonna be house parties every single night now don't get me wrong there are a few house parties every now and then but genuinely there's not as many as I thought there would be and even so they normally end up getting shut down by the porters because obviously you get complaints when some people are trying to sleep and some people trying to party and what actually there is every time you go out though is like a group of people probably bout 20 people just praying in their kitchen but that's never like year eleven year twelve year thirteen house party type of things like I kind of missed them to be fair good old days and another reality of university and it's probably what a reality more of life is that obviously back in the day I used to come home from school you know do some more revision I didn't really have much else to do maybe get told to do the dishwasher you know just just standard chores but University when you've got to do some cooking for yourself when you've got to do your own washing when you go do your own like Hoover ring the room making the bed and walking everywhere your time just goes time goes so quickly at university whether it be you spend ten minutes walking from lecture to lecture throughout the day there and back it just takes up so much time so on a Monday less I have five lectures I spent ten minutes walk in there to one of them and back that's 20 20 minutes unless I do that for all five lectures that's crazy I spend an hour to an hour and 40 minutes walking to and from my lectures on a Monday so all of these little things like walking doing the laundry everything just adds up and it just takes up so much time the reality isn't clear until you come to university how much of a struggle doing your washing is it's honestly one of the biggest pains in my life let's go check on the ironing lifehack okay you know what yeah that's actually not that bad results like it's actually done quite nicely if I left it in there for some longer time I definitely would not need to iron that so now it's been confirmed to me that I didn't even need to learn to iron before I came to uni if I could go back a thousand years and choose to be catered or uncatted I would choose to be catered hated is so nice now obviously the food is not worth the money but the thing about being catered is it's can you be bothered to wash up to cook the F at the time that's what you're paying for the savior of that not the actual quality of the food the quality of the food is not worth it but the actual time-saving this definitely be catered well yeah it seems like we are now at the end of this video so if you have enjoyed leave a big thumbs up for me you're new around here and you're watching this one the first hour don't forget the double comment down below or apply to all comments within the first three hours so yeah if you got any burning questions head to the www studio forum where you can ask your questions once you log in and then basically I always answer them that's for importing questions expect this ski blog when I am back and expect lots of study of me because I'm about the hard work especially now because of the Easter I pretty much have study leave for a long time but I have not yet occasional lecture so I'll be at uni studying three days but yeah thank you so much for 20,000 subscribers honestly like when I told my mom when I told my nan I don't think she knows what YouTube is and when I told one of my cousin's they said that's not as many use Jay Paul you spin your boys student vlogs and make sure you subscribe down below cop the merch supersoft you know a cowboy's quality jump up yeah subscribe down below see you again soon you know the deal with oh there is I just I just Taylor Swift songs every time she releases though I'm like that's alright and then suddenly out no I'm just like damn I love this song yeah so I'd add that in one I'm trying to get a thumbnail obviously I'm taking sing lessons now to get that resolved state university anthem 2018 coming you know the deal

just a tad awkward when you can't turn your alarm off at the start of the video and yes I do set quite a lot of alarms on my iPod and my phone to make sure that I get up in the morning but anyway hey guys welcome to today study with me video it is a Friday today as you can quite clearly see from my funky socks which I showed you in my last vlog so I started my day as usual drinking a load of water I usually start by drinking at least a liter and that was my second mason jar just fewer information but yes so the title of this video is how to be productive every single day and the motivation for this video came from the fact that I woke up this morning not feeling too great I didn't feel majorly ill at all I just felt slightly under the weather so I felt a bit of a sore throat coming on and I'm not usually one to get ill like this so it is quite rare but today I just didn't feel 100% basically so I thought in order to maximize my productivity because I still have a lot of work to do I thought that instead of writing my usual to-do list I would block out my day and specify exact times for when I would do different pieces of work or go to my lecture or a practical or the gym for example so as you can see I wrote that down I used my to-do list to make that and I basically got on with the work straightaway so I had scheduled from 8:00 till 9:00 I would do my mcq questions I'd been sat for my pathology supervision and if you've been watching my study with me videos then you will know that these multiple-choice questions form one paper for that module that I'm doing this year and basically they are not the nicest things at all so we were given some questions based on the bacteriology module that we had just finished and so I used my notes because we were told to do our open work we'd only just learnt the content I also used the online version of the notes in addition to my good old friend which I like to call Google and so I just plowed my way through the MCQs basically which are if you didn't know they are negatively marked I've explained this to you guys before but they're just horrible horrible things to do and I hope you guys never have to do these ups anyway so we open the curtains to let in some sunlight and of course I then crossed off my schedule for that day which I'd made and my to-do list which felt super great and it makes you feel really productive when you get things done especially on these days for example like I said when I don't feel that great and I don't feel as if I'm going to get as much work so I would hope to do done in that day but anyways I then had my breakfast as you can see I'm peeling my orange oh man it was going so well Oh getting slightly frustrated because I can't remove all the orange peel in one piece I mean I've always been really bad at doing that my sister has been so good and I've just never really been able to do it whilst eating my breakfast that day I decided to do my emails which is something that I usually do it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes usually and it was also scheduled in to my little timetable for that day as you saw at the beginning and we're gonna have to begin the writing this essay being tackling these how many pages of notes oh okay here we go wish me luck okay so with emails then done and the usual admin stuff I moved on to writing my essay which I just told you about so the previous evening I had finished writing up my essay plan and the notes for this essay on the computer and so this morning from like 9:30 to 12:00 up until my lecture I was going to try and write this essay and that might seem like quite a long time but these essays for my sound developmental biology module take quite a long time to write it's just gonna be do what oh yes that's a really good burn my mouth every time but today I didn't right let's get this instruction down come on how do I start defining the key terms so this essay that I was writing was about the cytoskeleton so here doing biology you've probably heard of the side skeleton and I did really enjoy this module because as I said to you guys before I think in my last study with me I associate things like this with very classical biology so okay so it's like 20 past 11:00 and I have a lecture at 12 so I've got about half an hour max before these leave and before I'm actually pushing it like always I haven't finished my essay yeah I mean I'm on the last section which I'm looking in the notice and seems to be the largest section which is great but I'm powering through I'm gonna hopefully get as far as I can through it most optimistically I could finish this last section but I don't know whether that is actually gonna happen I mean we got a little bit behind because those bacteriology empty queues were not very nice I'm seekers are never nice so I don't know what I was expecting them to go smoothly now I don't know about anyone else but when I am writing essays I do often talk to myself and reaping out aloud to see what it sounds like I do also pull some very strange faces looking back at this time-lapse I thought I would just share those with you guys because I am clearly concentrating very hard long as si and it takes a lot of power to write these things because they're quite dense I need to include a lot of detail and experiment evidence which is a requirement especially now that we're in second year so I do like to try and make my essays as good as possible because that also helps when I come to revise okay take it up outside what's the weather like not raining that's always good but am i running yes that never changes because I'm kind of running a bit late the cycling so my lecture doesn't take long tour takes like three minutes it's the finding of a space which takes a long time and often means that I might run in just on time and another thing that takes a long time is ah finding my bike there it is okay so I don't know what I'm saying here I've just muted myself out I'm probably rambling on about goodness knows what but basically we cycled to our lecture that morning at 12 to 1 and it was for biology of disease and look at that I mean I got there just on time on lectures always start five past the hour if you didn't know and then they run until 5 – so they're 15 minutes normally this lecture was about malaria and it was very very interesting because I've never learnt about malaria and this much detail before and when I say a lot of detail I mean a lot of very complex detail in my our lunch break from 1 to 2 after spilling my food as usual on my desk I decided that I would try and finish the essay because as I said I didn't finish it before the lecture which I wanted to do so I powered through that and as you can see my little finger is substituting for my index fingers because they're a bit from eating my pet or my plum I don't know I can't really remember but yeah so I don't always work over my lunch breaks if I do then it's because I have a lot to do and today because I was running a bit behind with my schedule I thought that I would just power through and get the essay done and I did actually so that felt really good I crossed it off my to-do list all I had to do was read over it and send it to my supervisor hence why I circled it and just because I get quite a lot of questions on these I use bic pens and nothing fancy and also here's a little sneak peek of the qutuz dance trailer video which I produced and edited so I was pretty proud of that from 2:00 till 4:00 so if the two hours I then had a pathology lab as you can see I'm wearing the very fashionable green gown which you guys are becoming very familiar with they are so good-looking like I mean look how great I look it's just so great I mean we're all matching the best things hardest things to tie up mind you but anyway so I went to this practical I got there a bit early so I looked at the notes that we were given I underlined them I did the stuff that I usually do with my ruler and then my lab partner arrived so Johanna is the person that I work with in pathology we have a great time in these labs not going to lie we work together really well we get on really well and yeah it just makes the lab a lot more enjoyable when you're working with someone who you get on really well with you can have a laugh with and joke around a bit because I mean let's face it labs are labs and you've got to make them a bit more enjoyable with a bit of fun this video is based on the work of two research team I mean here's to the funky music that plays in the hundred-year-old videos that they played to us in these labs just finished practical I'm gonna be here later a few hours for halfway Hall but just finished practical I thought I wasn't gonna be that long but who's looking at stuff down microscopes looking at videos and little demonstrations and it took so much longer than expected just finished gone for now at the print room so there is about the printers they come to the printing station we can print documents and stuff in black and white for free we have to provide our own paper so in my lunch break in addition to finishing my essay I had also sent some stuff to the print room so I just needed to collect that but the printing was slightly wrong today I mean I was a bit surprised when I looked at what came out the brinda yeah so at this point I was a bit confused I was aiming to like print one page here on one page here on 8th or but I must have pressed full sheets per April page so now is literally like the tiniest writing ever and I did it for all of them I don't know how that quite happened but this is what we've ended up with printing went slightly wrong but I'm sure my eyes will cope just about okay so after that little mistake with the printing I just did a quick filing session which took me literally no more than five minutes just everything that I'd printed out in my folders and hole punch and stuff that we'd been given in the practical today emails emails admin thanks but it's code really do why am I still on the biochemistry mailing list I don't do biochemistry anymore take me off the email is can I still get their emails like telling me about the metabolic control analysis practical although exciting seating plan for half way all the night let me see what are we sitting I'm on high table joking low table people I'm an undergrad oh where am I oh there we go next for Lucy and Tim amazing so had I been able to protect the future I would have not said that sitting makes the Tim was amazing and you're gonna have to keep watching to find out hey guys I mean just in case you'd forgotten it's Friday today that is clearly what I'm trying to show you with my leg stuck up in the air so that you can see my funky socks again okay all right I'm gonna head to the gym now so I'd originally scheduled to go to the gym from 4:00 to 5:00 but I ended up getting there about almost half past four because at the time that I came out the practical and after I'd printed stuff out but anyways I still went to the gym just to have a bit of a down time and guys let's appreciate what it took to get this clip I mean I got some funny looks because I had to get off the bike after I'd done my session put the camera somewhere film myself for a couple of minutes the cycling then I got back off the bike and stopped the cameras so yeah we had a few strange looks but anyways I finished my time in the gym I came back to my room and then in as little as 45 minutes I was very impressed with myself because I managed to get the notes down for this next essay that I want to do from neurobiology so I'm going to did a little plan and typed up the notes from lecture in just 45 minutes actually under 45 minutes I typed up these notes which will form the basis of my neuro essay that I want to do I've just crossed off the notes that I have gone over I've circled the best I need to confirm with the PowerPoint and staff in terms of my daily schedule dun dun dun okay done 6:00 or 6:30 or supposed to be getting ready so I've gotten our 15 minutes which is fine yeah that was a good intense session very rapid typing I think I might post a little cheeky IG and then I get ready so I'm running like so so late when I go through our yearly dinners and stuff I'm always so early and the drinks start an hour before the active dinner so I always arrive on time and nobody's that so this year I was like I'll just wait a bit and I kind of left it quite late so I'm running a bit late I'm going to halfway Oh everybody halfway through my degree the theme is like garden so I'm wearing this floral dress which I've worn before not bad so I thought that I would take you along to my halfway hall that evening because guys it is officially a halfway through my degree here at Cambridge which is crazy time has flown by but I thought that you could come along with me and you're actually in for a really good treat because the vegan food that I got this form was the best vegan food that I have had in college here so far so our evening started off an old tool and here is Sophie and Lucy who are also by Oh nuts keys with me Soph loves plants if you couldn't tell with her amazing headdress and just to point out anyone notices that dress is very similar to the jumpsuit that I wore at Mabel but anyways I brought this coat along with me in which was very annoying that I had to carry but I got some belvoir which can tell that I like quite a lot because I drank it very quickly you know they're my Belvoir clearly a lover of the more beverages but we get served in our little drinks reception we had this photo taken of all of us and yeah basically with the exception of a few people not being there and then we moved into the hole where we had our food and of course has a little clip of me running because when do I not run even when it's a posh event I'm still found running at some point in time but yeah so here is our kind of dining hall in college where these big formal events occur so the tables have been laid out really nicely and with each being given these personalized will not personalize these engraved flasks one of these okay so as someone who doesn't drink tea or coffee I'm not really sure why I was really excited to be given a coffee flask but hey ho I can put my little infusions in it I suppose and take that with me to lectures I mean how cool will I look burn people anyway so we all sat down the gong sounded that when we had to stand up for the grace to me read out cheeky little confession to make here I was asked to read out grace for formals but I have been too scared because you have to do it in Latin and I've never said yes they're doing it but anyway that's just a little fun fact of the day so yes the food started to come around and obviously one of the best bits as me and Lucia clearly showing you is the bread rolls today they had poppy seeds which is the best and they were so warm and moist they were literally the perfect this dress I am so used to than never being a vegan menu on the table so it's often a guessing game but today Lucy's description was actually very accurate it was this pastry thing filled with some roasted vegetables so then yes the main meal was naki and I was super excited because I've never been given Nakia too formal and as I said this was one of the best dinners I've had here so the naki was great it had this chunky tomato sauce which was actually so so good I pulled myself water managing not to spill it everywhere which would be typical of me and then I ate my greens checking that nobody was looking yeah we just went for the one full mouthful okay so this is then when I need to introduce you to little games that get played during formals at Cambridge so there is a thing called five penny which is where you basically put a 5p in someone's dessert and it means and yes Tim found it absolutely hilarious so we're just gonna have this on repeat and yes Tim is still laughing [Laughter] [Laughter] so I face-planted my vegan chocolate mousse dessert thing I was not going to fail my 5p challenge but people keep watching very closely look who steps into the camera head catering lady clearly doesn't like little games that we play I mean she obviously thought I was drunk but you guys know that I don't get drunk I get drunk on smoothies or high on water definitely not alcohol but anyways here's the Holly for the first time playing the five Kenny penny game and almost getting herself kicked out of a formal halfway through my degree I mean you never thought I'd be doing that seriously guys this mousse was amazing it was so so thick and creamy and chocolaty it was literally the best although I wasn't quite in the bad books yet because I managed to get myself a plate full of grapes when everyone was eating cheese and biscuits even though it did take quite a few attempts to ask the catering staff so whilst there are some speeches I munched on my plate full of grapes which I was very happy about and of course I gave him kindly back his 5p okay so I'll leave that for you to decide guys did it make the best book if so hit the like button and yes guys I survived the first one and a half years of my degree here at Cambridge so I thought it was just quite appropriate to finish this vlog with a few throw backs from my time here so far at uni I would have never imagined that I would be having this much fun here at Cambridge if you'd have asked me the same question a few years ago I would have definitely said that I would not settle in I would not make friends and I would not be the person that I am today but as it turns out I am here I'm having the best time of my life so this is a huge shout out to all the amazing people that I've met so far along this journey and of course to you guys because the other day we hit 50 K which is crazy I would never imagine that either so yes thank you guys for following me on this journey and of course if you're new around here and want to join the holy Gabriel fan then hit that subscribe and I'll see you in my next video guys

