hello it's Ruby and today I'm going to finally be sharing with you a university morning routine this video has been so highly requested and I'm sorry I'm only just getting around to filming it so I have actually not been sleeping very well recently so I'm waking up a little later than usual instead of 6 which is the ideal time I'd like to wake up I usually end up waking up at 7:00 7:30 since I have an 8:30 this morning I am waking up at 7 and the first thing I will go and do is put on my bed jacket I just love how old-fashioned it is and my slippers are from Bowden I've had these for about four or five years now then I will put on some classical music on Spotify and I will make my bed I really love to make my bed first thing in the morning because it just starts my day off in a really good foot then I would do 40 sit-ups this is just a good way for me to get my body moving in the morning I personally find it's a really good way to start my day and then I will pick up my hot water for tools and go and fill them up because I get very very cold and it is freezing in England at the moment so this is an essential part of my morning and at the same time whilst I'm waiting for the kettle to boil I will wash my hands and then get started but doing some washing up I usually leave some of my washing up from the night before from dinner then I will just fill up a mason jar with cold water and I will drink a whole glass of this and I will also fill up another glass to bring to my bedroom and Here I am filling up my gorgeous head with hot water I honestly love this hot water bottle so much when I'm back in my room I will choose what I'm going to wear today and since it was really cold I decided I was actually gonna wear a thermal vest underneath my jumper today it was it was thermals weather then I will head to the bathroom to brush my teeth because of course you always have to brush your teeth in the morning and I also read at the same time as doing this but I didn't film any clips of that so the next thing I like to do is use this drops of youth body shop facial exfoliator I've been using this for two three years it's one of only two products that I've faced products that I use and I would really recommend it and I will also have a cold shower because I think it's a really great way to wake you up and get you ready for the day hey Google can you get me my flash news briefing so then I will go put on my Google home to get me the news whilst I open the windows to finally let some daylight in by the way if you're wondering today I am wearing this jumper from Bowden and these trousers from Miss patina with a thermal vest underneath then I will go do my hair and get ready and I'm really sorry for this angle I thought you could see more of my face when you actually can I will just put some bobby pins into my head to keep my fringe tone growing out off my face and I also like to put on some face cream this is the second face product I use I will usually put on some concealer as well then I will head to the kitchen to get some breakfast and the first thing I like to do is just rinse out my water bottles or filling it up for my lectures and seminars this is such an important thing to bring to classes I think staying hydrated when you're learning is so important and I find I concentrate so much better when I have got a water bottle with me so this morning for breakfast I decided to have a yogurt Bowl so I am using this out Pro coconut yogurt with some frozen mango some fruits and berries and some bananas and peanut butter I just love yogurt bowls they are so delicious and really refreshing as well so then I would just go put my shoes on put my key on and put my coat on because as I've said it is very cold and actually a wonder I'm not wearing my ski jacket today because I usually won't waste ski jacket then I will just consult this list that I have which details all of the things that I should bring Who campus with me depending whatever the week it is so since it's Friday I did packed my laptop and attach that we had to read that week and then I just packed my bag and head to campus so after my 8:30 seminar that finishes at 10:30 this particular day I did go to the gym before heading back home and this is just because I had a social this evening so I was going to miss trampolining and I still wanted to get some exercise so I went to the gym to the 11:30 and then I had it back to my room and did some studying so thank you so much for watching today's video I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that you have a productive you

hey guys and welcome to today's study with me so this is a full day of me powering through work at University and you're just watching me set up my desk first thing in the morning to get ready to crack on with some wack so I was going to start with making some notes from a lecture that we'd had the previous day so I was just getting up pens I was gonna use so all my four different colors my ruler I got up the PowerPoint slides on my macbook and obviously I was making notes on plain paper because that is just how we were all and yeah we just cracked on essentially so I have made a whole video dedicated to how I make notes I've made a couple actually but I was just going through the notes I made in the lecture and then filling in any gaps that I'd lacked the pens that I'm using are zebra the black one is a zebra pen and the colored ones are paper me and they are actually really good i don't use bic pans anymore since i have started to make notes on plain paper i've just loved sticking to my color coding scheme so I write predominantly in black and then I use green red and blue to just highlight key information or the most important information or separate out something else and so yeah I essentially got all those notes done pretty quickly because I'd done the majority of it in the lecture and then I decided it was about time to open the curtains because the Sun had definitely arisen by then okay so before I got onto something else I decided that I would do a quick five-minute meditation and I used the app called simple habit to help me the app is really easy to use it's available on iOS Android and online on the web and I picked a meditation called enhance your workflow so you guys know that I'm always going on about productivity but I've never really put meditation into practice but with simple habit I was just forced to sit down take a break and clear my mind as a really busy person I am really gonna start using this app to see if it makes a difference and even with the first meditation I did I really felt more productive afterwards so it's a paid full subscription but using the link below you can get a free 7-day trial and I really highly recommend you just try it because getting the Apple for she to just take these small five-minute breaks and I really think it's something we should be doing more of so I made my breakfast afterwards because I was getting very hungry at this point and then I also had a hot lemon because it was quite cold this morning winter is definitely coming and I had just updated my to-do list as you saw even though I'd made it the previous day whilst I was eating my breakfast I quickly did some emails that came in but I wasn't too overburdened today which was quite nice and so I can quickly move on to my dissertation so as I mentioned in one of my previous videos I've done quite a lot of the reading for my dissertation so it's just about writing it now and I like to write sections at a time so I focus on one and then I'll move on to doing something completely different for example today I got one section done and then I had a lecture at 10 a.m. so I packed my bag and yes it is incredibly muddy that is not the design of my bag it's because I don't have a mud guard but I had to pack my bag because I was going to my lecture at 10 a.m. this morning and I was also gonna do some other bits and bobs after my lecture so just run some errands but anyway in the lecture I was making my notes as usual as you can see I'm using plain paper as I mentioned at the start and this is how I kind of make and lectures if I can't sometimes they will go incredibly fast and I'm forced to make notes on the PowerPoint slides that they often give us but today I was able to make my own notes from scratch and then that would mean that I can fill them in later which is why I prefer these these are my old ballet shoes they have holes in both feet and they stink so bad and these which I got today actually went before the make so dancer I normally go for block these they were cheaper and they feel like slippers or might be there for me so well I don't know why I've never gone for them and they had the elastic already sewn on I don't have time to sew elastics right now yeah like they just hug your feet really nice right when you press that so [Applause] I really don't think I have any common sense sometimes but anyway I had been to the shops after my lecture I did a full on out eShop which was a bit spontaneous but I'm glad I brought my big rucksack with me and I also got ballet shoes as I showed you and then I essentially got to work on this essay that I was writing so I had pretty much completed it but I needed to read through it add some extra stuff and just make sure it was ready for kind of handing him for the supervisor to look at this was for my CJD module and it was a topic that required me to really focus on what I was writing because sometimes it's quite confusing when I am I hired a plan it's just my back especially the bubble when I don't have a jumper on especially it's super annoying and I just can't do my hair we just wrap it around we like try it in some of this thing then the plot just hangs well the plot doesn't touch my back it's like the best thing even though I look like an idiot but it's the life no one's ever gonna really see you when you're walking I'm just such a strange person after I'd done my essay I decided that it was a good time to take a break and have lunch and then afterwards I moved on to writing another section of my dissertation so working on my back again and at this point in the day it usually runs out of battery but anyway so my decision is only six thousand words and I am trying to write as concisely as possible but I am realizing that I'm already over the word limit by quite a lot so yeah I am still writing things and I want to include a lot more but I'm just gonna have to be really concise in the way I write things not waffle at all because there is no room for waffling in this dissertation and my topic is quite broad even though I have already narrowed it down slightly because we are able to modify our title we were even able to make up our own side to us I decided not to do that I've just modified my slightly so far but it might even need further tweaking and yes I talk to myself all the time okay so I'm guessing it's not just me but when I am writing things like writing an essay or writing my dissertation as I was doing then I just have to talk to myself I have to see if it makes sense and that's the way I can do it but yeah and the evening I had a hat rehearsal so this was in late afternoon actually I think from four til five or something like that so I had to cycle out of City Center and go to my tap rehearsal which was good and it was getting quite cold as I've said so I've wacked out my scarf recently and whenever I go out on my bike I have to really make sure that I wrap up warm and put on gloves because my hands are starting to dry out really quickly and get really sore so yeah that's my life in the winter unfortunately when I got back I still had time before I was gonna make dinner to do some work and I was just going to finish this section of my dissertation that I didn't finish before I went to the tap rehearsal so as before I was just on my Mac Burke I had my checklist next to me which has a color code which I've mentioned in a previous video so I'm using different colored text to designate different sections for my dissertation and this is actually making it so much easier when I'm writing it I didn't really know whether this was gonna help but it actually is turning out to be quite useful so I do recommend it and if you would like me to talk further about it then definitely like this video and I can do that very soon as you can see I had finished my dinner and I was just doing a tiny bit more of my dissertation before I had a shower and then decided it was time to go to bed so I just essentially reverse what I did in the morning I just put everything away on my huge desk which I can honestly love I looked at my to-do list didn't have to update it and then I just had some almond milk and went to bed thank you for watching this video as usual guys I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see T see you