hey guys and welcome to my very busy Saturday at uni I had quite a bit of work to do well I plan to get a lot of stuff done today so I did work quite intensely today even though it was a Saturday and even though it's technically the weekend but as I have told you guys before I don't really have a weekend when I'm at university because every day is pretty much the same I always have work to do but anyway this morning I had been up for a while and I was out of my room by 7:30 as you just saw College was pretty quiet at that time in the morning I went straight to the print room actually after I'd done my morning usuals as you saw in my morning routine which I put up on my channel very recently but I decided to go and print out some lecture notes that I was going to be needing for today as well as an essay which I had brought back for my supervisor with some Corrections on I then headed to the library because I had to return a library book but I'm now just gonna let you laugh at me because I am very bad in libraries I never normally use them and so I have no clue how to return books and stuff like that so this is me staring at the screen because I have no clue what I am doing so I was supposed to be returning a book but I think I was doing this stuff that you you're you normally do when you take a book out so I was scanning my card and it was just making all these really weird noises and it just kept buzzing at me and bleeping I was very confused so instead of returning the book I checked out again which I didn't intend to do so I realized that that was the wrong thing when returning a book and as you can see it says returns on that cupboard and it took me a while to work that out revelation oh I see okay maybe I'll just put it in my own home there it gets returned properly that's how you return the library book you don't need to scan it I learnt that today yep so that is my college library and it just goes to show how many times I actually get library books out as a science student and yes I gave up trying to look all cool just as if a camera was magically filming me I did have to go and put that down there so let's be real guys so I then came back to my room and I decided that I wanted to sort out my folders a bit do some hole punching staple some stuff together because I had been given a few essays back and I feel that by organizing my folders first thing in the morning it just sets the day off nicely and then as usual I did my to-do list I wrote down exactly what I wanted to get done today in a specific order so that included the work that I was going to do the lectures I had to go to and the fact I needed to go to Sainsbury's at some point so I wrote that down so that I had a very strict schedule for today and then I basically sat down and started off reading the lecture notes I just printed out so we were starting a new lecture series today and as you shall see we had a two hour lecture today two hours straight because they've been rescheduled basically they were quite a dense set of lecture notes so I decided to read about half of them and then I switched to doing something else for a bit so I was reading through an essay and as you can see my mouth is moving like crazy together reading it to myself I had basically done the majority of this essay the day before and I just needed to finish it and read it make sure that it was ready to be sent to my supervisor to mark it so I was just adding some figures some diagrams and then that was ready to be sent off I then had my breakfast and stuff and as you guys know from my morning routine I always start my day off with hot lemon and as you will realize from the title of this video I study without any caffeine and what I mean by that is basically I don't drink tea or coffee so what I'm showing you now of some of these Twinings and poker and as the infusions which are kind of a type of tea but they don't contain any caffeine and the reason why I wanted to talk about this today was because I was very kindly sent some of these organic mature teas from a company called the matcha reserve so I didn't try those during the day but I'm gonna talk to you a bit about those later and I decided that I might try them in the evening so I got back to work once I was eating my breakfast I checked off the fact that I'd gone to the print room and read through my essay and read through some of the lecture notes I drank my hot lemon which I honestly love I then got back to reading through the second half of those lecture notes which I started this morning and I feel that by doing that I feel a bit more prepared on him in the lecture because I can follow along a bit better but sometimes I don't always have time to do this so change of scenery we are now in our first lecture of the day so this was for sale and development ecology and the lecture notes I was just reading were for neuro so I didn't read these lecture notes in advance because they're just purely diagrams there are a few key points but we are basically told to make her own notes which is fine I also tried to do this quiz that our lecturer had told us to do at the start but the Wi-Fi was not loading so I didn't get to do that and by the time I had turn my mobile data on the lecture basically started so this lecture series is about development because the title of the module is called cell and about mental biology so there is quite a big section on development and we've done some of this in first year but obviously it gets a bit more detailed and the concepts are a bit harder to understand but I just made my own notes do my own little diagrams to try and follow along using the lecture slides and what that actual is saying I then had an hour break between that lecture and the neuro lectures so I always in this break go to the library which is closest and I will get on with a bit of whack so there weren't that many people there but I was talking to Juliette just before she went to her psychology lecture and surprise surprise Holly whips out her banana and in line with the topic that I wanted to talk about today in this video I don't rely on stimulants so caffeine which is in tea and coffee I always feel totally energized from the food so I'm eating just to tell you what I was doing in this hour break I managed to read through the second of the essays that I'd written and I made some Corrections changed a few bits here and there and basically got that done within an hour which I plan to do I then set off at about 5:00 – as you can see there we go I set up to my lecture and here's the library this is how empty it is on the weekend because obviously most students don't have lectures on the weekends on a Saturday anyway and then I went to the lecture theatre for the two hours all neuro lectures back-to-back so here we go as you can see is he had her food at the ready and I got my water bottle out and basically spread my staff across this whole desk which was quite good although someone gave actually come and sit next to me at one point but then they left and I never saw them again so I had the best of myself but going back to the topic of caffeine I feel that as a student it's a game quite atypical you guys know I don't drink alcohol as well and it's kind of for the same reason really I don't really like the taste of tea or coffee so I don't drink it and also I don't really want to rely on a stimulant I mean people you get kind of addicted to it and feel that they need to drink tea and coffee continuously throughout the day so that they can get through work but I personally if you're drinking a lot of tea and a lot of coffee and you're really heavily reliant on it then I don't really think that's a good thing and likewise with alkaloid don't have a problem with those people who choose to drink it because they like it it's your personal choice but if you're totally reliant on it to get you through a day then I think you should maybe question it good Wow the lecturer gave us about a 10 minute break and so he was very happy about that as you can clearly see so we basically had 10 minutes to like eat some stuff even though I'd eaten my Apple during the lecture which the lecturer really doesn't mind about you doing I had my orange as well and he came to the rescue with a tissue and then we started a game with the second hour my hand at this point was starting to ache a bit but we power through and we got those two hours and lectures done and dusted and it felt super super good when you could walk out the lecture theater and breathe in some fresh air I mean that was the best feeling I think we all were quite relieved after that and then I decided that I was just gonna quickly head out to Sainsbury's and grab some food obviously bananas were on my shopping list and I just need to get some other stuff and when I got back I had my lunch as you can see if you guys would be interested in seeing a why eat in a day video and especially why eat during days like this when I'm studying quite intensely then please give this video a thumbs up if you'd be interested in that because I would definitely be up for doing that I have been staring at this washing for about a good few days now and it's just been staring back at me and I'm just hoping that by staring at this washing it will magically put itself away and get to my wardrobe and my cupboards but clearly that is not the case because it is still standing there five days later so what I'm gonna do I've just been reading that essay and I've read over it once and it's still way too long so I'm gonna have to read through it again and cut it down but I thought that it would be good to take a quick five-minute breather and just put this washing away because yeah it's not gonna put it self away unfortunately stand up stretch the legs a bit give the brain a bit of a rest because that essay is in turn man Oh literally the hardest as I say I've ever written so obviously you knew life doesn't really just involve work you've got to do your shopping do your washing and everything like that so we've got to be real about these things guys huh oh yeah at the shops now yeah for Mother's Day I've been reading through an essay and not really thinking about that but I can try and think now I'm gonna say happy Mother's Day because it is Mother's Day on the day that I'm not loading this video TK Maxx yeah have you been in TK Maxx mom laughs thinking about you who if I saw you in TK Maxx as you can see my sister and I were having some last-minute planning today oh look for mom in there as well yeah not just for yourself luckily and when he was at home and kid sort that out a bit obviously I was not gonna be able to see mom today because it's Mother's Day in the UK and I'm quite far away in Cambridgeshire we're just gonna be ruthless here with an essay that is way too long I just need to press Delete and I really don't like doing that being derived from the lineage as illustrated in figure 3 wears finger 3 wholly needing a figure 3 oh here we go again bye bye Oh so I've just finalized and rounded off tied some loose ends with three essays that I've written over the past few days where's my pen so I can cross these off might do dest I wasn't completely happy with the last one that I'd written because it was just so hard and I was just couldn't I got to the point I couldn't change anymore I feel I said that in the email and that's perfectly okay to do that and say to your supervisor or the person he's working with either you find it quite hard to write and getting that that feedback and going through it will help you so it's perfectly okay Tanna things that are not perfect you've gotta accept that and it's hard but I just just got to do it okay what's next on the agenda so that was the third essay of the day that I had just finished and finalized and sent across to my supervisor and then I moved on to making some notes from this textbook that I'd go out from the library so it seems that I use the library quite a lot in this video but it's just coincidence that the other day I went and got a few books out because I felt that it would help me understand what was going in the lectures a bit more so I got this book out for the development lectures because I felt that I needed a bit more explanation than what was given in the lecture as you saw the notes were just diagrams and I felt that it would just consolidate my understanding and help me actually clear up a few things that I wasn't quite sure about if I could go through the textbook and then just make some notes alongside I sent one of my essays to one of my supervisors so I sent them about maybe like now and a half ago and I've had one buck already this is how honored some supervisors are like that's crazy I mean I've ever had an essay back that quickly here is the textbook that was using it's called development well gee I mean who woulda guessed it's about development and it's biology very crazy title there but then after I'd made some notes I then decided to move on against something else this time I was planning and I said that I wanted to write about parasites so this was linked to my pathology module and the book that I've returned to the library in the morning was one I was using to write this other essay about atherosclerosis I think just to let you know if you were interested there we've now jumped ahead a bit because I've got a big bowl of food in front of me and I'm eating my dinner basically I had made my dinner I'd taken a break before I did this so I went and did some stuff in the gym so I hadn't just watched continuously even though it seems like I did in this video I just forgot to film anything when I was in the gym and when I was making my food but I spoke to my family at home and then I was just missing my dinner and getting on with that essay plan I could then basically cross off everything on my list today because I got basically everything done I mean I haven't finished the sa plan I hadn't finished making notes but I'd done quite a lot of it so as I said at the start of this video I have been sent these organic ceremonial mature teas so one of them is a original one and this one has been mango matcha so I decided I was gonna try them just before I went to bed and I don't know whether you should drink tea and coffee and stuff before you go to bed and because I've never tried it and maybe this was the wrong idea and it might not have helped me sleep but oh well I really wanted to try them and I'll know for next time so I basically had watched this YouTube video about how you do this because the company have made a video so you basically add half a teaspoon to a 1 teaspoon I think of the matcha depending on how strong you want it into a bowl or a mug I was using this bowl because I didn't have a mark that was wide enough to fit the whisk thing in you then add some boiling water and you like whisk it around in a W shape I think so I was paying close attention to this video and I wanted to do it right I obviously didn't had very much water as you can Dowe it looks like literally nothing but I added some more water and whisked it around a bit and then I basically tried it as I said I've never tried matcha before in my life I've never really had tea so I mean hey goes wrong alright pretty smooth I haven't made very much because I don't know if I'm gonna like it this is the first time I ever had matcha and the first time I had like caffeine really like I've tried to you coffee I've never actually had a whole mug of it or anything I mean this is not homework anyway a little bit hmm it's a very subtle taste I think it's like a tea green tea taste issue miss it smells like green tea not bad so I just drank my matcha tea and I read somewhere of the textbook that I was reading before but I just wasn't making any notes before I went to bed I will also share with you guys when I tried the mind go on because you guys know I love mangoes and they have it guys that is my study with me at university today for this week which was pretty intense and as you saw I did not rely on numerous cups of tea or coffee to get me through the day I feel totally energized just from foods that I'm eating and I would just like to say thank you to the mat Reserve again for sending me out your ceremonial teas to try because that was the first time I ever had match it thanks for watching guys and I'll speak to you soon

hello guys and welcome to my exam season morning routine exam season seems to come around so quickly every year but here goes this is my morning routine for my exam season of my final year at the University I set my alarm for 6:00 and yes I push through and get out of bed at 6 a.m. I will run to the toilet and you know do my business and then I will come back and make my bed even though some may say you should era I do like to make it and this is my favorite bedding ever I'll then go through the bathroom and get dressed straightaway so put on my deodorant and mine on a sweatshirt because what else am i wearing and these fancy socks today with cute bananas on I'll turn my lights on and drink a load of water this never changes I usually drink to whore me some jars water it's ok to drink tap water from the UK but sometimes it is a bit cloudy but it does settle so it's all fine I'll then do my teeth so I take my retainers out which I do store in a jam jar I'm just reusing it I'll do my hair but that usually means just taking it out from the bun I slept in I'm putting it back up in a bun and then you know guess what it's 6:30 and I'm gonna start working I am most productive in the morning first thing so I will get scrap pieces of paper and either plan an essay recite something from memory or write an essay today I was just gonna do a plan but it turned out into a whole essay which I wrote on scrap paper I decided that I would write the essay on something that I had been learning I'm revising the previous day I knew what the exam question was because I had seen it before so I just wrote the key words in the centre and was planning on just making a plan as I said but it turned out to be a full essay which I wrote in about an hour at this time I'm usually starting to get a bit hungry so I will just put the essay in the pile of my plans other essays that I have written open my curtains to get some you know natural light in so I can turn my actual room lights off and then just quickly push through the hunger signals and whisk right my to-do list check my diary but it should be pretty empty in exam time and then just get everything out that I want to do after I have eaten my breakfast so I will get my folder that I'm gonna be working on today I sometimes will make a list of the things that I would still like to prioritize and go through first before I do anything else so these are usually the gaps in my revision stuff that I haven't got notes on or stuff that I don't feel very confident about so I would just make a list of that and that helps me to structure my day I quickly go to the kitchen to grab everything that has been drying from the previous evening put it in my cupboard and take the rest of it back to my room and the best part of the morning yes is making my breakfast so you guys know if you have seen a lot of my videos I tend to start my day with a smoothie I add bananas and frozen mango and pineapple spinach then almond milk and flaxseed I'm also using and loving this perform protein powder at the moment which you can get discount off in the description box below it makes me feel good starting my day with a green smoothie it's my favorite it's obviously really dense and got a lot of nutrient rich foods and to start my day and give me lots of energy I usually put about half a scoop of protein powder and I don't add it every day but every few days I would say I pour it into my mason jar and I'll then either use a metal straw but today I was using my bamboo one I'll normally have a piece of fruit on the side as well so today I had an orange for some vitamin C and I do then take some supplements so vitamin b12 vitamin d3 which is a vegan vitamin d3 as well as Casa 10 which has bitumen Sienna that's for my hay fever and just keep my symptoms at bay especially in the summer and exam time I don't really want to have puffy eyes you know it's a pain but there natural remedy actually really helps and I get it from Holland and Barrett when I am drinking my smoothie I will then crack on with some other work if you have seen some of my other morning routines I just kind of want to mention this I usually do yoga in the morning however exam season I kind of have to compromise a bit and I usually do yoga when I'm working out or doing my exercise for the day as I said at the start of the video I like to take advantage of the fact that I feel most productive in the morning and I feel as if my brain is most active so you know I will revise and try and learn as much as possible so that involves scribbling things down on pieces of paper normally and making flashcards I have an Apple watch which I will tend to put on midway through the morning I sometimes use it to help me put on a timer for example if I'm revising or working or trying to learn something in a set amount of time later on in the morning I will start to use my computer so I don't like to go on at first thing because I just feel that otherwise it gives me a bit of a headache when I am on my computer I will be doing a bit of research I've had to do quite a lot of extra reading this time so if I feel the theraphy gaps in my knowledge I am trying to do some research I also do my emails as well at some point in the morning so this is usually at around 11:00 I will do my emails and then take a break to get a snack and make myself a drink so today I got myself an apple and if you've seen my recent videos I am storing some of my food in these reusable bags so you don't absolute plastic and they are from coconut balls one of my favorite companies ever I then use some lemon that I have stored to make a hot lemon I also added some rice puffs into my coconut bowl with some almond milk to make like cereal kind of Bowl I don't know what you'd call that I also added some shredded coconut for me I take this as a second mini breakfast this is my FX socks and flip-flops I will go to the kitchen and bow the kettle so that I can make myself my hot lemon as I said and take it back to my room so my brain has worked pretty intensely first thing in the morning so in the kind of second half I will just be as I said on my computer and making some notes or writing notes by hand which is what I am doing now and yes of course I am using plain paper I don't use anything other than plain paper when I am making my notes on this day the weather was so bad we got it downpour I managed to finish those no it's quite quickly so that I could take a few things off my to-do list so this was the list of the topics that I wanted to go over obviously the work I am doing every morning will differ but it's usually work in some shape or form I will then go on my phone for the first time late morning so I would just check Instagram and reply to any messages or reply to any texts or Facebook messages you know do all this stuff on socials and I will tend to open my window it was raining but today the weather was so strange it was really sunny at one point and it got quite warm I will then go to the kitchen and do the washing up from the morning which I like to try and get done and not leave it possible especially if I've used the straw and then the last thing that I did this morning is go over some of my sticky notes on my wall which I've been making as you guys might have seen in some of my blogs I hope you enjoy it this morning routine guys yes it's pretty intense but you feel quite productive at the end of that and hopefully it's going to pay off in the end bye guys you

I have no socks and that running low on because in general we just need to do it this is where all my socks are so much washing so have a thumb war Sheng since I've been here so it's been probably like two weeks which is quite a long time and that's when I start to run out of socks I have one pair of socks sighs so I decided I would start my Monday off with some laundry this is why I don't like watching we're gonna change machines okay so on a new machine I feel really bad because somebody might use that it's got the wrong thing in it I don't know how you like to let it drain out I don't know how these machines work to be honest to me it happens so much of this stubborn I want my clothes soft let's got 40 minutes oh you're not straight good morning guys it's Monday and I decided I was gonna do some because I was basically out of a lot of underwear and stuff so it's a great way to start my Monday but anyway relative high I'm gonna go and get my soup kitchen so this is my only pair of socks I have left it's actually the socks I was wearing sometimes just before I go to bed so yeah we really needed to do some washing oh wow look at my don't judge the frizz anyway I have currently 22 minutes until my washing is done you can tell I love fishing see I'm gonna be drinking my smoothie and learn something okay so my timer has just gone off I'm gonna basically finish my smoothie so pretty good timing Verena who I've ever wash in here so we're gonna put it on the air off okay so I'm just like you know using a snack it's that time of the morning and just made myself a whole lemon this might be incredibly boring but at the same time I think it might be quite interesting because I saw it as one of the comments on my morning routine somebody asked what I write on my to do this like what is on that so either what I may as well just like tell you we only just finished the pink which was the top layer if you see in some of my last videos but we're already on the orange because I'm using it for this poor thing yeah so jess is my old to do this and I'm gonna make one for this week which is orange anyway so to-do list I am going to talk you through what I write I'm going to do this i'm i would show you directly but it's got some stuff on it like aren't you yeah sigh let's just put you down a little bit I split my to-do list in half so I always draw a line down the middle so do you work on one side and then everything else goes on the other side I just like to split it up then let's start with the other so that's everything other than study related work today I want to go to Sainsbury's so I'm gonna write that down we'll go to the shops of some sort I'm probably gonna go this evening so it'll be scenes breeze to get bananas I need to send some images some like pictures and stuff to coconut balls for them to use on their accounts I need to oh yeah so I need to send something to one of the girls in cute arse like the social sack who is Lim she wanted me to write something ages ago and I still haven't done it and I feel so bad so I'm just gonna write down on them cute ass okay so I need to do something but stuff that I can't tell you about so I'm gonna write that down I'm doing something else with Eureka Eureka is like a vegan ice cream place in London I've worked with them before they like really kind of new types of ice cream and then the last thing I'm gonna write down is by pens so I need some like bio type things just to make sure that I have enough for exams so I'll try and get this today when I go to Sainsbury's um so that is everything on my other side in terms of revision I don't tend to write that down because I've just got my revision timetable I just follow but there are some stuff that I still need to make a few notes on or do a bit more reading for so that's why I write down on my to-do list so I'm just gonna basically split it into my two main kind of modules so one of them is immunology and then the other one is CJD so that's like cancer and genetic disease so it's cancer and genetic disease it's like two parts but you can't really split up because cancer is a genetic disease with loads of other stuff going on so yeah and then I'm just gonna write down the stuff that the topics that I still need to go over that's not that much for CJD but like three things to do for that and then the other one immunology I've got a bit more to do that and some of the topics I might not even do if I don't have time because I don't think I would answer a question on some of the lectures that we were given oh yeah there's this one kind of big thing that you do in case hours and reproduction Tisa Oh viruses man okay so they want to do criminology let's see JD that's looking okay I worked really hard on the weekend to get a lot of those notes done and he's still up printing today Oh printing let's write that down on the other side Oh Nona stuff I want to talk to Emily about that is there anything else I didn't my washing so that's right washing down across earth so I have a one thing crossed off I feel so much more productive if I can cross one thing off so I just write something down for the sake of being able to cross it off anyway that is wanting to do this that might have been super super boring but I saw that comment and I was like I may as well it's not too fancy it's just the list a lot of stuff to do right now I'm gonna finish mother like cereal kind of bowl thing I'm gonna keep rising okay so I was just doing some stuff that I had to do it was actually all mine to do this so I had to send some messages and do some stuff for this thing I can't tell you so he can cross it off did I do anything else I sent messages to my sister this morning but she's clear like no wake or something oh she's just not wanting to reply to me and then I'm thinking of this evening does a class contemporary I learn to state yet so I'm gonna try and go to that because I really want to go to a class her choreography is so good so yeah I thought that today I would actually go to dance because I haven't been made no competition team and stuff but yeah stressed Holly is just like I just don't that myself do anything kind of fun and go to darts I don't know why this is just stressed Holly um but I'm gonna trying it on it's like I'm gonna make myself go guys like I know that I will feel good afterwards because I've like scenes and people I've not just mean in my room on my own now though I'm just kind of like make my lunch and down with more like dude a guest it's been really cold today super cold in my room so the other day I have a first surprise it was it will stop today to see me yeah oh just do my hair and put some like lip stuff on because my lips are so dry they're cracked that was phenomenal by the way she's aphasia engineer i'm always normally in the kitchen on my own but yeah other people share it quite a lot of people sure actually I've just clearly did my hair and I'm gonna quickly run to the print room to put my stuff come back to my room on ghost chance dances are noona them I should really leave enough time but this is me I'm always leaving things till the last minute to get that like 5 minutes just like what's a really big help something that's why I do actually have a lot of stuff to print so I nice just walk to the other side of college well the program is how much you'd be outside today this is actually nice to be outside and breathe some fresh air this is one of my favorite bits of college I love all the trees and you know just looks so pretty I whispered double-sided just till you no no save paper so yesterday the printer was things really yes super okay oh I'm not gonna put anything else oh the ink is running out and I basically can't write that it's a bank holiday as well think probably okay so what I'm gonna do I think is get my bike and cycle to dance I think I was planning on walking but I think I should really go to Sainsbury's and just get that stuff done so I'm going pee so I'm gonna get on my bike and then after dance I will read Sainsbury's I also have no bananas at all it came in the wrong entrance I don't know about that one leads to but it doesn't lead to my room so I need to go in this entrance not that one yeah I was seeing when I was in the kitchen I'm not anything I finished what I was saying basically my parents came up mom and dad came up to see me and surprised me I was in the gym and mom ran into the gym no joke she ran it and and she said she was gonna come and sit on the bike next to me if it was free but it wasn't so she runs into the gym and I was like what well I was like who's this and what it's nice I like jumped on my bike and ran out both of them with us standing there I was like the gym I was just a little hike oh my god it was like the best feeling I'm so happy I had no clue they were coming I was messaging mum about a few minutes before I saw them and one was like oh speak later I think she was that and I was just like ah anyway um I'm gonna be cooking I haven't really seen that many people this time just the nature of me walking in my room not going to libraries and yeah so I am a bit not gonna lie oh look the helmets back though I don't see this in a while very well believe still but yeah this time it will hopefully it's gonna be worth there and you know it's only like transient you know everything is transient in your life so you just got to get through the kind of lowish times or they're not great times so then see the good times anyway you know it actually feels so much colder in my room than it is outside it's actually an okay temperature the sky looks like it's let you get up or down look now that's not gray then I don't know what is but yeah I still like look at the difference massive gray cloud I don't know if it's supposed to rain or not but I would predict is gonna rain based on that sky oh there's my like I almost went pasta hello trapped in there ghostly white there was a radiator on in the room and it just makes my ears go super red and I feel really stressed I know noona is so nice for like oh you want me comments on this is noonim it's very pretty it looks like a boarding school but it's very pretty the black what Oh they purple oh I think I'm gonna cut my camera way my feet because the bike is for a 12 year old a 21 year old bye guys see you Oh almost crashed you know what guys I am one big Egypt I who I was bank holiday so Sainsbury's was closed and I was standing outside the door like why is it closed and then I realized and I was soaking back better spike holiday shows how much I think about these things I suppose like someone's making of God so I'm making pasta ah these are notorious for being really difficult open that's very impossible it's like a really good sauce that was good yes mmm I love the smell of pasta sauce success the other day we had this thing replaced this new set of hops because there was something wrong with the kitchen like all the kettles weren't working some bitchy home type thing but some veg a Red Lantern pasta it's one of those days when I just want like nice pasta sauce quick and easy pasta the badge tumeric attritional yeast and Heaney that is it very simple but very good all right I'm gonna get in the shower basically I'm just go to bed I think because it's like halftime show you guys I think basically a my athletes in a hurry or stopped working so far I've used it once and it's pretty good I haven't won one last time and it's a bran wonder game it's the bran soup appeal mine and I just upgraded I had a burr on one before I think it's really good and yeah this is just a newer version it's like can be used wet or dry by probably just use it dry and it's like cordless so you charge it which is really useful it was like for only 50 pounds now I like a really decent investment my last one lasted me so long I didn't have to learn but razors or anything you just turn him on it has like two speeds so yeah that's basically a nap later obviously it's not like you don't have to do it I do mention this one I've already talked about this stuff because I don't want you guys to feel as if you have to do it if you are wanting to like do your legs or your office I would definitely recommend using a nap later I mean it can be super painful at the start but now I am very sensitive to the pain it doesn't hurt at all and you reap the benefits of like not having to shave like every other day or every day yeah I am polemics to give you a figure it's like every three to four weeks I would do max in the summer maybe a bit more but yeah it's so good and I do my office as well it also gave us some other fancy things I also just wanted to mention kind of semi related to this I mentioned in one of my videos me from last time oh yeah my zero waste video I was getting a safety razor because every one of these plastic ones anymore and here is basically a safety reasons my plastic ones you're reducing waste in that way I put it in this bag which is like a sunglass this thing I found lying around pretty useful it's not TMI you've got a dog about these things come on I just thought I would share in case you were interested in maybe updating more getting your sanctuaries it wasn't as harsh as a disposable one as well I'm gonna get in shower and I'll probably say bye known and the video here because there's not really much where I'm gonna do are we doing a new routine next probably I'll speak to another video guys if you enjoyed this look please like it I'm stop coming for my red hands as you speak to you in another video you guys you