Hey everyone, I hope that you’re all doing well x

I’ve been watching a lot of Study with Me videos recently and while I’ve been revising in the holidays, I thought that I’d make one too!
I know that this isn’t as productive as I could have been and I did spend a lot of time moving from place to place, but I feel like as long as you finish what you set out to do that day, it’s all good!

Also, one final note, the number of hours that you do is not an indication of the amount of work you’ve done, or how productive you’ve been! You could do the same amount of work in 2 hours that takes someone else 5 or another 30 minutes, so it’s always better to count in terms of work, rather than hours!

I really hope that you enjoyed this video! Please do click that THUMBS UP, and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE! XX

Lots of love,

Mani x

good morning everyone and guess who's back with the vlogs so some of you may notice that I'm actually in my holidays so terms over but I'm still in Oxford I chose to pay a little bit extra and stay in my room over the holidays which made it easier because one I didn't have to move my stuff out and two I could use the libraries and revise however recently it's becoming a recurring that I should tell this very like it's becoming a recurring thing where I am only doing about 4 to 5 hours of work in the day and then when it hits about 6 or 7 o'clock I'm just like oh I'm too tired I should go to bed or I should start like winding down and start not working so today I've decided it's gonna be the day where I get lots of work done so I thought why not record a study with me I don't know how this is gonna go and I don't even know how many hours I'm gonna do so I would just keep going with it haven't decided but one of the problems I have is that I like taking break so you can see how I work and I like working different places I am really bored of working in the same place so yeah we'll see how it goes I'm gonna eat something I'm gonna have some tea have some biscuits and yeah then head off and I'm gonna decide which library to head to so join me and can come and revise with me Oh dipping listen to your saga so about 11 o'clock I know this is a late time to start but today I'm determined to work till late and I'm gonna work my room for a bit see how much work I can get done before I get bored of these four walls but yeah let's start so here I was working on some algorithms nodes I had the slides open and the lecture notes and I was just trying to sit down understanding exactly what was going on term is too short to actually understand every little bit of the content so this is a good time to look at YouTube videos see other notes from other universities and try and basically figure out what the hell was going on and I then make my own notes from it so that I don't have to keep doing that research every time one on nearly one o'clock 12:53 and that's been about two hours of work ish and quite happy with how productive that was recently and where you've been enjoying writing my notes on plain paper right now work on network flows which is a topic that I really understand and I'm nearly finished with my notes for the chapter right now I was looking at survey design of how you can design surveys by applying it to bipartite matching and then Airlines calculating image and image segmentation image segmentation is one that I'm becki about but I don't waste too much time better understand it and I'm going to move on and come back to it later throughout its bid nearly three hours now and I'm just getting to that point where things aren't making 70 more and it's frustrating me that I don't understand it immediately and maybe a little smoke because I'm bit hungry so I'm I think at this point I'm gonna now leave and go to a library I'm gonna grab some food on the way and then I'm gonna head to a library I really feel like having some juice I might go get some other berry juice from the Korean store down the road I think I might go to the racket of science language it's a little bit of a walk away it's about a 10 15 minute walk away but I really like the fact they have all my textbooks I don't carry any and yeah I think they come I go there for a bit and we'll see how that goes so I've a friend who has finals who is already stressed he post on Instagram the other day so I mean just send her some angel slices so yeah I'm gonna pitch them to her she another college but we'll do that at all hey theory is it gonna rain today so I've decided against going to get some juice because as you can see it's raining and that would be about a 20-minute detail for me and I want to stay out of the rain as long as I can so I'm gonna head straight to Lincoln and get some food and then go straight I can be dry as soon as possible but yeah Wow here we are so while you can use college libraries also have faculty libraries and so the science library houses all the books basically any science subject ever I usually like working on a basement and they also have this little area that you can eat in so I was gonna go eat there and then work in the basement where all my books are but I only realized after I'd finished eating that that that basement was closed because they were relocating some of the books and I make it more accessible which wasn't great and I don't like working upstairs so I had to change library off so it's been an hour since we last spoke and it'll work and much faffing has been done the downstairs bit that I usually sit in where all my books are have been relocated and closed I'm gonna go to the fair Harmsworth library which is the American Institute library which basically to postgrads but I like working there because they have individual desks so I'm gonna head to the American Institute I've luckily would she just like a couple of minute walk down Wow so it's actually able to power through the end of the networks chapter there were lots of bits that I didn't get during term but sort of understood now after thorough reading I then attempted some of the questions from problem sheet and I still didn't get some of them however after googling and like reading about the subject a bit I got through some of them and that was some I still had problems with and then I made him notes and early on my Tudor later to see if he can help but at this point I'm pretty happy with the amount of stuff that I've gotten done like throwback to members of be blogging from my compared witches just so weird it feels so weird of logging on this so I need to go back to cut my textbook anyway so it worked out okay I've got about two two and a half hours done in the vet arms worth library I used to call it the liam hemsworth library just because I couldn't remember the actual name so I had a chance to charge my camera I swear fully charge in the morning and he usually lasts like a full day of filming but guess not this times because the mental plan is is to go for go to a coffee shop work there for a little bit and get some work done then on the way home grab dinner work in the unified beat in a chill throughout an hour work in the Univ library for another two ish hours and then that should be enough for today so rather than going to a coffee shop I decided to go to Oxford foundry which is like this entrepreneurial social hub kind of thing there just has lots of different seating this little coffee shop area in the back there cafe area was shot so then I just had to stick with water which is fine during the water kids so here I was about to attempt a problem sheet from one the previous chapters and so then I thought I'd read over the notes that I'd already made the batch happened before actually beginning those questions [Applause] YouTube can be really beneficial so here I was watching one of the MIT lectures on algorithms and while Oxford does allow you to we listen to lectures you can tree watch them and sometimes I find just looking at white board and people drawing things out a lot easier at this point I've moved on from networks and start in the next chapter which was linear programming and started making notes for that so I'd actually finished what I wanted the day and started moving on to the next bit which I was really happy about it's no longer as bright as it was earlier I've got about two ish hours of work down there but I could study here my stomach grumbling and it was loud enough that other people could hear it so I should go here so I couldn't resist the golden arches I walked past and thought I live in really put up do I deserve to have cheeky fast foods so yeah I got myself a rap meal so while eating I love watching TV so here I was watching the assassination of Gianni Versace which is this new TV show that I absolutely love I'm on Episode five and it is absolutely amazing I definitely recommend it and then I changed yeah I'm wearing this this jΓ€germeister t-shirt and this Oxford computer-science fleece yet it's quite a contrast cuz it's work on top but party underneath like that's basically my motto in life so about ten and I was doing some reading but I realized that the bit that I understand isn't in this textbook and it's in another textbook which way so I'm just going to check if they have in the unit library and if they do then you're going to pop over to the library quickly yes it's available okay so I'm just gonna go get that I think I'm done so I had to read kinda understood the general gist of things but I feel like my brain isn't taking more information in at this point because we started studying it like 10:00 10:30 so at this point I don't even know whether the last hour of my work was very productive or not but as important as it is to start working I think it just as important to know when to stop I could have been more productive I could have like not taken as many breaks and all fast around as much in different places but I very easily get bored so I felt the need to go to different places and that's why I like being at university like Oxford where there are so many different libraries I really hope that you enjoyed this the first kind of study with me I've ever done I've seen I have gotten recently into the the vibe of watching a lot of them on YouTube and find them quite motivating so hopefully you find this those rating and hopefully you enjoyed it remember it's not about the number of hours you do it's not about sort of over killing yourself is really not a good habit what I need to do 20 hours of work today or I'm not gonna or I'm a failure because that's not it you need to give yourself a cheerful goals and you need to then try and work work towards am if you fit if you find yourself repeatedly not making those goals in clearly they're not achievable so reduce them a little and then good then try work again and try again because that will make you feel better and every time you take something off your to-do list you will feel better so I hope you enjoyed this video click that thumbs up button if you haven't subscribed to my channel click that subscribe button down below then click the bell icon next to it to get notifications every single time that I upload yeah I hope you're having a brittle day wherever you are and I'll see you guys next time bye

My Online Stationery Shop (Pumpkin Productivity):

[Applause] hello it's Ruby and today I'm going to be showing you a University night routine this is somehow the only night routine I have filmed since starting a texture which I knows bad because I get so many requests to do it but I'm doing it today and it's a special night routine as well because it is a night before an exam routine this video is also very very kindly sponsored by Exeter University which is so exciting because if you've been watching my videos then you will know that I am studying at X University at the moment and so I'm so excited to be working with the University on this video so on the night before an exam I will usually finish work at around 5:30 so that I have time for a proper night routine where I can relax and get ready for tomorrow so the first thing I will do is just write a little plan to-do list of the things that I want to do tomorrow for revision and then I just do a tiny bit of editing before checking my timetable so tomorrow's exams were actually my first exams so I wanted to write all of the locations up on this post-it note and put on my planner saying that I would always have it with me and then I just tidied up my desk space then I decided to do the washing up and I will listen to classical music whilst I do this I pretty much just have classical music as background for the whole of this night routine just because it helps to keep me relaxed and gets me in a really good state of mind ready for tomorrow then next it's time to get started with cooking which is actually one of my favorite things that I found since joining accessory study University I'm staying in a studio flat in halls this year and I really love having the kitchen after my bedroom and being able to cook my own meals because I sometimes did it at home but I didn't do it very often and today I was making one of my favorite dishes which is really simple it's just a tofu scramble so you add some silken tofu tumeric nutritional yeast and also some tahini I like to add I also cook some broccoli advanced girl with it I decided to start this with a bread roll and whilst it was cooking I just went and did some YouTube admin because I had quite a lot of things to do then I sat down to eat Danish today was absolutely delicious I like to cook one of my favorite things the night before an exam because it's a real treat and I also kept a notebook on my dad I needed to think of some ideas for something exciting coming up it was really easy for me to just jot down things so I got the tasks done over dinner then I immediately cleaned up and went and washed up all of my plates and dishes and I also posted study with me in focus I'm posting daily study with me at the moment then I will do my last check of emails and I might also check social media here but this is the last time I'm gonna go on social media this evening it can be really distracting before bed and especially the night before an exam we've really want to make sure that you're well rested so then I went and got everything ready that I would need for my exams tomorrow so that includes having your exam pencil case you need your student ID as well so have my exosuit ID and they got that ready and I also filled up a water bottle as with the GCSE and a-level exams at university you cannot have labels on the water bottle then I close my curtains and today was it was a really beautiful day Ali / it was a really cloudy in the evening and as you can see still got the classical music going strong then I chose my outfit for tomorrow I really like to make things as streamlined as possible for the next day because I don't want to have any added distractions in the morning I just want to have a really calm exam morning then I went and took down my hair because I was going to wash it and I had a shower next I just brushed out my hair I don't always do this if I'm completely honest I probably only do this maybe once or twice a week but I did brush out my hair today then of course you've got to brush your teeth because it's me I was obviously reading as I was brushing my teeth and at the moment I'm reading this book called Walden which is an American classic and so far one of the best classics I've ever read I would do that much revision the night before an exam especially after 5:00 when I finished my main revision today but I do like to read through essays in the evening after my shower I just find it's really helpful just to refresh and jog my memory it's very passive revision but it reminds me that I do know I do know this stuff and it gives me a confidence boost then I will set my alarm and I get really anxious that I'm gonna sleep through it even though I literally never do so I end up setting so many all the way to 9 o'clock which is just silly so then I will get out my exercise mat and I just like to do some gentle stretching because I find this quite meditative and it helps to calm me down I really enjoy the process of stretching and I also like to use this lavender eye mask put over your eyes and it's really relaxing then I will tidy up my room and get myself a bottle of water of course it's important to get yourself some tea and whilst that brews I like to maybe drink half the water bottle and then fill that back up today I was having this bedtime tea from Sainsbury's every night without fail I will spray my white lavender the white company pillow mist it really helps get me to sleep and it's really relaxing and I recently got these rollerball essential oils from the white company and the relaxed one is the same scent as the pillow mist so for ultimate relaxation on the night before an exam I will always put this on my wrists and then I will get into bed and I will turn on my little polar bear light and I will read I will probably read until about 10:30 and then I will turn off the light and I'm going to sleep so thank you so much for watching this video I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that if you are an exam season yourself at the moment that this was somehow useful in forming your own routine I want to say another huge huge thank you to xt university of a sponsoring this video as I said I am a student at Exeter and I'm loving my time here I was nervous to go to university as I know so many people are but I just feel so at home at Exeter everyone so lovely it's a really pleasant community and especially because even though it's a city it's a small city and there is lots of greenery so it feels kind of like home still so since starting here I've had so many people messaging me telling me that they're thinking about going to Exeter that they're going to come next year and if you are thinking about going to Exeter there are actually two open days at the end of mate there's one on the 31st of May which is a Friday and then one on the 1st of June which is a Saturday so if you're thinking about going to Exeter and you want to learn a little bit more about the University then I definitely recommend trying to find the time to come because from personal experience I can tell you that University every day is are so so so important and even if you're not entirely sure if you'd like to go to a particular University it's really good to keep your options open and look at as many as you can because you might just go into one of the introductory lectures and think where this department is the one that I want to be a part of so if you are interested in learning a bit more about Exeter and I definitely recommend going to the open days on the Friday and Saturday yes so another huge thank-you Daxter for sponsoring this video I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that you have a productively