one of the things that is really unique and special about computer science degree in Cambridge is that you're gonna be taught by cutting at world leaders in their own fields who are really excited about their work the course of Cambridge involves pretty much anything that you can think of to do with computers and technology from really foundationally theoretical material on automation of mathematics at one extreme – intense funding projects at the other I've always been fascinated by the way that computers can solve problems both for myself and for other people and that's that's really really interested in me so it seemed like a natural thing to study when I went to university I've always enjoyed doing logic puzzles small challenges and also I wanted to learn everything that I could about computers which I think computer science embodies perfectly but also I want it to be in a really good challenging environment which Cambridge offers and have all these brilliant minds around me computer science at Cambridge seemed just the right course our course is structured so that we teach our students the theoretical background that underpins the principles of computer science but also with their hands-on experience of putting that theoretical knowledge into practice my favorites perience on the course so far has been the group project in my second year in which I worked with a group of people to produce a piece of software for a company I got to present the project to all the other students and the people from other companies and it was really exciting the employability prospects for our graduates are really first-rate we're also a very intrapreneurial place so lots of our graduates go on to found their own companies and startups one thing that we find out when we start studying computer science is that this is a subject that opens up so many different doors we can we can work in many different fields doing many different things what I would like to do is go and work for a software company and maybe with that learn some skills in my own so I can I can start my own in the future and solve problems my own way by applying for masters and then going on to do research either here at your lab or an industrial research I feel I will be able to bring a contribution to the field of computer science fundamentally computer science ends up being about solving really hard problems in the best possible way so if there's one key thing that you couldn't come away from the Cambridge degree in computer science with it's being a really really good problem solver we are genuinely interested in people who are self motivated and passionate about technology if you're curious then come to us and we will teach you the theoretical and the practical ways of how you can build systems that are going to make our world a better place Oh

oh why like why ah good morning guys oh I haven't spoken to you guys for a while I just have been already busy but like you know I mean it's exam season not very exciting – Tuesday partly making the morning smoothly leave a life good everywhere Oh what I didn't actually thought I was gonna get one on today look at the mess I just mind oh man okay there we go I have nothing to do today which is a standard for me this time what someone to do this is there anything yes I've got a few bits to do but in exam season I just tend to follow like my exam timetable my revision timetable sorry we are doing genetics which is like one kind of big topic within one of my modules and I'm just currently revising this little booklet that I've made it's kind of like flashcards but it's actually on lined little bits of paper I think my mum made when my brother was doing revision she made these little kind of flashcards that he didn't use so what else do I wanna say so this is it like there's nothing more for me to say other what I'm doing in terms of black and talk about random stuff and food because like I am just in my room advising on my own and this is gonna be like a vlog kind of study with me thing as usual kind of studied a vlog because that's my life right now it's not exciting but relative and the grand scheme of things right now this is exciting we have some new flashcards hello from WH Smiths they're quite small and they have plain paper which is what I like in a good flashcard they're actually really fast as well the ring is quite small time the once I got previously these are like really good quite good size and they were playing they didn't have lines and they were from walking systems that we have them at home already like quite a few leftovers I think we obviously must have got nauseous oh they don't have them anymore in Wilkinson's which is really annoying because they were my paper okay so I'm just gonna do some like emails and then I'm making hot Lo and get something to eat because I'm hungry yeah I was just revising that stuff and then everything overlaps everywhere I was revising that tiny bit like for them something else linked to this other topic and intertwine somehow and that's good in some ways but in other ways it's quite difficult because there is just so much overlap it's just a bit like where do you draw the line you can't draw a line so you can't be like this is the topic I'm revising cuz you can always link it the other stuff anyway or do something else also so my wall that I showed you guys in my last video it's kind of grown a bit I'm not really sure how well this is gonna help me but I'm hoping that it will it looks quite cool but yeah I like definitely prefer flashcards over stop it down on the wall but I didn't have flashcards for a few days so now I have a big load of flashcards which is good I actually realized I'm wearing odd socks today I didn't even realize when I put them on this morning that they were odd yeah this one oh this one's Tuesday that's Tuesday today but this one's not you say back to the grind 8 feels like I've been up for so long I am gonna be doing morning and evening routines for exam season so like if you want to see those and I will film edit those hopefully soon yeah okay this is perfect it's not my favorite yeah I haven't even shown you my duvet look at this this is my bedding that my mom got me when I was back at home like how amazing is this bedding it says I have a cardio and I was like avocado is doing cardio which is like the best thing and then it's got like avocados all over the the she got it from George and Asda and it came in like minimal packaging as well it was like new and minimal packaging I was just like um see others like the best betting ever I love I'm gonna tie my hair up and give to the gym actually quite Marie so that's quite crinkly today like washed in it smells really nice but now I'm trying out because I need to go to the gym and also I just went my hair is annoying a button um my ears go super rad and I feel as if it stresses me I feel super hot I just can't do so the hair is gonna go up now and it's not gonna go back down because I just can't deal with red is oh it's a horrible feeling like I was sitting there and like if I'm getting redder and redder see that red like you see the red and that's a sign I need to like do something else so I'm going to the gym you've got to know when you're feeling a bit stressed very right now and yeah when I have my hair down it makes that was hence why I don't have my hair down I feel as it was hot enough for shorts so they're just wearing these shorts oh my gosh I actually like these shorts because they have an inner bit and I have two of these tops but I got from one of our dance competitions so I worked quite a lot it's okay it's already busy like in general anyway but yeah that's fine I'm super good well how did we judge listening to my sister's like don't really know yes actually mention of these songs one pastor came to gym but it was basically and he's doing exercise and moving my body is like the major stress relief for me also like going outside I just can't not oh I'm not gonna have one because my Tommy is : food I just made my usual bowl of oats looks very colorful you might have seen on my Instagram you might not see on my Instagram IRA sent these from coconut balls you guys know I've been affiliated coconut balls for such a long time and I wanna see love coconut balls like everything is in coconut balls my lunch is in coconut balls it's not surprised and they've released the new range it's called like taste without waste and it's these bag things that you can store food in like fresh food all that dry food and they come in so different sizes so this is that big one a lot of them in the kitchen with stop in but you've got like a little baby one and another baby one this is a medium there's also a medium this is the medium sized one yeah honestly love them so you can obviously use my discount code which you can always use anything you want from coconut balls originally watch of them on the recipe book that they launched that's how I kind of became an affiliate with them and since I've obviously loved coke levels mmm something is a wet so I was setting like the big bundle thing the big bundle also comes with this Hessian bags got like the taste without wasting on which is really cute so yeah I'm gonna eat my lunch now and do more work do this is like the start of my afternoon evening session of why I like going to the gym or doing something I know the day it just breaks everything up yeah that's how I just like to stretch my day and I think that's why a lot of people want the gym because I go got quite a weird time it is like coming ups 8 o'clock and I was gonna go to Sainsbury's yeah I basically finished this whole set of flashcards today and I filled it completely which is good in some ways but then it's like there's so much information in this little thing I'm gonna just quickly run run swiftly walk the scenes breeze and then come back and make food I don't need quite late that's just kind of my kind of vibe I've always finished my three days right I'm gonna be reprint some stuff out as well but yeah let's just go to add water and then go just say it's breathe and then the faster I do that the first I got like in her food all right Maxine's raise that thing there is like Senate house where I will actually graduate in June I always just carry bags like this in on the bag so that I don't have to you know buy plastic bags or you know use excess plastic that's a good shout just always have like hassium bags in your all your bags that you take with you because you never know when you might buy something it's like how nice Kings looks every time I see it I'm just like I'm in Hogwarts or something I sometimes think to myself like am I gonna miss this place and yes I think I will but once you've been trapped inside the Cambridge bubble for three years it's kind of nice to escape I think and it's just a very kind of strange place if you've been in the bubble you'll know I mean and I just can't wait they're just like move on to something out because a scary bag so I think the second time yeah it was also back that I was my favorite restaurant ever in Cambridge the vegan vegetarian rainbow cafe but they moved it like shut down and something else is that and I'm just see that's not the reason why should stay here because the rain big happy isn't here anymore so we're gonna go in my dad's favorite door ever let me say oh yeah so I missed the door she said well I know my college site I never realized I could get through this tiny door by can because I have my card like look at that and then you come in here I think I'll definitely miss the grass looking like this and I mean it's just like so perfect they're just kinda there are some sort of fancy dinner going on in old oh yeah I actually went to call purse the other day I've never been to call post before I might because that Lancer got a few of us tickets to go I'm gonna go show that flies yeah apparently in Corpus the hall has been redone so it's where I repainted and everything it's like honestly incredible must take ages but the food as well I was expecting not very much especially because like I'm vegan and alanders told me before that we cannot very good they've just been like salad Oh like one carrot and I'm not even exaggerating but no I got like this main sized portion for their starter it was like Nakia was passed it was so good then the main was like this lentil II thing with a stroke the ostrich was a bit weird I was in vinegar but hey the litters dad was like this kind of thing it was so good the food was like on point so yeah I rake corpus vegan food it's time to make some food and then I'm feeling pasta or rice and pretty sure I'm so happy notes I've got to open in the whole thing I don't know am I feeling kind of stressed I feel as if I'm feeling a bit stressed but I don't like to admit like stress I kind of know Dijon I am getting you guys dressed I just I'm late guys no I'd only I'm giving off stress through the screen I don't like the shot though hopefully I don't show it very much but yeah I am feeling a tad stressed I'm gonna find home now I was waiting to my sister and so long I feel like that might help so I might try and call her by name every day when that rain helps me this is when I feel a bit more homesick than usual when I'm kind of stressed worried about Sam's died my friends I'm low battery it's gonna die I said Emily's gonna answer we should gonna also probably walk this is the thing should always a lot you gonna call me yeah and the state or the shriek oh yeah it's just too good I just can't not leave this week on no I have so much washing up to me let me do it anyway I find this way to Emily so good feels so much better I wouldn't have but some home vibes from FaceTime and yeah I've made myself this big rice ball I tried to like make something similar to what my mom made me before I came but I kind of drained the rice and mix everything in when it was quite sticky so then go quite fun but I also made like in the middle and it turned out okay it was really slippery yeah this is what I kind of made just like some white rice with some veg mixed in and then in the middle I just made like a mix of onion and mushroom I was gonna put in some beans but I like forgot when I was speaking to Emily and yeah I miss them like tahini why do I not used to hear me and some spices and everything yes Oh in this massive bowl this is my hand and this is the size of the ball it's like a huge huge bowl that was like ugliest show of my hand and I know my hands are ugly but yeah you know you guys like my avocado socks match my bedding not the PJs but the socks like how good is this gray on gray on gray with the avocados so just been washing away with the flash cause basically day my app ELISA broke halfway through I was updating my legs so I've done one of them and have done the other one and it comes out so I haven't one smooth legged one hairy like it was just not great look I've never shaved my legs basically does I ever like that the other day to make it equal like I had two smooth legs I have to shave I was actually really gutted anyway I need to order myself later and then she in a test again tomorrow just in case it's come back to life but you know like it doesn't spill anymore making this thing means lost it already old iOS I know okay I'm gonna go to bed now so I'm gonna say why I hope you enjoyed this video like if you enjoyed it and I'll speech you nursing nice thanks as always for watching

[Applause] [Applause] hello and welcome to the 2019 edition of how to get into Oxford University and with me today we have Lucy gone hello he's joining us it talked about step by step processes from A to Z on how to get in and Lucy herself is a graduate of history for undergraduate of Mullen College and then did their master's of studies in modern history but be aware that modern history at Oxford starts at 1680 so it's more like medieval history but you know I'm sure she can talk about that Lucy thanks so much for joining thank you cool alright Lucy so what is the process what is the first thing first of all you know one of the deadlines okay so the most important deadlines to remember is October 15th the year before we plan to attend Oxford so say you're currently in the UK system and you are near 30 in year 12 you would want to apply by October 15th of your year 13 year so the year before you're going to university and it's the same same day every single year and first of all our international students allowed to apply and if so is it the same date for internationals as it is for UK applicants yes this is a deadline everybody has to stick to and I believe it's 6 p.m. GMT time as well so it's at that you can check the deadlines in the exact time on you cast website but it's this exact same deadline for everybody ok so the deadline for oxford application is 15th of october 6 p.m. London time when you're in your last year of school so if you're hoping to start at Oxford in September 2020 you need to apply by 15th of October 2019 ok great and Lucy how do you apply okay so the first step is to complete your new cast application so that's the actual application form and so that comprises of a personal statement you detail you've provided personal details your work history your education history your teachers also fill out a reference that gets sent along with your youth house form so that's the first thing and once that's complete there are additional steps for Oxford you will probably need to send in additional work for instance when I was applying for my history course I had to send in a history essay I'd done as as at school for the Cheetahs to have a look at I also had an entrance test which is known as the hat the history aptitude test you will probably sit this at your school and the day you normally take that in late October early November and just in jump in and that on your screen right now is the link to a separate video describing what a UK application is so in that video in great depth we're going through every single step of you casts so take a look at that if you're interested the other important thing to remember for you Cass is that you send that to every single University so you can pick up to five universities and you can only pick Oxford or Cambridge and then the same form gets sent to everyone so that personal statement where you detail why you really want to go to university where you want to study a particular subject is going to be read by your the admissions tutors at Oxford or at UCL which happy universities you've chosen okay and you see a lot of the comments from the video with it for this last year on how to get into Oxford the 28th in addition a lot of the comments have been you need to go to private school do you need to know someone you know do you need to have rich parents to you know what's what's your experience so my personal background is I went to a state school that was for the entirety of my education and got in with I did have some help for tutoring in math but that was about it so it's not something you need it's just as opposed it can seem very scary at first sometimes and it's quite different from the other universities and that you also have interviews and so on so having someone else he's gone through that experience actually explain it to you so it's not this scary opaque institution but a lot of the time you read about in the press it seems to be I'd say that's helpful but it's definitely not necessary and you really shouldn't be put off by the thought that only a certain type of person goes to Oxford okay okay that's that's really interesting and just just to add from me so I'm an international student originally I'm half Indian half Ukrainian yes I was the dedicated in the private school in the UK but it was able to get a place dog food and generally speaking I believe there is no difference whether you're domestic or international students and you know you're treated the same would you you say yeah definitely I think you can actually find Oxford has a policy on international students and it doesn't have a quota except for medical students about how many how