Productive Morning Routine (on a Study Day)

Thank you so much for watching my updated morning routine. As I’ve said before (and will no doubt say again!), morning routines are my very favourite videos to film and so I am so excited to share this one with you today. Mornings just represent something so special… they provide an opportunity for beginnings and new success, for new happiness and new relationships. Thence, I think it’s so important for us to do them right πŸ™‚

Disclaimer – I’ve never properly filmed in my lounge before this video because I didn’t want it to look like I was showing off. My family is so lucky to have a house with such a beautiful living room, and we are grateful for it every day! Since I have a video coming soon which is set entirely in the lounge, I can’t really keep it private anymore. I just wanted to let you know that I am not trying to brag in any way at all by showing this room (it just so happened to be the room I ate breakfast in as well!).

hello it's freely and good morning so today I'm going to be showing you a morning routine for a study day so I will try to wake up maybe at around 7:00 and then I will read in bed and I actually finished my book this morning I was reading the book mice which is really good I really enjoyed it when I get out of the shower I like to make my bed I love making my bed it's always worth doing it doesn't take very long that it sets you up very nicely for the day then I will head to the bathroom where I will first we'll open up the shutters just to let some daylight in and then I will brush my teeth and I usually will read when I brush my teeth but I finished my book just now so I wasn't able to then I'll head back to my room and I'll open up my curtains and today was just so so sunny the sky was a beautiful dark blue so next I will plan my day I will plan my study session and I will use my pumpkin productivity study planner which you can get on my website if you are interested since I was the first one up I had to let them out and I decided to go outside I like to go outside in the mornings because the weather is just getting so so lovely and I like to do power poses in the morning because it kind of helps you to feel more confident and it makes you feel like you're ready to take on the day then just again some very light exercise in the morning because I think it's nice to start the day with something active I just went on the trampoline and you can see my daughter's trying to get off the trampoline the whole time might be too wet next I went in Greece the chickens just to say hello lynnie okay so then I had it inside to get myself some breakfast and today I decided to have some yogurt with phrasing fruit and some cereal with that and I went into the living room to eat this because since my dinner party we've had the dining table in the lounge also opened up the shutters in there to let some more daylight in and over breakfast I was reading the newspaper so after washing up I decided to head to the home library so I could choose the next book I was going to read because I'd already gone about half an hour without reading a book because I needed to find something death and those trainee read fast we've got the woman in black and we have also got a tear of tea tea tea so then I headed back to the kitchen and I decided to make myself some tea so then I headed upstairs and they decided to get on with some what I like to get on with walk as early as I can in the morning even though I hadn't technically finished getting ready yet because I hadn't done my hair so I worked on doing some flashcards for about half an hour once they were done I then went and did my hair this is just something I like to do to help me feel like my morning is more productive so it makes me feel like I've done a lot more with my day by the time that say 8 o'clock rolls around alack sir give me my flash news briefly so this is the hairstyle that I've been doing every day for the last week really it's my new favorite hairstyle basically what you do is you get a small piece of hair on one side on either side and you twist these and you keep on adding hair into the twist as you do it and then you use this twisted part to make a new plan but I'll leave a tutorial down below and I put on some face cream and also some eye cream and if I'm going out I might put on some makeup as well so I was going out later this afternoon so I decided to put on this green concealer and some normal concealer because I have rosacea which means that my cheeks got very very red and I also filled in my eyebrows and then the next thing I would do the last thing before getting on with work is just going on LinkedIn and updating any connection I recently got LinkedIn and I'm really enjoying using it and here's a really important platform steps so thank you so much for watching this video I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that you have a productive week you

hello it's Ruby and today I am going to be sharing two productive day vlogs both of the days I didn't film too much and so I decided to put the lid together basically in short this video is more of a unpack with me because I got back from University and they hadn't unpacked yet so I just all my unpacking in these two days so I started off the day with some walk of course so I went through and I read from this textbook highlighted and then proceeded to added into my notes and then I got started with unpacking so today I only managed to do a little bit because I was going run to my friend's house but I went through most of my clothes and just put the bits of needed to go in the laundry its laundry and but most of it back in my room so I went to go and see my friend because my mom was having her hair done in the same towns that she drove me and whilst I was waiting my friend was doing something in the morning so I just went to the local library and I did some more work here I was just writing up some acid plans for each of the philosophical problems topics but I spent about an hour and a half in this library before it actually closed so here I am packing off and having to leave and my cool boyfriend and asked if I could come around early and she said that I could so I went straight to her house okay I'm just looking down to my friends Alice I'm so excited to see her because I haven't seen you ever about five or six weeks okay I'm back home now it's currently like ten past ten and I'm sorry that I didn't love the whole time that was I was at my friend's house but when I'm with friends I usually do just forget to vlog so I went to my friend's house at 1:00 and then I stayed till like 9:30 and then I got home I'm gonna go to bed now actually because it's quite late and I want to get an early start tomorrow Oh Dutch braids which I really really like so I bleached my friends hair because she wants to have it like white blonde and then she did okay hello I'm actually deciding to continue yesterday's vlog on to today because because I don't think yesterday's was very long and it's currently about 2:40 and I'm currently just doing some research into cameras I'm using my vlogging camera for all of my content at the moment because the current other camera that I was using used to be my mum's and then I basically used from the age of eleven but all of the videos and films that I made when I was a kid and then right through until I started University and then I got this camera so I gave it back to my mom so she because she wanted to practice photography I'm not getting a DSLR camera but I want to get kind of main camera um that I can then attach good lenses turn things as well because I love love love this camera and but there are some little bits about it which aren't ideal for sit-down videos so I'm doing some research now I need to fuss with unpacking this is everything that I bought University so I'm gonna get that done and then I want to film maybe two or three sit-down videos so that I can edit them on the plane on sorry yeah sorry for that singing – waving flag I do like that song I love feel-good music so I just proceeded to go through and take out all the stuff that was in the hall so not all of the stuff in the hall is actually mine but I did all of the bits that were mine to stand and I just went through and put all of the clothes back in my wardrobe so I actually keep a lot of clothes stored in my loft space in the loft I've got this big box and then another laundry bag which is for bigger bulkier items and I keep all of my outer season plates air so I went through the box and I just added all the clothes that I wanted to have in my summer wardrobe I took these out and then I replaced that stuff with winter clothes from my current wardrobe making good progress and then I decided to refold all of my skirts and shorts because they were really piling up and it looked really messy so I just decided to reorganize those two compartments so then I went ahead and put all of my books into my bookshelf I brought pretty much all of the books that I bought to university back with me in vicar's that would have my favorite ones like they want to leave them there so yes that's pretty much all of the unpacking that I did thank you so much for watching this video and I hope that you have a productive you

hello it's Ruby and today I'm going to be talking to you about distractions which I've got to admit is something that I have struggled with in the past when it comes to studying when it comes to sitting down and getting on with some work something that you need to get done but there are a few things which I have learnt over the years a few ways that I've trained myself to eliminate the impact of distraction I'm basically going to be sharing with you what's worked for me this might not necessarily work for everyone but hopefully you might find this useful and hopefully some of these tips will help you to get less distracted because ultimately when we give way to distractions that's when we procrastinate that's when we're less productive that's all my less focused so avoiding distractions is so so important and during sick form when I was doing really long study sessions this is something which I really relied on to help me keep my focus help me keep working productively somehow throughout the whole the whole stunt yeah so I've just got a few quick tips which I'm gonna share with you and I hope you find it useful now the first thing is basically a way that I train myself to avoid distraction in examinations because this is the very worst time to be distracted I have I have had cases where I've been sitting in an example especially at GCSE and I would basically just find it really hard to concentrate I would be thinking about the invigilator x' who were walking up and down sometimes they'd read over your shoulder or something and that would really put me off it really distract me and I couldn't focus entirely on the work and also really tiny noises I remember this one exam when I think it was internal but um one of the invigilator had a watch on and when they were typing the watch was making this really strange scratching noise on the computer and it was really really tiny I don't think many people noticed it but I couldn't concentrate because of it and also walking up and down other people writing other people typing I found that really really hard to concentrate within especially at the beginning of an exam when you really need to get into the mindset so the way that I train myself to avoid the impact of this was by practicing studying with these background noises I think that called ASMR but there are a few of these which have sounds like other people writing people walking up and down there's even an exam one which I found if you play this when you're studying as opposed to having silence having rain noise having music and then you basically have to train yourself to get used to that noise and it won't feel so abnormal when you're actually there and you won't get distracted by it so that is a top tip which works so well for me the second way that I don't get distracted by distractions is by having a signature scent which my study to my mom actually is an aromatherapist and so she mixes together oils and one of them she made for me is she calls it Ruby's a revision remedy and this is basically some oils blended together which I'll put on my wrists before I study basically I associate this now with really good quality revision I'm really unfocused so when I smell that I'm instantly in this mindset where I am focused our memories are largely drawn to scent it's one of the greatest ways that we can remember something not only is it going to help you to recall the information but I also find that it helps to get me into a certain mindset now the third thing is very simple but very very important which is to turn off the phone and put it in a different room ideally with the sound off there are times there are the months where I have just found myself getting more distracted by my phone getting more distracted by social media and during these months I do have to just put my phone out of my room it takes a lot more effort then to actually stand up go out go find it then check something and so I mean it's so much easier when your phone's literally right here and you can you can just take a few minutes it's gonna just wrap your burgers it's gonna disrupt your sense of flow the fourth tip which I have which is again more to do with training yourself is to make a note of things that distract you so if you find yourself getting distracted by something just kind of make a note of maybe what you were working on make a note of what distracted you as well so for example one thing which I noticed I would always get distracted by was if my room was messy so if there was just a single top or jumper on my bed or if the bed was kind of like slightly crumpled or if if I'd loads of stuff out as opposed to having a clean surface I would find myself anymore directed and so I basically just had to incorporate tidying my room before and into my study routine and then that helps me to stop feeling distracted and start to focus instead the fifth thing is again quite simple but again very effective which is to keep goals at hand to look at if you need to I don't know if I've ever actually done this I definitely thought about doing it I'm pretty sure I've done this before but I might not have done basically writing out a goals list which I have got and and then keeping that pinned up to your wall and then that's kind of like a distraction but it's a good distraction I know that this doesn't work for everyone but I would I would personally recommend making sure that there's a specific space in your room or in your house where you would work because then you're less likely to get distracted when you're there especially if everything in that zone is to do with work it's to do with studying so my desk obviously is my prime study place this is where I study and so when I sit down here I don't really have anything here which is going to distract me from that because all I've got things like pens and looks like pencils and leading on from that having a nice workspace I really think it's worth either investing in in a few little bits to make your desk more homely more friendly home so for example maybe a plants I didn't actually have a plan to my desk but now I'm thinking about it'd be really nice to have a plan so my dad I say a plant because so this is the view from my desk and I am so so lucky to have this for you and I work but having this view means that I enjoy working and I enjoy sitting down to study and it's and I don't really get distracted so much I'm more focused because I kind of I enjoy being in the space that I'm in I think it's really important to have a study space which you don't enjoy genuinely being in so making sure it's a really light space if you hunt if you're not lucky enough to have it a square nest your window having like a bright lamp um you know kind of white light as opposed to yellow lights handles I actually filmed a video on my channel which is my preparing to study routine which includes some of the things I might do before a study session and that's very much centered around partially a static in my mind it is linked towards being in a more more productive state of mind and I find it easier to get into a state of flow when I'm in this kind of environment and very last thing which I recommend is making a timetable which is something I really swear by when I'm doing studying so one thing which I have mentioned before is that I like to flick between things and that's it's already quite a very task and that's it's maybe research-based where you're looking at multiple different things and it's very go-go-go and your mind can stay very active and it's not going to get bored by anything I like to flip between tasks I like to keep my brain awake engaged enjoying it not really and not getting bored by something because that's the very worst thing that can happen and that's when you start to get distracted oh yes I one of my tips very very quick but I hope that some of these are helpful and for everyone who is getting ready to prepare for either gtcys is levels a levels or final exams and of your exams wherever wherever you are I really hope that you're studying as well make sure to look after yourself this exam season make sure to give yourself give your give your mind and your body the breaks and the time that it needs to be Hugh Bray only you know how much time you need for that be sensible but also be kind to yourself it's so so important to be kind to yourself yeah so good luck to everyone who's working hard and I hope that you have a productive week