many internationals they can accept or not accept which I know some other universities do have yeah and just add I think the thing to be aware of it's not the fact that international students are discriminated against it's more the fact that international students often lack understanding of how the system works and that's why there are a few alternative international students getting compared to mmm-hmm okay and in terms of actually getting in so Oxford would have many talented applicants with great GCC's great a levels or IB or a PS how do you you know how do you actually get in like what what makes somebody stand out okay so they'll be looking for a few different things when you first submit the form and they did our first round of assessing people they'll be looking at your education background so if you've gone to school in the UK you'll have GCSEs and you also have predicted a level IB grades this is something they'll definitely be paying attention to so for GCC's you want probably mostly aids any stars or if in the new grading system they'll be eight and nine it's okay if you've got the occasional one that isn't I can be is maybe a B or C but you want to be mostly having top top marks there because they'll be looking at that as an indicator of how well you're gonna go on to do and again you will also want to have strong predicted grades because they are wanting to make sure that you're going to be able to meet the offer that they'll give you so they'll be looking at that they'll read your teacher references at that time as well if you sent in any submitted work they'll also be having a look over that don't read your personal statement and then lastly if you took any admissions tests they'll be looking at your marks there so they're the things they'll be considering at that point and then based on those they'll make a decision as to whether they're going to call you to interview so it's normally about mid November to early December you'll start to hear whether you've made it through to the next round and whether you've been caught in to your Oxford and an interview this is this sort of famous mysterious part that a lot of people you know really scared about and it's there's a lot of mystery power consumed what actually happens during the interview so it really depends on the college and the course but mostly it's a very academic interview so it's not like an interview pups had for a job or even if you are applying to the US and that sort of college interview it's entirely based around your subject so for me for instance in one of my interviews I turned up twenty minutes beforehand and I had an extract to read over and I also had a source to look at and this source was like a medieval picture so I had 20 minutes to think about that and then I went in and I basically discussed them and the tutors were asking me questions and I had to try and reach for different answers and that's the sort of thing you'll be doing in any of the interviews you're probably for maths there might be some problems that you have to go through together and then they'll throw in some new information and see how you adapt to that but it will mostly be trying to see how your brain works and whether you are able to cope in a situation that's basically a tutorial which is how they teach our Oxford and and just to add on everything that Lucy has said is is a point that a lot of people miss is that Oxford and Cambridge and maybe one or two other universities are different to the majority of universities but Oxford employs this tutorial system which is where you have lectures you go to lectures and and then you have a an essay to write and sort of couple dozens books to read and then once a week you will meet up with with your tutor who can be a world expert in this particular field and then and you have to present your problem sheet or your essay to him or her and then normally you have another student in the room for an hour this Jeeter basically destroys you and makes you feel really bad about your work and sort of why you completely worthless and not quite good enough and and and so this one-on-one intensive sort of ping-pong session is what makes Oxford different so the interview process is is often there to see which students can cope with that especially having come through through schools which do not operate like this and and and who cannot so you can often prepare yourself for the interview by just stimulating these interviews you know with your best friend your dog your mom and dad and just preparing him yeah practising talking through things is always good and particularly for something like maths you probably never really had to discuss a solution out loud that's not really I remember my math lessons going for instance yeah exactly listen I'm just wrapping up so you've done your interviews you've gone through everything when do you find out the decision so you'll have your interviews and these depend on your subject could be done and dusted in a single day if you do an art subject it could be kept around for almost a week sometimes so I think I turned up Tuesday evening and I finally like was able to leave Oxford Friday afternoon and then basically you would then hear mid-january as to whether you've gotten a pace or not because the tutors will have made their decisions by the time you leave and you are told but you couldn't leave and they've done with the interviews okay and then is that it sort of you just have it offering you'd turn up or have any more exams to do so you'll normally given what's called a conditional offer in the UK at least you normally then set your a-level exams in that summer so you'll be given an offer based on the fact that you'll have to get say three years and I start a or a star a star or also maybe a certain I be great so the offer will be based on you meeting those conditions if you've already taken a levels or I B's or finished your high school education it would then be an unconditional offer okay great Lucy last question what would be your top three tips for prospective applicants when they applied to Oxford don't be discouraged by a supposed stereotypes there are a lot of different people at Oxford the most important thing is if you're passionate about a subject that's what the tutors are really looking for and that's what is going to make a compelling application so they they want this a student that yes you're very bright but they're really excited to study their particular object and they're just very passionate about it so that's the main thing if rather than the fact that you just want to go to Oxford you want to go to Oxford to study X why is that basically okay so I think we can break that up into three parts first of all don't be discouraged you have nothing to lose by by submitting an application secondly pick something you love and you're truly passionate about and apply apply for your passion and I think the third one is just work hard yep definitely good luck great thank you Thank You Lucy I hope you enjoyed our videos you can click here for more and you can click right here to subscribe

We are proud to present five public lectures to mark 150 years of scholarship at Girton. The Founders’ Science Lecture is presented by Professor Dame Pratibha Gai FREng, FRS. Chair of Electron Microscopy and Founding Co Director at The York JEOL Nanocentre, she is one of Britain’s best known physicists and the first to create a microscope capable of perceiving chemical reactions at the atomic scale. Reflecting something of her Girton heritage, she has not patented that machine, to ensure that its scientific potential is realised to the full.

Her Lecture is titled “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN! Atoms in Action for Energy, Environment and Healthcare“.

Read the review by Professorial Fellow of Girton College, Chris Ford here:

so welcome ladies and gentlemen to to get in car I'm the mistress of guests and Susan Smith and it's my pleasure to welcome everyone here to to enjoy the founders science lecture which is going to be delivered tonight by Professor Dame Pratibha guy now as well as being our first founder science lecture which I'm very pleased to see so many wonderful and eminent scientists joining us it's also the second lecture in a series of public lectures of five public lectures that we're mounting to celebrate the foundation of Girton College 150 years ago the College for Women which is what it was at the time opened its doors to five pioneering students in October 1869 and it's that pioneering spirit that has inspired these lectures that you're attending today now it is true that neither of our principal founders were scientists Emily Davis and Barbara Bowdoin were however absolutely committed to the principle that all subjects in any university should be open to women which they most assuredly were not in 1869 and they were determined that women should have the opportunity to study these subjects in the same way and to the same level as men and that's why ladies Stanley of elderly and some of you were in the Stanley library there lady Stanley funded the college laboratory that opened in 1877 at a time when women were banned from the Cavendish laboratory and from the lectures of at least warning three Cambridge professors but our founders were certain from the start you see and of course they be approved to rights that women could do just as well as men sometimes even better so it was that among the 700 or so students who passed through this College in the late 19th century just under 10 percent were natural scientists and around 20 percent more were mathematicians and the trajectory has continued upwards for a flavor of those early days after the lecturer I could invite you perhaps to look at some of our panels on some of our early scientists and other eminent scholars and there are actually some panels around the history of the college that you might like to look at on your way through to the drinks reception which tell you something about her early days but just to give you a flavor I've just picked out three early women's scientists to give you a flavor of what went on Hertha Ayrton for example was born in the 1850s she was an engineer a mathematician a physicist and an inventor and she gave the first presentation ever by a woman to the Royal Society she secured the Hughes medal for her work on the electric arc and thus andropause and she registered no fewer than 26 different patents which perhaps is not much these days that at the time I think it was quite a remarkable total unlike so many of her old catonian contemporaries she worked tirelessly to give women who were excluded at the time equal opportunities in work in society in science and of course in political and public life and it's said that she in fact took part in all the suffrage processions of the early 1900's the MS Ethel Sargent she was born in the 1860s and she was a botanist active in the botanical section of the British Academy and is president for a little while she was the first woman council member of the Linnaean Society and she too was vociferous about women's engagements in higher education she actually took on the presidency of the Federation of university women but she also established a tradition of excellence in plant science that flourishes in our College today not least through the efforts of our senior fellow in him Robbie who's not able to be here today but she has been a fellow of the college for 60 years and she was the first woman scientist in Cambridge to be awarded a personal chair she was the first female head of the department of plant sciences and she secured a fellowship at the Royal Society at a time when few women were recognized in that way and just as a last example there's Dorothea rinche born in the 1890s she was a mathematician she was the only female Wrangler if that was the right word for her year and theoretical biologists and her attempt to deduce protein structure using mathematical principles probably as many of you will know here met a few dead ends and a few rather rather tricky challenges in debate but eventually it did help identify the driving force behind protein folding and no one here tonight will need me to tell them how important that has proved to be so they were some of the pioneers perhaps not household names but they were brilliant women whose early success I think fully justifies the establishment of the founders science lecture here tonight and that foundation was just a start by the 1960s the Natural Science Tripos was the largest in this College and we've gone from strength to strength now so far we have no Nobel Prize winners indeed I'm very grateful to Professor Sir Gregory Windsor master of Trinity for joining us tonight not only because it gives me an opportunity to extend our very warmest congratulations to him to you on your Nobel Prize last year for in honor of your work on human therapeutic antibodies and we were also delighted to be able to join you and to congratulate you you on that see super that you're here to represent that Nobel group tonight but also also to remind me that Emily Davis her ambition was always as she put it to achieve no less than that of our neighbors at Trinity say we are we are on that way we are on that route of course we've gone on and we've been proudly co-educational for precisely 40 years that's something else that we're celebrating in this year of 2019 we're celebrating the fact that's still inspired by our founders we're now known for working together as a community to make real difference to the world but at a time when women are still and stubbornly underrepresented in the STEM subjects it's quite right I think in our hundred and fiftieth year to pause to celebrate the legacy and aspirations of the generations of brilliant women scientists that I've walked under our tower and into that wider world and among past and present members of the college in fact we have no less than four UNESCO law real women in science laureates now these were awards set up precisely to recognize the outstanding contribution to scientific progress made by women researchers and I have the pleasure of introducing tonight one of those Award holders as our special lecturer professor Dame Pratibha guy is a physicist and chair of electron microscopy at York University where the founding professor of the Jol the gel nano Center professor guy is a fellow of the Royal Society of the institute of physics of the Royal Society of Chemistry of the Royal microscopical Society and of the Institute of materials minerals and mining she's got no fewer than 300 refereed scientific papers in leading journals together with nine co-authored and edited books and journal issues as well as being a woman in science laureate she received the Institute of Physics 2010 gabor medal and prize for environmental transmission electron microscopy and recently figured among the Asian Awards for outstanding achievement in science and technology consistent with the values established by our founders she's got a truly collaborative spirit indeed having created a microscope capable of perceiving chemical reactions at the atomic scale she didn't patent it but freely allowed others to access the design and she is as he would expect from an OG as we call them a former Gastonia nerd current catonian and outspoken advocate for women with careers in science so it's my great honor to invite professor Dane Pratibha guy newly elected honorary fellow of this foundation to deliver the founder science lecture entitled catch me if you can atoms in action for energy environments and health care professor Dane petty burger thank you all very much before I begin my talk I I would like to thank professor Susan Smith for those kind words and I would like to like to first of all say that in a tanker for inviting me to present this Curtin 150 founders talk it's my great privilege and honor to do that and in fact it's a great honor for me to return to the College where I was a graduate student of physics more than four decades ago and it's also an opportunity for me to celebrate 150th anniversary of curtain call it and thank professor Smith for her outstanding leadership which is continuously enabling garden women to dream more and achieve more I would also like to thank Fellows of the college the secret works and the mistress for rewarding me an Andhra fellowship for which I'm very grateful and also thanks to mrs. Stanley for all her help and also to Professor Archie Harvey who is here tonight and he was my Destiny's adviser at Cambridge and so I would like to start my talk it's called catch me if you can can you all hear me at the back okay so this is the title of my talk basically that means you can items in action for energy environment and healthcare and these are the three key things which are important to each one of us so we are funded by various people shown at the bottom here the main funders are the Science Council EPSRC and we have funding from University of York and also various chemical and healthcare companies and I'm going to talk about something about that later and in fact we have very good collaborations with the UK industry so when I got admission to Curtin I was really over the moon so it was a privilege to be part of the college and after Cambridge I moved to Oxford and then to United States when I was at DuPont in Delaware for nearly two decades and I returned to York as a professor of physics chemistry and electron microscopy and also to go form the Nano side Center to train students in advanced sciences so that's the sort of background about Girton but we scientists don't just sit in our laps and we get to go to all over the world because of conferences so I tell my students stay in science and see the world and so that's what happens so basically as Professor Smith mentioned Girton women have dominated Science and Technology Wars and she mentioned before me they were de MacDonald and Ashcroft and I got it in 2013 but it says that it's a true statement in the in the world that science needs women and so I tell my female students you know to take Scientific careers because they can do useful things to make this world a better place like coming up with new drugs or new medicines new energy sources and new routes to climate control and so on so thankfully in our laboratory the number of female students in science is increasing so that has to be a good sign so this is after all you know this is the International Women's week this week and so and women make up in half the population and move and more women scientist men move and it's to the world so that's my vision so this is me and my machine and that's the one I'm going to talk about so he Adams matter why do the atoms matter if an atom to make up everything don't they they literally make up everything I mean they are the basic building blocks of everything and and basic building blocks of matter and so we need to visualize and analyze them to see how they work so basically my interest is to visualize and analyze atoms in action in chemical reactions so so let's take a look before we take a look and I know that many of you are from different disciplines so I kept my talk very simple so experts in the audience my apologies ok so let's take a look at the dimensions what's a nanometer many of you may be familiar with nanoscience and nanotechnology so it's a nanometer a nanometer is one billionth of a meter so when atom is point 1 of a nanometer so they are invisible to the human eye ok so they're 1/10 of one billionth of a meter so there are basic building blocks of matters so they are fundamental to all reactions including chemical actions so let's look at the sort here that use every day so this is the salt structure and each atom here is point 1 nanometer and these beautiful columns it makes it about 