hello it's Ruby and today I have another study with me to show it to you so this was exam preparation that I did a couple months ago for my January exams so what I was doing here after doing a mindmap was basically just writing up some examples of fallacies because this is for evidence and argument one of the things we have to look into is fallacies and so to make sure that I could understand each of them I just wanted to practice writing up fallacies for them and it was really really useful I'm glad that I did it so then here I was doing some past exam questions I did a whole paper and it was very good revision past papers are the best form of revision and then I just wrote up some flashcards for evidence in argument these were just things that came up from the exam questions and they were questions that I got wrong so I thought that would be useful to put them on flashcards to make sure that I didn't forget the information so then here I was just writing up a list of all of the fallacies this was so that I could refer back to it and just make a note of the ones I had effectively remembered [Laughter] then here I was just reading through some notes on fallacies and then I was making some more flashcards after that I moved on clearing some more practice questions these ones were ones which would actually put up on Ali they were past homework questions but I decided to go through him again so I was practicing Venn diagrams here and then here I was practicing truth tables the next I just decided to go through my formal and informal fallacies and see if I could remember them so I came up with some pneumonic and I was just making sure that I could remember them so thank you so much watching this video I hope that you enjoyed it and I hope that you have a productively

hi and welcome back to another video so this is gonna be how I use my phone to study and I just wanna say this video is not sponsored at all so the first time I'm showing you here is an app called forest and honestly I think it might be one of my favorite apps to study with as you can see it's basically it's really simple concept but it's just a timer and you can time for up to two hours but in this time you can't use your phone at all and on top of that which i think is the best part about this app is that you can grow plants so there's lots of different plants that you can buy once you start to unlock coins by completing like time tasks and things like that if they all don't start at a thousand that's only because I've been using this up quite well now there's also different features to this up as well so there's a timeline bit where you can see what once you've planted one and what for and you can also use the phone usage section as well if you want but I don't really use that there's also an achievement section at which you can unlock achievements and they give you coins for obviously completing the achievement which is actually really useful for being able to buy plans there is also a friend section so you can connect with your friends and you can even grow plants together which is actually really great there's also an overview mode so you can have a look at how much you've done over the past week month day or year and I just think it's really good way to make sure you are tracking your vision as you can see mine kind of goes down from there I think the best part about this app is you can actually plant real trees and who doesn't like putting real trees so I think that's self-explanatory really so this next up I'm sharing you is not called minimalist and it's really just a really simple to-do list app I don't really know how to explain this I just think it's really good because it's not like I'd have to put it in my calendar I'd have to put in my notes I don't even have to write it down because I write to-do lists a lot and before I found this up I just had paper absolutely everywhere so there's also a Pomodoro timer as well I think that's how you pronounce it which i think is great it's a cheaper alternative to buying a timer this next step I'm going to be very surprised if you haven't heard of it it's Quizlet I feel like everybody sort of knows what Quizzle is but I kind of had to include it because this is what I used to study with it's basically an online flashcard app and it literally saves my life because I really don't like making physical flashcards I think it just takes too much time and you know I don't really learn from them whereas this up allows you to do tests as you can see was not doing very well on these ones yeah so there's actually different ways you can test yourself which i think is really good instead of just reading over flashcards there's actually different ways you can learn so you can do obviously the flashcard method there is a learn section a write section which is what's playing here there's a match section and an actual test section which I just think it's really good because then you're not doing the same thing over and over again and you're actually doing active revision and it's even great because this up allows you to make your own flashcards or you can even search for them as well so this next up is Kahoot and again if you haven't heard Kahoot where have you been living because it gets me through a lot of our politics lessons and the reason I put this in here it's like an alternative to Quizlet so it's a little bit more fun you can make them for you and your friends to do so if you were going to do like a study session together like you could all have prepare cahoots and then you could go through them yeah so a lot of people just think you have to do them in class but you can actually do quizzes yourself and make them and practice them as I'm doing here so I just think it is a different way and it's also in time as well yeah so it's just honestly a different way to Quizlet the last step I'm gonna be showing you is an app called coggle and I don't think too many people have heard of this I didn't hear of this until my rst to shoot at me and it's an basically it's just an online mind map website app thing is better on the website I do have to admit the phone app is a bit difficult to use but when you use it online it's a lot better so the UK it's basically it's free but you can pay the premium which I have done because I use it so much and if you like it I would recommend it because it makes life a lot easier when making cockles but yeah I love this up I live by it can't tell you how much I love this app it's a bit ridiculous these next steps are going to be showing you on what I classes study ups it's just what I use to help me with my studies if that makes sense so because I'm a policy extreme I have to use the news up because I need to keep up with current affairs for my essays and things like that and so I'm just gonna show you one because they are all pretty much the same but as you can see they're my tagged things because brexit new UK is massive and I need to know about it for my exams because we could be asked about it and finally the last up is an app called BBC sounds I'm not too sure whether this is just a British thing or not but it's basically a podcast app but for BBC programmes and it's really helpful for me for history so as you can see I'm currently listening to one for India which is one of my history topics so this brings us to the end of the video I hope you enjoyed it I hope these up the helpful and if you could please like comment and subscribe because it would really help me out in love I can't deny it I mean

Successful people don’t waste time on sleep. Business magnate Richard Branson sleeps for 5 hours a night, while the director of Amazon, Indra Nooyi, prefers to keep it at 4 hours. Maybe that’s one of the secrets to their tremendous success? I decided to test this theory out, but take it to the next level – just 2 hours of sleep a day y’all!

SUMMARY:
– After loads of thinking, I decided that I needed more time, so why not reduce my sleeping hours?
– To my surprise, day one wasn’t that bad! I fell asleep immediately and woke up feeling somewhat rested, focused, and ready to go.
– Day two of my experiment was way less glorious. When you haven’t slept through the night like a normal person, your desire to go to work and get things done instantly decreases.
– Day three went by just like day two – the world around me was a grey blur and I felt like a zombie. My productivity went up, though – I had so much time on my hands that I had already finished my old projects and had awesome ideas for new ones.
– Thursday was a breaking point for me. I guess my system kinda got used to my crazy new schedule and made my naps a bit more satisfying.
– After a tolerable Thursday, Friday took me right back to my depression. My experiment stopped being fun and edgy and turned into a monotonous cycle. Every day was Groundhog Day and I started to feel like I was losing my mind.
– On Saturday, I rode my bike, went hiking, took a walk in the park, even went to a small concert in the evening, and still had tons of spare time. With my work out of the picture, I had absolutely no idea what to do!
– To be honest, the final day never actually happened. At 2 A.M. on Sunday I fell asleep for my usual nap but my alarm didn’t go off. I woke up only at 2 P.M., feeling the best I’ve ever felt.
– I started to look way older than I actually am and gained a couple of pounds, even though I exercised every single day. I even had a terrible headache in the middle of my experiment but, thankfully, all these symptoms went away as I started to sleep normally again.