0.2 nanometers so these are the dimensions we are looking at and in fact as grain of salt and contain many many millions of atoms so we are trying to hold it on one atom one at a time working and so when you are working they say they're moving around they say catch me if you can so we are condom with our development and that's the story I'm going to present to you this evening so here is the is the way I've shown it these are the chlorine and the green ones on the sodium so that's how sorts structure is made and so this is kind of gives you the sense of scale from nano to mega scale we start with the atom here point one nanometer multiplying that by a billion times you get a football about two meters and then similarly you get diameter of the Sun which is about 1.4 million kilometers so you can see the sense of skin here and our planet Earth these years really tiny cut by comparison it's about twelve thousand eight hundred kilometers in diameter so that kind of gives you sense of scale and we're right here at the bottom and that is the fundamental building block and so in DNA for example it's the diameter is about one point two point two nanometers and you see lots of atoms inside and silicon which is fundamental to all the semiconductor technology you know it's got atoms about 0.136 nanometers so how to see them we just go to wavelength and resolution criteria and if you look at the right-hand side graph here you have green light which is the visible light which is about 500 nanometers if you go to electrons let's say voltage about two hundred thousand volts the wavelength phones to about point naught naught to five nanometers so it's really very small so it can't read some tiny objects so that's so we use electrons and we host them in a machine called electron microscope very logical and so how to see them how difficult can seeing atoms be it's the same and you know looking at these little golf ball on the surface of the from the planet Earth can you see it so it's as complicated as that so I'm going to explain that with ya with a little cartoon here this is our moon okay so that's our tiny golf ball or centimeters diameter and this is a blue beautiful planet Earth and we're trying to see it from a planet Earth to the Moon what's the distance four hundred thousand kilometres so seeing a single atom like this you know microscope is the same as looking at a four centimeter golf ball on the surface of the Moon or the planet Earth so you can see that's the complication we have so so basically many of you you know have you ever wondered about the energy use the medicines you take the food you eat and environment you live in and all the Mediate chemicals used in everyday life come from they come from chemical reactions okay chemical reactions are basically reactions between different substances and it's basically like making a cake you put all these things and you want a cake at the end that's exactly what we want we want to decide product to select the product at the end and all these things energy healthcare food environment chemicals they all depend on chemical reactions chemical reactions are alive they're constantly changing they're like humans you know so call them dynamic so these chemical reactions are speeded up by materials known as catalysts and we call them catalytic chemical reactions or catalytic reactions that's what that that's the word I'm going to use so these are basically metals on supports this catalysts so a metal can be on a support like that or they can be simple oxides so they basically speed up the chemical reactions and so these chemical reactions to make matters complicated they take place at the atomic level and so I try to unlock mysteries of the changing atomic world in this chemical reaction to understand the reaction mechanisms at the atomic level and this fundamental understanding is critical to develop new medicines new energy sources cleaner environment and also improved products for the benefit of humanity and we use modified electron microscope as a key tool to do that that's what I'm going to say so let me just take my jacket off it's getting a little bit warm so basically catalytic reactions they say they had to convert cheap stuff into valuable stuff and clean up the best of they take place at the atomic level and as I said they in fact heavily not daily life energy medicine food etc so the relationship between the dynamic atomic structure of the catalyst and the property are at the heart of these reactions and so catalysis is extremely important that you can see contribute something like 10 trillion dollars into the global economy and catalysis is very strong in the UK all these chemical companies Johnson Matthey VP shall have operations in the UK so we have in a very good relationship with these companies and we have collaborations with especially with Johnson Matthey so it's striking to note that everything is based on just 91 types of atoms arranged in different combinations so that's really striking so all the world is made up of just nine different types of atoms arranged in different ways so basically we are interested in synthesis dynamic atomic structure and properties and today I'm going to talk about gas molecules and solid catalyst interactions at operating temperatures at the atomic level we have done liquids as well but I don't have time to do that and here basically we are interested in understanding what are the intermediate phases during the reaction because intermediate phases under the action conditions may be critical to the reaction so we want to understand that so basically we need a new tool right tool for the job see what this elephant is doing it's basically drilling the hole at the back of the van to get to the food and so this kind of gave us an idea which I'm going to be was mentioning it you know in a few minutes and so basically we need an electron microscope it can operate under gaseous temperatures and liquids at the atomic level so in other words we need an atomic resolution environment electron microscope we call it a Tomic resolution eaten so so that but there is a problem with the microscope not with the elephant because the problem with the microscope is that conventional machine operates in high vacuum which means no environment which operates at room temperature normally and therefore you know we can't it's basically a static reaction but as I mentioned the chemical reactions take place in gas or liquid and operating temperatures and so we simply need to have anatomical atomic resolution microscope which can and able to do that but atomic resolution environmental microscope was not possible it was not available and also it was thought to be difficult or impossible to attain under high gas pressures and high temperatures so what's the solution build your own so that's exactly what we did we designed and constructed our own atomic resolution environmental microscope sorry to operate in liquid gas and temperature environments I mean there are risks in doing this at home because you know something may go wrong but this is just a series of logical steps well-managed and one has to take some intelligent risk read one side said most of you know it's just like crossing the road it's dangerous but you have to cross it to go from A to B so that's exactly what we did so I know there's some experts of electron microscopy in this audience but I'm just going to mention a little bit about electron microscopy to some of the people who don't know basically in the electron microscope we shine a beam of electrons onto the sample this is our object and we this is transmitted through so we call it transmission electron microscope TEM very logical and we collect and these detect these scattered electrons to form an image of the object it's just like in a light microscope or in your camera and so during this interaction we also get x-rays and that characteristic of the elements in the species for example it can tell us Ortiz at themselves and they are sodium or chlorine or copper or whatever so combination of that is very important to have both structure and composition and we can also basically scan a probe of an electrons onto the sample like that scanning and collect these highly scattered electrons and in this case the intensity is proportional to approximately proportional square Tomic number or proton number so for example if you have platinum on carbon if you square it you can see platinum it's going to look very bright but I'm going to give some examples later later on and so many people you know many researchers have used this conventional microscopy to build atomic structural imaging competition and structural modifications called defect etc a very nice work but unfortunately we need these under reaction conditions so that's the challenge so so basically this is our electron microscope in the standard configuration it has a high vacuum and room temperature but we want to have chemical reactions and the gas environments or in situ conditions under heating etc so that's what we need to do in other words we need to incorporate all the signals imaging diffraction chemical composition gas temperatures mass spectrometry to analyze the reactants and the products everything in one microscope so that was the challenge and in the beginning you know I had worked on in-situ microscopy at Oxford we had I built a reactor which something like that I could put it in the microscope connected various gases and the machine was 1 1 million molds and it was like 20 meter tall and so every time I had to do the experiment I had to put it in put the gases and do the reaction and take it out etc it was really a pain and but I went to the nanometer resolution which was the best at the time and so we could publish it in good papers and it also showed us that you have to have reaction environment to see the reaction if you take it out in vacuum you you didn't get it so all the changes occurred under gas and temperature environments but nanometer resolution mountain woody dump so we needed atomic resolution before anybody else we wanted to be the first so that's what we did we built the first atomic resolution even in default at the time under controlled gas and temperature environments to look at the reactions in real time as they're happening and also analyze them at the same time so and in New York we have been added both the TM and the stem configurations as I mentioned earlier and also as soon as aberration correction sister acting operations of the electron lenses I'll come back to that a bit later and this allowed us to look at single atoms in action and these developments actually paved the way for atomic resolution studies of gas-solid reactions and opened up a new field of research worldwide so if you take some risk it can pay off so American Chemical Society this for that when we were young highlighted our work and it gave us a lot of publicity so you know here we are so I'm going to talk about the electron microscope modification how we did it and so as I mentioned remember the elephant it was drilling a hole at the back of the van that's exactly what we did this is our imaging lens shown in green here so we incorporated holes to put pump high-pressure gas into the electron microscope and and also I was fed up of putting an exit you cell so what you did was just use the reactor itself and they kept the sample chamber itself for the chemical reactor so that basically saved us using an exit yourself because if you put an exiting unless it fits extremely well you will have some slack and in some blending of the image but here by using the chemical sample chamber yourself that a chemical reactor we could make everything very stable and and also you can see these arrangements are apertures we basically differentially pump the gas so that gas does not leak into the electron microscope source which is under vacuum so though we didn't change the whole thing whole microscope column here and basically built a new microscope this is a and end product you can see you can put high heat and gas do the electron microscopy in chemistry at the same time and you can put four gases together and and watch what's happening and videotape it or recorded on a CCD camera so it was all and for the first time when we switched it on we saw atomic structure changing so that was like a Eureka moment for us so everything worked fine and so these are basically the key features holds to the objective in image England spoon pieces and we used the sample chamber itself at the reactor it's a Gasper reactor just like in technological reactor it's a differential pump column as I said so everything is pumped around the chemical reactor but the electron source actually is in the vacuum it's a hot stage we can heat the sample from room temperature to 2,000 degree centigrade and we always do calibration studies and as the mistress mentioned we did not patent it because we wanted to make it available to all researchers so in fact our original atomic resolution income is used for commercial production by Fei who are the major electron microscopy manufacturers and you can see all those models included 2018 models are based on our development and people are using it worldwide and USA Japan Europe in China and you know doing excellent scientific research it's bringing both scientific and economic benefits and also it's provided jobs for researchers and hundreds of papers have resulted from it so atomic resolution each team has also inspired gas no people are trying to put gas in a holder like that but they have some limitations and they convert single item resolution so in fact our work has been publicized by all these scientific societies materials Society ACS etc so it's received a lot of publicity so in addition to building this microscope you've also along with other people invented some processes in catalysis in high-temperature superconductors coatings acceptor and I'm going to give you a couple of examples of coatings and one is for titanium and this is titanium structure here titanium dioxide you can see oxygen are the red ones and the yellow ones are titanium and this is used universally in all these applications as you can see here coatings paper foods strong polymers health care and cosmetics and health care all the pills you know they're white because it's got titania in it it's a non-toxic material but but it is very active under sunlight so if you put it in the sunlight it becomes gray and nobody wants gray paper right so what they do is to coat it with ceramic coatings like alumina and silica and it stopped the sunlight getting to the tio2 well what they were doing before was to use a wet process basically they would dip thousands of gallons of 100 a million ton of the kiai of doing hundreds of thousands of gallons of sodium silicate and sodium aluminate it's a wet process and dry it out and obviously it's environmentally unsustainable and very expensive so we said you know can we come up with a dry process in our and one metal microscope to put a nano coating without the wet process and after one day just one day of trying we came up with this beautiful coating at one temperature and this shows part of that you can see coating of alumina and silica we can get chemical analysis to confirm that and tio2 is in the middle this is the titanium peak here so it is now commercialize is called r350 pigment it's used worldwide okay because it's everybody's house cars etc depends on this painting so on this 30 I or 2/3 used worldwide and it's brought a lot of economic benefits around the world and we this was a patent and is commercialize now and so you know so you can use the environmental machine to to invent new things so it's been also publicizing the material see Society billeting intersections and so he said these are some of the advantages of inventing these processes using going onto microscope another thing they have done is to come up with solid coatings for vitamins etc you might have seen fish oil it's at the liquid is underneath the solid coating and we came up with that technology and you can see we use basically titanium silica solid coatings to put probiotics and tacit antibiotic Spain delivers in liquid form inside these pills and these are our patents and healthcare technologies are actually using it so environmentally Michaels not only can give us fundamental understanding it can also lead to society beneficial processes so I did return to York and I co-founded the non eccentric York and basically it's been very successful hundreds of students have been trained in advanced AI nano Sciences in the Nano Center and at the same time because all the students in the northeast of Britain they were doing theory but as soon as we set up in this experimental lab they all came to do the experiment so it shows you students are really interested in experimental science so at the same time you also given up what's known as the double abrasion corrected Eastham I'm going to explain that in a minute it allows us to look at atoms in action here we basically utilized land separation Corrections that have been reported in the literature in the past decade I mean electron lenses of operations just like humans so they came up with the idea of correcting these lenses lens aberrations and we incorporated that and so this is shown here without aberration correction electrons don't focus you have some operations here but as soon as you put aberration correction it can focus very well and you can see the resolution is improved so it's basically like Hubble mark to Danna scope so in our York machine we have incorporate both the transmission and the scanning and it's got aberration correction and this gives us less than 100 Pico meter resolution and underpass and temperature environment basically under operating conditions it allows us to visualize atoms in action so because this these are unique instrument they're on covers of several journals couple of them are showing here this is our e time as I showed earlier and this is of the job or York machine and so this is what York machine looks like we call it you know T stem and stem and again you see this these are the characters have abrasion characters and we change the whole thing inside and we also change the pumping system so it's really about 15 feet tall three times taller than I am and so gives us very nice resolution these are silicon atom separated by about 0.136 nanometers and you can see when we put the covers on it looks really smart and because it's only one of its kind in the world we have delegations visiting us from America to Australia and in between and so we have thailand delegation here and nice thing about that was half of them were women scientists and they're all happy and smiling so let me just give you some examples this is gold and when you take gold to the nano scale here it is predicted that was wrong but it's anything but when you look at them in experiments so it's not round and also it's got tiny defects I'm going to come back to that in a minute that's why I like experiment and I'm an experimental scientist for me seeing is believing so this is what experiment shows until you was supposed to show it wrong so many people haven't an idea of catalytic chemical reaction so I'm going to explain that in a cartoon so this is let's look at metals on supports in this case okay so so let's look at the crystalline support it can be amorphous support as well but let's look at the crystalline support and our environment a microscope gives us tremendous insights into surface engineering in fact we can look at what is the reactive species and also when metal is on a support like that how does it where does it go for example and if there's a gas molecule sitting on it how does it interact and so after a while you know these catalysts are like people after a while they say I don't want to work I'm tired but they can't afford to because if you stop a reactor even for a day and cost millions of pounds in money so we have to understand very quickly what's the problem that is due to leaching when a component comes out or they do too simply with small particles and actually joining to become a big particle starts course in drinks for example imagine all these single atoms become a clump you will lose the surface area and the catalyst deactivates so we need to understand all that so in the next video in the real-time video you'll see how the small particles like this become large particle this is a real-time video this is a platinum on carbon and you can see very beautifully have this little large and center and we need to understand that to optimize the process this kind of tells us which actually planes are also involved in the reaction is this plane that plane and that's very important for us to understand and optimize the process so for the first time we have been able to look at these things at the atomic level and so as I mentioned in our instrument we have both transmission and the scanning and as I mentioned here in the east M we basically have square of the intensities if you have platinum on carbon platinum looks really bright on a carbon support and you can see here it looks like beautiful stars in the sky this is our students work he's colorized it you can see very clearly that the single atoms are and these are graphs and particles around it so this is in a platinum carbon and platinum company is very important in fuel cells fuel cells basically converts potential energy of the fuel into electrical energy through an electrochemical reaction and we need to understand what happens at the atomic level before we build this instrument nobody knew these atoms existed because they couldn't see them and so you can see we can analyze that one atom here two atoms there exertion we can actually count them and figure cells are important in power generation and also in your portable devices like laptops and computers and so on so we need to understand and and optimize their function so these are for the first time leaving us insights into how fuels and works and here for example you can see in the next video how one atom becomes two atoms becomes three atoms and it's so dynamic at the whole exciting atomic world opens in front of us you can see here look at this particle and the atoms are coming out and so we can stop it and look at the video from the still it's the same video this is the particle here three items here four atoms yas'm but the birth of the particle is actually not doing anything everything is happening on the surface so and again they're disintegrating forming the cluster it's a completely dynamic process so for the first time we've been able to image these and it's giving us insight into what's exactly happening it's telling us that these bulk is not interacting very much so they're basically these particles are acting as a that's a while for these atoms and clusters on the surface and when they give up these atoms you can see the particle starts to become more and more faceted so I come back that in a minute you can see that much more clearly here room temperature no gas with hydrogen gas that now starts to interact as I showed earlier and the 500 we get more ordered nanoparticles they're bitter much much more faceted and in fact they're given up but many of these surface atoms so we can study all that at the single item level and we can quantify this understand how many items that are in each column I won't go into that so basically these atoms and clusters seem to be doing all the reaction and the bulk is not doing anything so it's leading to economical catalysts which just atoms and atom clusters with less metals so you can imagine the consequences of that and the implications of that so that's what we are doing the Johnson math here tomorrow so I'm going to give some examples of health care energy and cleaner environment so let's look at the health care so in health care I'm gonna give an example of a model system you're working with UK healthcare technologies but some of these are proprietary so I'm going to use a model system and acetyl PM you know feed on which is paracetamol and basically we rearranged molecule this molecule here and current process actually uses sulfuric acid and did you know that dependence really value the sulfuric acid but there's a lot of waste here so we are trying to develop using our environmental machine a green or clean process at low temperatures heterogeneous process so this is basically the rearrangement of the author you can see atoms the D are the same number of atoms them in a different way I'm on top of this catalyst and this is the catalyst we have developed this is zirconia tungsten tungsten on zirconia and we use different loadings and we basically make it with a monomer cutting state and second oxide hydroxide and we basically look at it in our ATM and real-time conditions so you see after about half an hour this amorphous clunk becomes in the crystalline and at 700 degrees C it becomes much more crystalline you get zirconia grains and these atoms of tungsten and atom clusters as well and said corneum as many of you know used for jewelry but zirconia and it's oxidized it's very stable ceramic supports and that's what we're using here and if you look at it very carefully we have anchored all these atoms and clusters along the grain boundaries of zirconia so I can show you in a colorized image so all these tungsten atoms and buster's are basically anchored very nicely and so they don't move around and it's inter so under these conditions we get very good product you can see almost 90 percent product and so in small clusters and items seem to play a key role in the function this catalysts and we're using the same technology to to do synthesized protein the antibiotic nanoparticle for implants and surgery so that's where it's heading and the second thing I'm going to talk about is biofuels and many of you may be familiar with biofuels design environmentally sustainable energy solutions and the renewable energy sources and we call them from field to field okay and so many countries have set targets to replace some of the fossil fuels with biofuels and to combat climate change and energy shortages and where everybody's talking about climate change and there have been several meeting of the House of Commons and the UK target is about 10% next year this is these are the transportation fuels so we are so we need more scientists to do that actually so we are doing our bit here so we are basically using plant biomass and converting to diesel and we are interested palm rapeseed plants and grass and weeds and so around springtime you see a lot of the rapeseed plants and that's the one we are using and BP uses it quite a bit for their for their biofuel and so what we do is you know just like people plants have tried listen eyes these are the facts so basically what we want to convert the fact into esters they're pure so call them try try to set high transesterification and current process is homogeneous which is very expensive so we are trying to develop economical green processes and we'll come up with this simple catalyst magnesium hydroxide methoxide and so before I go to rapeseed I just want and and after that we want to go to grass so before I go to rapeseed I just want to show you grass you know we cut the grass and throw it away but when we looked at in the SEM scanning electron microscope see how beautiful it is and these are the things which contain the fat and we want to transfer that into energy and so this is a little bit more complicated than rapeseed so I'll show the rapeseed it looks very nice as you can see beautiful situations and what we do is to convert that in the presence of alcohol into fuel and we get a little bit of glycerol but glycerol is used as sweetener in cakes and things that you buy in your supermarket so it's not wasted so so when we actually do the reaction in our environmental machine we see these atomic scale defects structural modifications and we didn't know if they existed and without the machining we couldn't see them so when we actually correlate them with the performance you can see in the presence of these defects the performance is maximum so by operating in this regime you have been able to give it up efficient non a catalyst for biodiesel synthesis so we are now expanding that work to grass so let me just talk about hydrogen energy and this is the Nano gold did you know that when you take go to the nanometer level it becomes very active you know gold under bulk form is very inactive right so we have jewelry etc because it doesn't react with anything but if you take it to the nanometer level it's highly reactive reacts with water a company knocks on everything and it changes from beautiful gold into dull gray and who wants dividend and gray so this is the beautiful layers of about point two t nanometers here and we are trying to use it to produce hydrogen for hydrogen cars and for fuel cells and so on and so so this is the reaction we are looking at converting carbon monoxide with water into hydrogen this is a clean hydrogen and so we want it for fuel cells that's it for power generation and also transportation fuel hydrogen cars and so what we do is to put gold on the senior support Syria is very strong support and so we want to interact with at 225 degrees C the lower the temperature the the more economic of the processes because you can simulate energy so we want to then do real-time visualization and look at the atomic level in this reaction and for the first time you can actually see how these gold atoms interact so we are working with Johnson Matthey on this development so we like to build things so this is what we will to make humidifier so a water is humidified and the water vapor is then put in our microscope along with carbon monoxide and we then interact and see what happens so when we actually make the powder they look you know they're millions of grains I don't know I didn't bring the sample yet so anyway they have opinions of grains and we have to make sure that we made the right thing so we do the analysis and there is gold here and also there is Syria here so we have made gold cilia so then we want to know where does see a gold go if it's if it's the Syria where does gold go it turns out that I mean this is my students work and he has looked at various models and he finds and this is the experiments and this is a theory if you look at these graphs experiments and theory they kind of match and so basically a gold is actually knocking out the city of atoms and going in their columns so we find that about four gold atoms going to the cesium atom columns so we then put water and cover monoxide together and you can see as soon as you put water gold comes to the surface it is very reactive with water and you can see that good clusters and items come to the surface and you can also see Gold atom dynamics you know lots of these single atoms and clusters are present under these conditions this is initial after 20 seconds 1 minute hour and a half minutes you can see more and more atoms in to participate in the reaction we can confirm that with analysis here and then when we actually correlate with the performance of hydrogen it's very strong almost 98% 95% at 275° and around 90% at lower temperatures so the performance also shows that gold clusters and atoms are incredibly reactive for hydrogen production so cleaner environment is critical to all of us so I'm going to talk about exhaust emission control in this case diesel engines and petroleum engines exhaust contains carbon monoxide all these horrible things nitrous oxides and also in diesel engine it also contains oxygen so predictions are that although many people are talking about electric cars but the predictions are that these diesel and petrol America's vehicles are going to be around for a couple of decades so more so we need to do something about the emission control from cars from trucks and from you know trains which all use diesel a and diesel fuel so we have come up with diesel oxidation catalysts again working with Johnson math in this case and so this is our car the exhaust has all these horrible things so we want to convert for example carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide on our catalyst and so this is actually what the catalyst looked like and you can see this is a real catalyst about 10 to 20 centimeters across and the exhaust comes in over the catalytic converter and then we get some of these oxidized products and we want to convert carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides into nitrogen but you know so so we looked at the fresh and age samples this is the bimetallic systems like open indium and alumina and you can see and after thirty thousand mile of driving the catalyst converter becomes very black and so my student actually did some work on this so immediately you can see it has like both palladium and platinum have sintered a lot but it doesn't give you on the atomic details so we need to go to the tongue details and it sure is taking the fresh catalyst the particle sizes about 2.5 nanometers and as you go to third after thirty thousand miles they have grown to eleven nanometers in other words they have Center and they've lost the surface area and you can see in the next line very nice segregation of a species on this other metal so when you look at the colored picture here you can see something as segregated on top so he's used high-precision chemical analysis to show that segregated surface is actually palladium and the core is actually platinum so we see that play palladium is very interactive with carbon monoxide so these in in science have given us opportunity to develop optimum dogs for emission control so that's what we are working on at the moment so again you know I talked about metals on metal oxides metals on metal oxide supports and so on but we can use oxide themselves as catalysts and when the name is like today's you know right rainy day I went to the microscope and got this beautiful image of a silica night and these are used as solvents and detergents except I just wanted to show you how beautiful these structures are and and in in technology what they do is to use oxides to convert hydrocarbon to make various polyurethane intermediates etc synthetic fibers and so on so this is one of the catalysts vanadium phosphate and they also use some of these catalysts to produce chlorine free refrigerant so there puts like thousands of tons of this catalyst in the reactor so we need to worry about the reactor as well you know these reactors are like 100 to 200 feet tall they can cost between 100 million to 200 million pounds and so they have to just like the catalyst they have to work continuously so one day they notice that wasn't working very well and these are the grain boundaries the reactor site in Canal which I made up of nickel iron and chromium and they saw this grain boundary failure so you know obviously they couldn't destroy this the actor that said Canyon City machine do something for us so we said okay were trying so it took a little piece from the top here and looked at it in the Machine and yeah you can see this is a real-time video this is the green boundary and we put the same environment in our machine and begin to see how these grain boundaries and precipitate and crack exactly what they observed but this was actually happening at 690 degree C and the react was supposed to be at 525 so immediately we saw that they were hotspots in the reactor who told them and it was they were able to save the reactor so technological benefits of also resulted from the economic resolution ETM used to identify cause of green boundary failure and cure so in summary we have designed and constructed combination EDM for atoms in action in technical reactions and it's leading to new research and help you examples of sustainable processes and energy healthcare environment in fact as Nobel laureate rose and yellow said new instrumentation least new science and I hope I've given you some examples of that and in fact our both our machine and composition eat them and the chemical process inventions I use for commercial production as I mentioned and they are being used by researchers worldwide and basically we believe in science for society and these are various co-authors without whose help this would not have happened so all these are my students and postdocs and their poster sessions where they basically exchange ideas and each time here and so I thank you for your attention well the time is leaving us behind so we probably should draw together the the formal part of the evening and just before I make a final vote of thanks to Pratibha guy just a little bit on the arrangement so one of the fantastic things about this lecture series is that it has enabled us to finish our new social hub and and bar it's a cafe as well but tonight it will be a bar so people who like to join us for the reception afterwards the social hub is kind of in that direction and I suggest that you take one of two routes either out of this door and immediately into the hub or out of that door and just a little way around there's another entrance of the hub so that is the quickest way to get everyone into a position where they can enjoy a nice cool drink because it is a rather hot room so so so we'll do that afterwards you will walk by whichever route you take some lovely banners that our archivist and a college historian have done around the history of the college so please do feel free to pause there or indeed to get a drink and come back if you are dining with us tonight there'll be some separate instructions later but they are all flow from being in the social hub where we can have some more informal discussion so if I could just say I think our founders their vision was to enable anyone whatever their background whoever they were to if they got ability and enthusiasm and ideas and the energy to pursue them to enable them to be their best selves and to do their finest work and I think if I'm a professor guy you you embody that vision and I would like on behalf of all of us here to thank you so much for coming today to share your ideas with us thank you you