you know certain successful people don't waste time on sleep business magnate Richard Branson sleeps for five hours a night well the director of Amazon Indra nuri prefers to keep it at four hours maybe that's one of the secrets to their tremendous success well I decided to test this theory out but to take it to the next level just two hours of sleep a day y'all but let's go back to the day my experiment began I've always been that person who starts the second project before finishing the first one and everything seemed good till I realized that I'm simply drowning and all the responsibilities I've got okay I don't want to drop anything so what should I do after loads of thinking I decided that I just needed more time so why not reduce my sleeping hours I'm a happy early bird which is a rare combo by the way plus I already sleep for six hours on my best days and feel completely fine so after a weekend of resting the challenge was on and here's how it all went down one day instead of trying to fall asleep during the night I decided to break my two hours of sleep into small naps ten minutes is too short so I went for 20-minute naps thankfully my boss and work environment allowed me to go on with this crazy experiment and to my surprise day one wasn't that bad in my nightmares I saw myself drinking numerous cups of coffee but still feeling exhausted but in reality my improvised nap system turned out to be a gem I fell asleep immediately and woke up feeling somewhat rested focus and ready to go good I guess the rest of the experiment is going to be a piece of cake huh Tuesday turned out life can't always be this sweet and day 2 of my experiment was way less glorious when you haven't slept through the night like a normal person your desire to go to work and get things done instantly decreases so on Tuesday my productivity was far from perfect I completed only a couple of tasks from my to-do list handled my usual responsibilities and couldn't wait for the next nap break however there was a small ray of sunshine in my slowly growing depression somehow my mind stayed sharp and focused I learned new information way faster and came up with unpredictable and cool solutions every five minutes and it felt amazing Wednesday day three went by just like day two the world around me was a gray blur and I felt like a zombie my productivity went up though I had so much time on my hands that I had already finished my old projects and had awesome ideas for new ones the only thing that was bringing me down was my emotional state of course I did what I had to do and somehow did it pretty well but I didn't feel anything at all and this hurt my relationships big time I didn't really want to see anybody even small talk started to become a challenge but I'm a true optimist so I just hope that my experiment would get easier as the week continued Thursday Thursday was a breaking point for me I guess my system kind of got used to my crazy new schedule and made my naps a bit more satisfying now I felt like I was asleep for about an hour as opposed to just five minutes I know it's not much but this is a huge step forward when you're sleeping for only two hours a day another thing that made me feel better was my newly established routine no more free hours pacing around the room with no idea what to do now I had to do list time reading time training time meditation time and many other awesome activities I started to feel a little bit more alive but the tiredness didn't go anywhere and I had three more days to go Friday after a tolerable Thursday Friday took me right back to my depression my experiment stopped being fun and edgy and turned into a monotonous cycle every day was Groundhog Day and I started to feel like I was losing my mind my appearance said it all my eyes took on a look of eternal misery with massive bags forming under them and my skin started to look grayish my work productivity also went downhill yes in the last four days I accomplished more than in the last two weeks but all of it lacks soul what I love to do for a living turned into something mechanical and boring and this was the point when I started to doubt my experiment maybe five days is enough okay I guess I can do one more day Saturday finally a day off now that I've done everything I wanted and more I decided to let myself relax for a weekend not a good idea I rode my bike went hiking I took a walk in the park even went to a small concert in the evening and still had tons of spare time with my work out of the picture I had absolutely no idea what to do time went as slowly as it possibly could 10 minutes felt like an hour and I started to get more and more sleepy when I finally met with my friends in the afternoon who got pretty worried about me by the way and told them about my experiment one of them asked me a simple question why and I suddenly realized that I had no answer I finished all the work tests I intended to so what more do I want I guess I just wanted to prove to myself that I have enough willpower to go on with this experiment for a whole week and tomorrow was the final day Sunday to be honest the final day never actually happened at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday I fell asleep for my usual nap but my alarm didn't go off I woke up only at 2:00 p.m. feeling the best I've ever felt yep I kind of failed my experiment but the world around me turned colourful again I felt alive well-rested and inspired to go out there and enjoy myself and on this bittersweet note my insane challenge was finally over to be honest looking back now I realized that it wasn't that bad and I'll remember it forever but the results of this experiment definitely weren't that cool yeah I did my whole list of tasks for a month in just 5 days but I was so exhausted that I couldn't give it my best as a result I had to redo a lot of things all over again my appearance in health were the bigger problem though I started looking way older than I actually am and gained a couple of pounds even though I exercised every single day I even had a terrible headache in the middle of my experiment but thankfully all these symptoms went away as I started to sleep normally again and you already know about my social life when you have no energy whatsoever communication seems impossible so I definitely wouldn't recommend following my footsteps to anybody trust me you don't need it sleeping is fuel for your system so don't take it away so have you ever experimented with your sleeping pattern tell me your story in the Once again, please remember that I am not advising you to do study sessions of this length. This is something which has worked for me in the past but which isn’t necessary for success (at all!). I hope that these tips can be helpful if you are looking to increase focus and concentration in whatever form of work you might be looking to enhance.

hello it's Ruby and today I'm going to be talking to you about how you can concentrate for longer periods of time so two years ago I posted a 14-hour study with me which has so far got something like 2 million views it's my most popular video on my channel and the question which I got most frequently on that video and which I've got at least once on every video that followed it is how did I manage to study for that long how did I manage to study for such long periods of time and still work productively so I wanted to talk to you about how I was able to do that and how I am able to concentrate for such a long periods of time um so one disclaimer just to point out before I start is that by making this video I'm not recommending that you do 14 hour 15 hour study days and these these tips can be applied to anything which you need to concentrate for long periods of time on so that's not necessarily just school and it might not be that you need to concentrate for fourteen or fifteen hours it might be that you need to concentrate for two hours or one or without getting distracted another thing to point out is that I actually don't study for that long anymore so when I was in sixth form I studied for a long long long periods of time 1415 hours I don't do that at all anymore that's just because I wanted to focus more time on other things but nonetheless I have done long long study days in the past and these are the tips that worked for me so hopefully this video is going to be helpful once again just to stress I'm not trying to advise you on doing 1415 hours I don't do that anymore as I said you can succeed perfectly well without doing it if you'd like me to do a video which is reflective on me doing 1415 hours study days and please let me know ok so studying for long periods of time comes down to four things motivation avoiding procrastination and flow so motivation avoiding procrastination and flow or components of focus first thing that I'm going to point out is motivation so motivation is so important motivation is what will keep you going when you're studying motivation is what's gonna stop you from putting down your books after an hour or two hours it's gonna allow you to work for a much longer period of time so I recently read a really great book which was the motivation myth by Jeff seeded and the quote which sticks with me the most from this book it's one that he uses time and time again success leads to motivation leads to success leads to motivation so accomplishing something is the only way of being motivated that's how we motivate ourselves and so if we're going to feel motivating and walking and continue working for a long period of time then we need to keep up that level of success we need to have small successes which are going to help us to continue the way that I manage to get around this is by using to-do lists this is why I'm such a massive fan of to-do lists so if I have a massive task I will break it up into smaller to do this so if I need to write an essay I will break it up into paragraph one and paragraph to paragraph three conclusion and then I can tick these boxes as I'm going through and I'm accomplishing these small things but it really just keeps your motivation keeps your stamina keeps your momentum up another thing which can help with motivation is make it manageable you can't set like 80 tasks for you to do in one day each of which is going to take you an hour because that's impossible and that's going to be demotivating when you look at it you want to be ambitious do be ambitious but don't overestimate how much you can do that's going to inhibit how much success you feel and then the final thing that I can recommend on the motivation front is timetables so if you are making good headway and you continue going through and taking off at the right pace that you've set for yourself already so you know 9:00 till 10:00 I'm going to write a philosophy essay if you're sticking to the pace that you planned for you to stick out that is a success and I found that that led to motivation so timetables also come in to avoiding procrastination so I will make a timetable which is very strict it helps to regulate my study session of my time making sure that I don't procrastinate and I don't give myself those empty minutes where I can go on my phone without it being scheduled you know that you're going to want to watch YouTube videos you can put that into your timetable there's thing wrong with that this just helps to keep up that momentum again so you just keep on going and you don't really have reason to procrastinate because everything's already planned out for you some really interesting psychology on the idea of choices and when we have a choice to do something if you eliminate choice from your routine you don't have the option to procrastinate and so you're less likely to it's when you have the choice of whether you're going to go ahead with doing this essay or going on your phone the or more likely to go on your phone but if you don't give yourself that choice then you're not going to go on your phone okay now we're going to go into flow which is the most important thing when it comes to studying for long hours or doing anything for long hours so in Camille Preston's that create more flow she says more time and flow means feeling great and creating great things flow is that state where you are content in what you are doing you are completely focused you are completely invested and it's quite a difficult state to get into sometimes but I think that through the motivation and avoiding procrastination we can get into this state for me it was always about finding flow if I didn't have flow there was no way that I was going to be able to sit down and study for that long one component of this for me was feeling relaxed if I felt stressed I would never be able to study for that long things began around in my mind I wouldn't be able to commit myself and focus my time focus my mind entirely on on the task at hand the thing that I would always recommend is making sure that you are relaxed when you start studying and that is a video that's actually something I've spoken about a bit in my video how to enjoy studying where I talk about how I manage to get into this state so do you go check that out because I don't want to repeat myself later okay so then a few other bits that I want to focus on so another thing that I would do which would help me to keep walking for long periods of time would be to switch between activities and this doesn't really work for everyone like I've had some people say that this isn't isn't a very effective strategy but it really really works for me because it prevents me from getting bored with anything so you commit you commit to something you are entirely focused but it's natural that eventually you're going to start to think okay this is getting a bit samey say me I want I want some change so what I would do is I would schedule my study sessions so that I go between subjects I go from chemistry to Spanish to English rs and I just fluctuate between them so it's not only with the subject so so I would fluctuate between passive and active revision and most importantly I go between learning new things and revising old things I'm like I love learning I really love learning and the part that I was found most tedious the pot I still find most tedious about studying is the fact that you've got to spend so much time going over things you already know and I like it when you're when you're giving yourself new opportunities to analyze or reflect or you know widen your horizons with relation to a particular piece of work sometimes it can be not not necessarily passive but it's just about regurgitating and that's not something I enjoy I don't enjoy memorizing but I really really love when I'm able to add something new in and do some research so I would actually a lot between going over flashcards and then adding to my flashcards or reading some extension essay and it really helped me to sustain my motivation throughout another thing which can be helpful is to have a motivational method / routine so if you're not feeling motivated this is something that you can fall back on and I've actually got an example on my channel because I have my own motivational routine which I do follow if I'm not getting motivated another thing that I really recommend is to keep goals and also keep in mind the intrinsic worth of what you are doing so this whole premise of enjoying studying comes down to something which is known as the Sawyer effect which I will leave more information about below and please let me know if you want me to do a video talking about this in more depth but basically this lawyer of fact says that we can turn anything into play so we can turn work into play in the same way that Tom Sawyer pretends the painting the fans which is work is something really fun and really enjoyable and we can do that with anything and I really think we can do is studying if we commit to doing that in my experience that's really the best way to optimize flow because otherwise you're so focused on reward and you're so focused about on what comes now yes so I hope that this video was helpful I know it was quite rambling it's quite long and I was quite a lot of content too but nonetheless I hope that it was helpful and I hope that it helps you to sustain concentration motive a when you're studying or doing any sort of work tasks that does require a great degree of focus so thank you for watching and I hope that you have a productive week

good morning everyone welcome back to another University vlog my room is an absolute tip it's currently 744 I really haven't done very much this morning and I've got a food order coming right now so I'm not going to actually tidy up my room yet I haven't even made my bed because I didn't want to start doing it and then the food orders to come because it's literally it was literally gonna be like two minutes away so that was an alarm look how I'm gonna see it is I still haven't properly unpacked from Jude's and there's my bed not made yeah I've still got these huge hip use boxes because I wasn't three boxes of hippies crisps and I don't know how to put them I'm gonna have to find a way to put them in my wardrobe I think amazing thank you so much I just come down now thank you so here's my breakfast it's looking around cool so I basically got a tiny bit of country crispier lots of yogurt underneath and then I've got raspberries frozen blueberries banana frozen mango a little bit of peanut butter here and I've also sprinkle some cinnamon here and this looks delicious I've also just balled up and tea so I'm going to make myself a mug of our grade so it's currently 9:40 and I'm just about to write my introduction I've been doing some reading and now I'm gonna write my introduction I've actually got the whole essay written pretty much as one paragraph which is bullet pointed and then I'm actually just gonna read through the essay and cut anything which at this stage I think could be cut okay I've just finished the essay it's a hundred words over in there's one bit that I just want to cut down but I'm not gonna do that right now because I actually have to get to a lecture now and which starts in 25 minutes so I'm just gonna quickly grab some lunch which I can bring to campus and okay so my final seminar has just finished I left a few minutes before we ended but we were kind of wrapping up and I I've got a train to catch 6:00 so I'm cutting it quite fine because it's just about to turn five and I haven't actually packed yet and I'm on the other side of campus and I need to walk to the station so I really hope that this all goes according to plan I'm going to an event with the UN World Food Programme tomorrow which is really exciting it's basically thinking about how social media can be used positively to help solve world hunger I'm not sure if you've heard of the app feed our future but it's in conjunction with that which you actually want to study to page on so so if you want to donate a meal to a hungry child in need it's only 35 pence a day which is incredible really really nothing at all but it can feed a child for a whole day so that's feed our future and I will leave that link down below because it is honestly such an incredible app I'm going to this event tomorrow and if I take a train tomorrow then the tickets going to be I think it's 150 pounds more I'm going to head up tonight I'm going to be getting home at about 9:30 and then I'll head straight to London from [Applause] yeah running look at time it's currently 583 it genuinely does feel like summer right now it's beautiful it's so hazy and just you know in summer when you have the haze of midsummer and it's so hot that you can see it rising well that's obviously not it but the as really dusty for some reason and so it looks a bit like that even though it's not I'm at the station was not cutting it fine after all because it's 538 and my train isn't until 682 so that's good now I've just basically got some time to kill now so I might get started now I might read him of my book [Applause] one okay I literally run through your Paddington's of all of it and the lady at the desk where one's getting at my single take her back home it's just so cute ugly just like you be as quick as possible and I've actually sue another four minutes till the train leaves so when I got here the Train patented me up so that's pretty good feeling very happy I did not think that I would make it because last and ten minutes ago I was still at Paddington so I ran to the station and I'm glad I did sometimes if you're embarrassed about something this is amazing it's kind of getting that you make a choice okay that came now say I'm just going son sir look here I'm sorry the Lighting's really would my hair looks very strange too but thank you for watching this video I hope that you enjoyed and have a productive week why is this like so