yes stop stop okay what'd you find explain hi guys I'm late and I'm going to me I don't know what tonight anyway I can finally explain hi guys I'm late and I'm going to be a parent dah dah dah it's my last night in London I'm going back to Cambridge to me but yeah I'm gonna try this blocking thing the guys I just literally finished sewing this half-hour and adjusting hair curling it because it just didn't look right it looked too much I'll fix it guys please don't judge me I need to hold that thing straight anyway this is strange I finished packing those things but yeah I'm gonna get on the bus now but this is how slow welcome to our load this is my yes stop like I could yeah interesting day I wanna plug in oh my gosh it's my birthday back at Cambridge Sunday the 14th and of just literally moved my stuff back in my dad dropped me off and I bought everything then we went to Tesco to do a free shop whoops and then we went to Nando's and I'm really tired like I'm ridiculously tired I thought that the holiday would fix fix fix my sleeping pattern but it hasn't and I'm knackered so I'm gonna clean all of this up and then literally maybe cook and take a nap that's me I literally took my wig off for two seconds because my head was itchy but I couldn't be asked but yeah wish me luck so tired I am so tired but I'm nearly back okay it really is like I never left oops my cards on the floor but it's literally like this literally like I never left I literally have my like makeup and toiletries – over here and then my books and stuff over there and I did my work there keep my shoes bare keep my books up here there's were some cards I was given I've decided to like keep my plates in here this term that clothes guys literally I'm safe box I bought my folders for you guys because I know this English video needs to be done so I care about you guys that much that I bought my folders that's everything else that my bags on the floor my iPad my makeup bags some food and yeah like that's everything literally I bought my folders and my ring light in everything so I'm excited to film here because obviously it's Homerton get it home inton okay no that's not funny okay hey guys if anyone knows me they know how obsessed I am with green tea I can have green tea like all the time that's all I drink I'm so tired I just want to watch black mira drink my green tea and then go to sleep like good morning guys it's Monday yeah it's Monday and I have no lectures or anything to do meeting my auntie in town and I just basically I decided to get eyelash extensions after the whole fiasco on my other video with my eyelashes every time I get ready it ends up being a mess but anyway I decided to get like extensions just to see how it goes and they're okay but I don't know they're not my fav but I really probably try to learn how to do them I know I'm looking at the monitor and I should be looking at the lens yeah I meant to be cycling and it just rained really heavy so I'm kind of scared but yeah I don't wanna wait movie walking around this lift has been broken forever it's so annoying I look so dramatic it's okay I think I should pay homage to listen to you anyway I should do there's a lovely monument that's the main building then this is like the other main building where the Great Hall is and all of that good stuff I'll probably do a whole Mattoon tour like later on because the grounds are really big as you can see it goes it's extends all the way to out there hi guys so I just got back from town in the rain so I wanted to have um some Nando's with my auntie she lives in like Huntingdon which is like an hour away from Cambridge so I went to have some Nando's of her I dyed this a bit longer and it got blunder so when I put the diner got lighter and as I got to the top of my hair I ran out of them died the the same dye packets I used for this so I had to use a door caution spice and I think it's made it a bit more orange but anyway yeah I just move my arm this is interesting I didn't take my camera with me to look in town because it was only quick and the rain is ridiculous so I'm not sure if it like it looks like I'm looking into the lens or at the camera took out the spot here you can see but yeah the rain was ridiculous and I don't have a proper camera crease yet and I wasn't gonna risk that so that would have been really bad really bad but yeah the rain was really bad I was meant to go and buy my arm I was going to go and buy some charging thing but yeah I had to duck from town because it was just too much it was too much I wanted to film a video actually about how to stay motivated because someone asked me how do I stay motivated but after this rain I'm not motivated to film the video about staying motivated I might do that tomorrow and I'd have to fix this mess I thought I might do that tomorrow but anyway I have a toast meeting at 3:30 so I'm going to meet my boss and we're gonna talk about lost Harry quite scared about what and then I think I'm just gonna like read and enjoy today it's like another slow day of course we don't start lectures until Thursday because the Week starts on Thursday so that's why and in turn a lot but you will try to do so enjoyed that this is a funfair turn out orange and there are asked if it's like a brownie red copper colors I'm still annoyed about that but act like it was mentioned we like that I just yeah in the mixture in the kitchen make my tea obviously this is what my room looks like after I get ready just watching a month I've managed to do a bit and yeah going to with Manuka cuz I just drink green tea and it's really good fast it was really disgusting green tea is really disgusting the tweet that always makes you laugh I'll see if I can insert it about my feelings towards green tea but yeah this stuff isn't really nice annoying me I might go to my trust me in my professionally because I'll go to the kitchen then I'll bring the camera before I drop the camera yes stop we're in the elevator I'm looking crusty as usual actually really classy but then convinced to go to Nando's with the home it's a lot I always wear this I need a new beanie because this isn't working but I've been convinced to go to Nando's with everyone I need to Polly I feel like now that I don't have eyelashes on it's just so different and yeah I really need to fix this I situation because it's looking a bit bare okay we just got back from Nando's so I went to Nando's with my floor and that was really nice I would like to introduce no but anyway we're just walking back Tama to now and it's freezing and then there's this really nice and everyone here is really nice but I'm not gonna record them yet because I need parental consent I'm not joking because I'm looking arrested seven out of ten pretty good I couldn't finish or what dude because everyone's eats okay now see you when I get back like when there's actually gonna be a higher we're all gonna be like oh yeah like hmm is it that kitchen with the missing me a little me this time like luck wait you didn't lost enough time no I said it off really and I'll keep like like reason for 3/4 and I was like huh you're like your shower yeah cuz I left the shower like running to get warm what the doors open a fire thing thing good morning guys hi good morning lectures start today so it's like the first day of time times start on a Thursday this is looking at all kinds of jagged can we put something on my head so here I go again with this damn hat but I'm cycling and ain't nobody got time for that had to be doing a nonsense but yeah I just I look so extra today watch me going track is for the rest of town I just thought today I'd be a bit extra yes stop hi guys I'm back at college Mitchell II just parked my bike over here this face is literally like bike wars lectures were good mine like my arm supervised there was the lecture today so that was nice I have to make sure I'm paying attention anyway right now I'm just going to my pigeonhole yeah to see if I have any like toast or anything back at Coolidge Homerton is so pretty so this is West House but the precious stage I think I've explained that never explained our little locking piece and I just got some post just go ahead back in posilutely and then read I really need to read so it's not looking like a very interesting day I'm sorry but this is the life this is how you slay I suppose ya see in a bit film and my life decided to die so that was fun video hoping today I think God is trying to tell me to just read my books I should really look at the lens morphed in any way she's we need to come and talk about I'm allowing you to see my Krusty's times you know that's what anyway let me get comfortable anyway you can't like I was just watching a video by Cecilia Rosa right now about YouTube and some other like og youtubers have recently been making videos about YouTube and their thoughts about YouTube and everything that's going over there and I share the same sensor in it I don't know it's just an interesting platform but I'll keep at it because again like I said the thing that keeps me going is knowing that I'm helping someone and knowing that someone finds these things useful because that's really important it's really important to to be able to see someone and relate to them and I think YouTube provides so much of that which is like it is a great platform and yeah this is how my you two started out so this was 2014 I feel focus I was doing that and I've always been filming hair routines get ready with me makeup like I was a makeup guru and when I was meant to be doing my GCSEs look at the year 2015 2015 2015 and there are so many parts of my journey especially with her makeup and shoes that's where it all started because that's who I was influenced by so all obviously all these videos aren't public and if I was to publicize them yeah that would be really embarrassing because you should see some of these makeup tutorials and I might show you guys one day that is hilarious

nokey seize the day chinny chin rub liver net kitty lay during it I did it to date oh the perfect hey guys it is one day as of today Tuesday it's Tuesday today I've been up for a while and I'm just like drinking my smoothie now I'm still in black jumpers it's just gonna be another day in my life trying to get productive doing revision getting stuff done and yeah I hope you enjoy it and I just wanted to save movies it might not sound like a breakfast I get that but my smoothies are thick you know the thick not watery and it's got a lot of stuff jam-packed in it you know it's a fuel my date oh hey Disick got two in it burn it Oh cat hair gets everywhere just thought I'd mention that but if you guys don't want smoothies in the morning like you don't have to have some of these just cuz I have two movies I like all of my smoothies I think you know that by now Bob this is just my way to start the day so let's go let's see what Bali and Java are doing buddy oh you're sitting down good girls assuming they're cute faces no look at you what you doing what's going on it's a confused okay we're zoom back out now they just like syrup engine and trying to catch it but clearly they're not gonna get the pigeon oh so I'm just doing we'll talk to you today well I'm like trying to learn some of the stuff on autopsy so I started off like going through what I thought I knew I've been doing some full lash cards here and then I've also been like doing some reading on these stuff I haven't really read about the lecture notes were a bit like kitten mess so I was like Anita worried about this stuff because it just didn't make sense what does make sense do it just wasn't very coherent if it's all kind of bitty and it's not really put together and I'm very nice order so I just have to do some reading and actually make it fit logically in my head that make sense so that's why I'm currently doing I'm actually just gonna take a break and do some emails I think yeah I'm like oh this shouldn't take very long but you know things just always take longer than you expect and water where's my water I don't know I'm out for us today that she don't even know when is she not asleep where are the bananas i want a banana so did a lot more than emails so there's not some dates in my diary for next time and some graduation stuff take some stuff off my to-do list i have these at the moment which are set in Kauai certain other night it but local phone number and they're like hey fever thing and used to use like the rats are done and get it from the doctor but I just wanted to find control all right you know naturally I found cassette in and it's got vitamin C which currently like Idaho does it happy absorb that sometimes fashion um I actually it touchwood there was a knife with wood on it doesn't actually seem that bad this year I think it's cause I've started it kind of early normally I wait for the symptoms or like the symptoms stop and then I start taking it which isn't the best way to do it guys through foam milk uh she's here hi let me come to see me you know you want to I'm gonna make me all Harry I'm gonna need a banana tuck-in Oh hold tight Millie it's you it just fits me walk down oh my god she does this all the time she uses like my books as some obstacle course and then she gets on my windowsill you're gonna stare out the window she stares at Bali and Java and gives them like a resting bitchface show it to me Minnie Oh where's your resting bitchface are you gonna come she wants to and he come and said only be careful daddy no not that she's like yes yes okay so I really don't understand why she does that she like rests her head on my arm oh you're not gonna do it now cuz his son coffee isn't it she'll rest her chin on my arm and then when I'm typing it's like moving an eye chin flat but she still seems to lie there such a strange cat Banjara look at that picture fish it's okay now I'm messed up now Milkha we're gonna have lunch longer I need food save that close that uh right okay uh how long is this little thing that I was gonna read so long hmm I'm like I'll skim through the paper and I didn't end up skimming through it ever end up reading the whole thing and it's just like why did I do bet I mentioned this in my last video my Q&A I normally read reviews most of the time just because they give you like a general overview but they're just so long sometimes I'm this so detailed so ya don't wanna read that maybe I might doing something else after lunch I might be going to doing to you as my favorite thing they're actually not that bad once you get into them I just need to actually learn it so we might do some actual learning instead of note-taking this afternoon yeah we'll do that hey she's falling asleep slowly Denman mystical have some lunch now what's the need to like do you have myself when mom sees me like this she's literally oh my gosh my abs abs hurts so much because the other day my brother gave me just a block oh because he's like doing like a personal training apprenticeship thing so he's gonna be called personal trainer maybe and yeah we did I work on oh my gosh my abs hurt so much and we did it the other day like two days ago actually doing normally do a properly or I just never do it enough so I never really feel there and oh wow there's so painful okay so I've come downstairs my Matthew outside no one else in the house so I've just come downstairs it's pretty quiet down here so I'm gonna work here just to change up the scenery and I'm changing up why I'm doing as I said so I'm gonna try and learn my notes and everything to do with like she was genome-wide Association study I seem to have the information in a place where I can find it so like my notes and everything I just need to learn it so I'm gonna do a learning session don't know what to call it I'm just gonna try it and get it in my brain I'm not making notes I'm just gonna be like learning it and putting things into flashcards so the first thing that I do if I'm trying to learn some information is I tend to just take 15 minutes or something I've got a timer on and see why I remember what do I know without pamphlet looking anything sometimes it's quite successful I don't know how successful we're gonna meet today with the GU hours cuz I don't know how much I'm gonna actually know oh my head hurts I think it's cuz I did a lot of writing yesterday ah why anyway okay 15 minutes is now over we have some ideas of what's going on we're now I'm just gonna actually go through my notes when I'm adding information I don't try and be too ambitious I say that but it's easier said than done sometimes I like pick up a whole folder like you're learning all that it's just like no that's just not gonna happen when I go through it this is when I surf for things in my nose like scribble things alongside and then I transfer things to flashcards I don't really know there's no sort of like set rules with flashcards I just kind of put the things in there quite important and I know that's like how do you know what's important or another way to do it is to like put the things in that you just never normally remember they're my two kind of rules I do like things I do so I put in things that hey I'm not gonna remember or be I think a quite important or quite key because there are things that you want to put in like essays or answers to questions I don't know what's worse this I don't know how well you're gonna hear me because there's a road like that but I'm walking to the gym like I didn't manage to learn well did you ask stuff but I feel like when I try and learn something in detail I can't do it very quickly yeah when I want to learn something in detail and learn it thoroughly you'll take a fair bit of time and you've got to be patient with it it takes a lot of repetition and the more you do it the more familiar you're gonna become with the notes and ya don't currently warm to the gym and when I'm walking I tend to go through things in my head and like speak to myself this really helps of you talk about things where you go through it in your head and yeah I'm just thinking I'm talking to myself as what's going on right now she'll back from the gym just walked back ate my a-hole I hope feeling Bobby and Java are outside someone oh my gosh they didn't okay that was a bad idea bad idea they just jumped and nearly knocked me over hey hey stop it huh good job good girl she just licks all the time I don't understand why she does this don't you just lick it I tell you excuse me that's my jacket get down they still jump up quite but not gonna lie buddy ladies huh look at that tails they get to run around the whole garden now which they really enjoy memory was also so bad that's why I'm going on a walk with them you just can't let them off because they just won't come back and because there's two of them they just both run off that kind of a nightmare what are you doing they're just like sniffing e-everything yes hey girl Java still eats her food she literally poos turns around and eat sir and it's just like girl are you that hungry I don't even know and she's Bali's as well so yeah and then she looked she and it's just like okay that's lovely hey jobs oh yeah you like up there do you like it sit sit sit sit Trevor say you don't sit where's your sister Bali's the best up whole Freddy Freddy sit ready ready Freddy sit good girl poor oh good girl you don't eat your poo do you know you do though hey Java what do you do you eat your poop mom has an obsession with pulling trees down that's what she's doing right now like Mama's in the garden for hours pulling down the trees does anybody else's mom love to pull down trees my head hurt in that type on when I'm like trying to learn something I make up the most ridiculous things like I make up the acronyms or whatever and just do release anything I'm gonna give you an example it's like a tiny detail and in the grand scheme of things it's pretty irrelevant but I want to remember you to remember us basically a little random letters and numbers which actually makes sense but won't probably to you guys so I determine but HLA DRB one asterisk 0 3 so I'm just basically gonna make up something ridiculous they're just a little bit in my head now it's gonna be like Dr I'm just gonna have to remember deal and then be like bananas the one in one smoothie I have three bananas so it's patient's a dr b four bananas in one smoothie asterisk there are three I have three banana than one smoothie and I'm gonna hopefully remember that I make up silly things like this that's fun but this time of the day my photos are literally just everywhere Oh some sucks on the floor and just like chuck everything everywhere and about the gym I didn't fill my workout because I was thinking that I might start putting them on Instagram I think that might just be easier for like you guys instead of having to watch their video if you'd like her thumbs up whatever um yeah I just go back and I finished the g1z stuff and I think isn't my hair tonight I'll have to obviously repeat it but I'm not thinking you know guys like G wise if question comes up in the exam and it's nice like my answer it you think energy was oh the library dance this is like what are you doing when you just got that crazy whoa interesting emails I think I'm like getting go downstairs and help mom make food you
